Bodies normally disappear if you try to DC/Alt F4 at time of death, or someone loots then does "hide body". It could have been a server/hive glitch I guess if neither of these things happen. Bodies should stay on the server until server reset in my experience, I found mine 7 hours later a couple of weeks ago.

Most anti-biotics are found inside the hospitals so you need to break the glass. Try posting in the Medics thread and someone might meet up with you. Or run to the coast, suicide, then run back to your body.

Skalisky Island is a very popular spot for camps on every server. The heli has a good chance of spawning there so it's normally a hive of activity. A lot of people server jump on Skalisky looking for helicopters and camps, so just because you have the PBX on your server, server hoppers will still get you. Same for Drakon Island, it's a famous haunt for server hoppers sniping into electro. If you want a quieter life head inland, if you want a lot of PvP and gunfights by all means try setting up on an island.

I have to ask, do you play on UK 306 a lot? (Might just be your namesake) Anyways, I don't normally post to find groups since I have a very adult sense of humour (sorry, I love porn links) and can go ultra serious if my groups under fire so I'm not everyones cup of tea when it comes to more casual gamers. But since I've given quite a few beans to Sula already and love his opinions I'll throw my details in. I don't do Skype unfortunatly, I've found the speech delay too much for most games I've played. I don't kill anymore, I've killed a total of 3 people in my entire DayZ career since the 3rd of June, but none since mid June. I prefer using skill to get myself out of a situation, not firepower, and yes, I do die a lot because of this but I've been playing long enough for it to not bother me anymore. I currently play with a small team and we do get attacked at our base regularly so although I am stricly agasint KoS and I don't kill myself, it doesn't mean I can't spot or dive in with medic support, and I will fire for the legs to defend my team. I do really enjoy the PvP element when we go and raid camps with hacked weapons in and destory them all. Unfortunatly since most of my team is older they are all out at work now. Currently running at about +43,000 humanity, and I'm happy to run between private hive or real hive servers. Rinauns private hive is a pretty good place to hang out so thats where I've been recently, you just need to register on their forums to get access to the password.

Sometimes a 0-1 player server just takes 10-30 minutes to load in, it's the dodgy server and not you. When you do get in they are normally like playing DayZ underwater and very laggy. I used to try and load into one, go off and make lunch, then when I came back I'd be the only one in the server. When I was a newbie I used to have a tent set up on one such server since people wouldn't wait that long for the loading time. Low pop servers are a good way to start out learning the game, learning which buildings to loot, however once you've died 100's of times and have learnt not to get attached to your gear then server population won't matter, you'll happily jump in high pop servers as they are much more fun.

ARMA 2 by default has the "max ping" set to 100 in the game server filter options so it might be worth checking that box is blank for him. I remember when I first started and me and a USA friend couldn't see each others servers and it took us 20 minutes to work out why, the ping filter was the problem, we both had the default max 100.

Unfortunatly many people who are thought to be 100% clean are actually passively ESPing and it's very hard to tell, we played with 2 hackers in our clan for 2-3 weeks. Both seemed like awesomely nice guys. We started suspecting when, by their own stupidity they were telling us things when it was impossible to tell/see. We only caught one of them after a massive set up operation involving a friendly fire incident where the offender jumped channels immediately to rage at the guy that killed him even though we had all been telling him on chat the "murderer" was with us 5,000 m away. After this we confronted him and he said he paid $60 for his hack, we had absolutely no way of detecting it aside from what came out of his mouth making it clear he was ESPing. There was nothing in the logs for this guy at all out of the ordinary. Not sure if he got banned in the wave today or not. From my point of view, on our server today from 22 people we saw 5 people insta-banned, however none of the 15 people in Teamspeak were banned. I'm not sure what to say on this one, I wish I could support you, unfortunatly I do not have any evidence at all to back you up.

Confirmed - All of my regular Teamies suffering this problem the first time we try to use something from our inventory either on a new session or respawn after death.

Delete your "@day" folder, then get DayZ commander to install 1.7.2.5, it should take about 10 minutes max. Give DayZ Commander a few chances, it crashed for a few of us yesterday, probably because of the amount of people DLing right now.

I am pretty sure you can go and hack to your hearts content on non Battleye servers against other hackers, so how about going there and stop trolling those of us who choose to play legit. Maybe you can even think about paying for your own server and advertising it as a non battleye hacker/skiddie paradise. Is it going to be any better still getting owned every 6 minutes even when you can hack, because there wil always be a better hacker than you out there? - If you suck at this game you will still suck even with hacks. If you are that shit at the game you call everyone who kills you a hacker, or you havn't got the moral courage to hide a hacked weapon instead of picking it up, or the strength of character to re-gear after being thunderdomed, I suggest you go and play Tetris or Sims.

Depends on which server I'm on if I see it or not 90% of the time I don't see it at all. It might be only private hives I see smoke on but I can't be 100% certain. Sometimes at night I've seen crash sites light up a whole area like the Northern Lights, other times I can almost walk into one at night and see nothing. Does anyone get the same with burning sounds at crash sites? Sometimes there, and soemtimes not? Sorry Geordie, I spotted a wreck site immediately on a live server restart today (actually crapped myself when it spawned 500m away from me since it wasn't there 5 minutes before reset :) ) and sadly it had no smoke at all for me. I believe when you are driving vehicles you see a lot of smoke from all of them (none of the passengers could see the smoke though) I'd love to know what causes this as well, our graphics settings, a server setting?

DayZ uses the engine from ARMA 2 and the items from Operation Arrowhead (I think, tech-heads welcome to correct me), So you must run each game once for DayZ to play. I don't think it's essential to run them before installing DayZ, but if you use DayZ commander or Six Launcher/Updater then it will look for the ARMA OA folder to create your "@DayZ" folders in, if the ARMA 2 OA folder doesn't exist for the launchers to put the sub directory in it might cause issues. Best to follow one of the many online guides and do it in the recommended order using DayZ commander as DayZ is a bitch to install and play, even to those of us who have been playing it a very long time :)

Did you miss the fact that the heli never runs out of fuel and the hacker actually got out to restock the ammo in it? People making threads and crying when hackers teleport them and kill them and then staying with a hacker screaming "AWESOME" when raping new spawns on the coast, so hypocritical.

To the guys saying no, you will lose all your stuff when the standalone comes out anyway, so where's the problem? I agree it would be devestating to lose +40,000 humanity for me as I die almost every day working for it, but I'll take the hit for the greater good of wiping the multitude of hacked weapons and stopping the monotomy of people just gearing up at the randoms tents full of gear within 500m of any spawn point. Perma-Death has absolutly no meaning right now for 80% of players in the game, you have to bring that back for this to succeed in it's intended form. Plus, most people with over 100 days survived have 2 accounts and only log-in on the second account once a week for 20 seconds, I don't think people deserve to be at the top of the leaderboard for that. Voted Yes, and agree a wipe should happen each update.

I really can't understand why 14/15 year old want to play with clans where the average age is 27-37 years old. I see hundreds of forums posts in here with 15-17 year olds posting clans. However I can see a lot of reasons why 27-37 year olds wouldn't want to play with a 14/15 year old. Your maturity is just one of the smaller issues here, some do act more mature, however I don't want your parents venting at me becasue I spoke about perverted sex jokes in front of you or linked a porn movie outake to the Teamspeak channel. If clans do have an age limit, it's to protect us, just as much as it is to protect you - if you think theres no paedophiles in online gaming I think you'd be mistaken.

I've never had the chance to see these no PvP rules in action since I've been kicked off DE 1306 around 20 times for just daring to join it. I was searching for a nice friendly server, thought I'd found it, then keep getting kicked. I don't kill people, I have zero interest in taking any vehicles, I just wanted somewhere hacker free and well admined to hang around and raid a few supermarkets in the NE for food while my friends were all offline. It seemed admins were online all the time so I chose this server. Despite all the arguments going on in this thread and others, it can't be right hosting a public server and then to kick every person just for daring to join your server. It gives all the honest admins a bad name :(

As a +29,400 hero it certainly feels a lot harder and it seems, in my opinion, a lot more skill is needed to avoid killing people than shooting on sight, therefore the rewards feel so much better whilst conducting raids/med resupplies. I'm sure people have fun on both sides of this game, but for me there's nothing to beat the buzz of a player passing yards from you when you've got your sights aimed on his head and him not even knowing you were there.

Sounds like it was a non Hive server by the way people are talking about what gear they have on their mains, still a totally epic occurance so many random friendlies on a server, I wish that happened to me a little more :)

I am guessing it won't matter which method he downloads DayZ, his problem looks like it's nothing to do with DayZ, but it's his ARMA 2 OA installation. You have to be able to run both ARMA 2 and ARMA 2:OA for ARMA 2:Combined Operations at least once, DayZ will not work until he can run them. Sorry fella, I see no choice but a new ARMA 2:AO download :( Edit: That was for thuggles, not you AndreasB lol

There is a run game option in DayZ Commander, took me a while to find it also, click settings, then the 6th line down, under "additional launch parameters" is called "Launch DayZ now" just hit that. If you are getting errors with CD keys then it's becasue you need to install DayZ and the ARMA Beta patch using dayZ commander, then simply run ARMA 2 and ARMA 2 OA once each to get your keys to register.

This should be awesome fun to watch, especially with the ability to watch multiple streams at once :)

No, it's always there and doesn't reset on death, although sometimes it gets bugged to 0 when you die but it settles down to its correct value after a while playing. Your correct total figure from when you started playing the game is being recorded correctly at the Hive it seems, it just sometimes bugs and you can lose backpacks through constantly morphing from surv into bandit/hero until it settles down.

I'm glad to see there does remain a shred of humanity out there, unfortunatly for me it's been weeks since I saw any acts of kindness and I've been KoS so many times now it's getting ridiculous, especially with this spawning at the coast everytime I log-in. I swore earlier never to kill another player in this game as I probably never would in a real life Zombie Apocolypse, but in the past week I've had to kill 3 in self defence, even with me talking to them openly on mic saying I don't kill other players. Most of the time I run away when under fire but with the amount of hacked weapons floating about it's hard to run from an AS50 TWS. Like so many people that aim to be "good" in this game I am being forced to play in a way I don't want to because 96% of players shoot on sight. I've been playing since mid June and still have 26,337 humanity but I'm enjoying this game less and less as time goes on since it's turned into some retarded CoD simulator. I'm praying the skiddies, hackers and CoD kiddies find another game when the standalone comes out otherwise I'd say it's experiment failed by Rocket.

I agree with GiggityGump, I don't mind PvP happening, but when it's just unskilled retards sat in the hills sniping new spawns with no weapons in Cherno or Electro then it's not PvP, they are no threat to you with no weapons. The best PvP with skilled players tends to happen in Stary or the NW Airfield in my playing experience.
