  1. So with the Tents being "buggy" and vehicles a little too hard for the average player to locate/repair is there anywhere at all to store your valuables. I will be the first to admit that im a terrible shot, so when i find exceptionally good loot but decide to go on a hunt for say some food i would at least like to be able to stash some of my valuable stuff in case i get ganked whilst cow hunting.

  4. Personally, i think it is due to the fact that a majority of players now shoot EVERYONE on sight.
  5. IMHO the best suggestion has already been mentioned. Simply do not allow people to LOG OUT in certain areas (or if that is to hard to code then don't allow logging out inside ANY building) This would save all the hassle of writing code/scrips for checking if zeds/survivors were nearby, or finding a random spawnpoint etc. For example, a hatchet wont let you harvest wood unless you are in a forest, simply apply that criteria to a log out request.
  6. +1 for all the posts referring to the Zeds new "spidey sense" Played on a night-time server, used my "normal" route to go from the Church to the Supermarket in Elektro (in crouch mode), within seconds i had virtually every zombie in town after my a$$.. Also even going from prone to crouch upstairs in the residential house in Elektro caused a ton of Zeds to aggro and do a "rorke's drift" on the house

    I personally LOVE the new starting conditions. IF a zombie outbreak occurred i would class myself lucky have anything on me at all, let alone a torch and bandage. I think it would be HIGHLY unlikely that anyone would find themselves in the position of having a firearm with a few extra clips etc. I have absolutely no problem obtaining a weapon within a relatively short space of time, but it is definately an exhilarating experience creeping around looking for one.

    Something to do with this? - 1.7.1.2 server crashed. I come back. And my M4A1 camo SD' date=' NVG, GPS, Wirekit, Toolbox, M9 is gone. Inventory has items that i didn't have. Also i start with Makarov in my hand. I was middle of the forest. Weird that only the good stuf was removed by a bug? Backpack was still there with all the items in it. [/quote'] From what i understand. Makarovs replace "hacked" weapons. And not to sound funny, but the list of items you lost DO sound very similar to a hackers survival kit.

  14. Same here. Latest Dayz Alpha and latest Arma2 Beta. Servers of 20+ players. Maximum time before crash = Around 10 mins. Severity on the Gamebreaking scale = Critical

  16. Thought it would be good to have a "Rules for Survival" list, something similar to the ones created by the protagonist in the movie Zombieland. An example of his first few rules were:- 1: "Cardio" 2: "Double tap" 3: "Beware of bathrooms" 4: "Seatbelts" If you would like to add a small line as to describe the reason for the rule then feel free. I'll start the list of with the first Five. Ok, so on to the list... DayZ, Rules For Survival. 1: "Know your enemy". He may look slow, but that shambling Zombie will turn into Usain Bolt once he gets a whiff of you. 2: "Aim for the Head". Even the crappiest of guns will one-shot a Zed if aimed at the noggin. 3: "Don't bring a knife to a gunfight". Ok, so we don't have knives (yet) but the principal is the same. Upgrade your starter weapon ASAP, Zeds may not shoot back, but you can bet your ass (some) other players will. 4: "Learn to Crawl before you can Walk". What's good for babies is good for us. It may be tempting to run/sprint everywhere due to the enormity of the map but that will just earn you a whole lot of new Zed buddies or some hot lead from a Bandit. Move cautiously until you have learned the best times/places to double-time it. 5: "If in doubt wait it out". So, you see another survivor running in your general direction, he cant see you yet. You want to rush out and greet him...But WAIT!....Is he a potential "Bean Thief"? Or even worse, an Ex-COD player? Identify the individual and ask him if he is Friend of Foe (of course he could lie) and THEN decide on a course of action. Sometimes discretion is the better part of valor and it may end up being prudent to just stay where you are.

It's not on the first post. Maybe i'm just blind :huh:
  18. When i click to "Climb up ladder" my guy autoclimbs (quite quickly) up the ladder. I have no control over him at all (ie. i cant decide to stop halfway). Climbing down (or not) is a different kettle of fish altogether. I choose "Climb Down Ladder" my guy gets on said ladder, appears to be climbing (up) for a split second and then gets off the ladder (still at the top). This is a gamebreaker for me and wondered if anyone else has experienced it. Everything was fine before the update. I have tried a clean install (Arma2/OA and Dayz) but still getting the same thing. Thanks in advance.
  19. You're a star, thanks. I had NumPad-4 set to climb up and for some reason it was constantly active. My keyboard is ok so im wondering wether Num-Lock being on had anything to do with it. All working fine now tho TYVM.
