    Alt+F4 doesn't work?

I could care less when people combat log, because I don't see murdering others as a competition in this game. Can't wait till they make it realistic to the point where you have to keep track of your own stats.
  2. Can't go wrong with a cheap mic. If someone doesn't respond to me when I bump into them around town, I consider that to be unfriendly. The only way around it is to hotkey salute and hope no one shoots on sight.
  3. Many, many servers are plagued with major cities FULL of abandoned wire fencing. When I started playing, I thought it was a cool idea, but it got to a point where I was getting denied access to the better part of crucial survival areas in major cities by people that aren't even logged in. Duping and scripting add to the problem, but that is another topic. I seem to have a very difficult time finding a toolbox, and I think I may have found more GPS's than I have toolboxes, yet I tend to find fencing kits rather consistently. It wouldn't be so terrible if only newer spawns and undergeared people had issues with fencing, but even when I find myself geared to the teeth, I rarely have a toolbox when playing solo. With the tents and vehicles being terribly unreliable for saving gear, populated servers seem to be restarted less and less, and unmanned fencing can quickly become an epidemic on a server. I rarely, if ever, see entrenching tools and sandbags, so they have yet to prove themselves as a problem. Tank and bear traps are a different story though. They are small, require tactical use, but can be a pain to find. Rarely will 1 tank trap or 1 bear trap shut down an entire area of a high traffic building, but when used correctly, can give a massive tactical advantage against player and zombie alike. Tank traps are excellent for funneling traffic around and inside buildings, and bear traps serve as a great tool for covering your back inside buildings. Neither are easily spammed to make an area impassible, yet can still give a massive advantage to a player that uses them wisely. The only way I can envision to fix the issue without changing realism or immersion is to tweak the rarity of the items. Keep the toolbox and entrenching tool relatively rare, but drop the rarity of wire kits down to that of sandbags. In turn, crank up the commonality of bear traps to that of tank traps. Players will find them more often, use them more often, and learn that they are ineffective if used incorrectly. Before you knock the idea of more bear traps, at this stage, they are pretty unreliable. Honestly, wire fences are more efficient at breaking a players legs, lol. TL:DR: Make wire fencing as rare as sandbags. Make bear traps as common as tank traps. It will reduce fence spamming and encourage tactical equipment usage without effecting immersion.

    Time for a trader forum?

General discussion and her subforums have been plagued with tons of trade threads with 0 replies. Personally, I don't like the idea of trading items by switching servers, as I like the realism in not being able to step through alternate dimensions to give people a ghillie, but it happens. The thing that bugs me is the trade posts are, more often than not, traps, and they constantly push relevant topics off the front page of discussion. Give them their own forum, please.
  5. With improvements. Direct communication is the only thing you can use until you find a radio, at which point, you can select from a wide range of frequencies for communication with others that use radios. Maybe you could add a headset to the game that allows you to use your radio without making any excessive noise.
  6. I think the biggest problem with them is mobility. A magazine of .50 is heavy and bulky, and should take up 2-3 spots. Running and turning speed should be drastically reduced, accuracy should be terrible from any position but prone, and firing while standing/moving should result in shock, a broken bone, need for painkillers, blood loss, etc. The issue isn't the 1 shot kill, it's that people are just as mobile with a 1 shot kill rifle as they are with a submachine gun or pistol, so there isn't any downside to going parkour with an anti-armor weapon.

1 makarov shot brings down a helicopter...

I found the vid, good shot by the way.

is there any bandit killers still?

I don't know anyone that doesn't shoot people in bandit skins.
  9. Weapons aren't hard to figure out, especially military weapons. They are designed to be used by soldiers, Marines, airmen, sailors, etc. and a lot of dopes make their way into the service. Military weapons are built around simplicity and reliability, and any 15 year old that had one for 15 minutes would be able to figure out how to load and fire the weapon. In a real survival situation, if you found an animal, would it matter than you don't know how to properly field dress an animal? No! You would chop that bitch up and grab everything that looked like good meat. They could add a system that increases your ability/yield to complete a task by the more times you do it, but your in game life span is so short anyways...

    Suggestion for excessive wire fencing

Considering the setting of rural Russian farms, I would imagine bear traps to be a LOT more common.
  11. Rocket is right, but you're not seeing the big picture. The part where real life experience comes in comes in the survival part of the game, not the fighting/performing mouse wheel tasks. Let's say you're group sets up a plan to run through the NW airfield, and a different group on the server is on the opposite end of the runway, planning a run from the other direction. While we're at it, let's say the group of guys you are about to cross paths with are all former MARSOC Marines with excessive operational experience. Do you think that your group would approach and execute the airfield run in the same ways? Tactical advantage comes into play in this game, and knowledge of such will really excel your ability to play and experience the mod. There are also a lot of little things, like if you get lost at night, look up. If you know how to find your way with the stars in real life, you can do it in the game as well.

No one goes up north anymore..

Now that I think about it, I haven't been in a gunfight in the North in a while.

    M40A3?

This question is answered pretty accurately about 6 times a day.
  14. Mines, and the reasons why. Primary: Winchester Secondary: G17 I do things backwards I guess. I normally try to survive with military weapons, and bandit with civilian ones. I've noticed the weapon you are carrying really effects things when people are deciding to shoot you. I've had people let me live due to my "PvE" primary on more than a couple occasions, which always leads to an easy kill. I keep the banditing to Lingor though.

    Ddos on dayz?

    Who's talkin' 'bout dildos?
  16. RaysGoodLiquor

    I need a ghilliesuit

Why would you want a ghillie to do anything but camp? Targets are first selected by their motion, and then identified by their camo. If you are moving, it won't matter what you are wearing, because you're going to stick out like a big traveling bush. I think the ghillie has the largest silhouette of all the skins, meaning your movement will be easier to pick up on. Just saying.
  17. Gentlemen... I've been playing the game for about a month now, and have dumped quite a few hours. I've experienced numerous aspects of the game, and only have a couple more goals to achieve (helicopter sad face). I've played both ends of the humanity scale, and on Chenarus, I prefer to be helpful, simply because the massive threat scripters cause. It's nice to see bandits and survivors on the same side for at least 1 cause. Either or, I get the banditing out of my system on Lingor, and have decided to try my hand at being a medic. I understand the gist of the job description, but I'm in need of tips to consistently store/gather medical equipment, avoid death by other players, travel effectively if server hopping, and general medicocity (real word?). I've picked up that smarter bandits won't always kill someone using a PVE directed weapon, but that's about the best I've done.
  18. RaysGoodLiquor

    Soldier Camo(Suit)

My mistake. I've seen a ton of scripters lately changing their skin to military zombies. I was unaware this even existed.
  19. RaysGoodLiquor

What is the best sidearm to you?

1911/revolver until they fix the infinite ammo glitch. When that gets dealt with, I'm going back to the Glock.
  20. RaysGoodLiquor

    Soldier Camo(Suit)

Soldier suit as in camo or a military zombie skin? Now that you mention it, what the hell is a "soldier suit?"
  21. RaysGoodLiquor

    Soldier Camo(Suit)

Doesn't change the fact that you are equipping a giant target as a skin.
  22. RaysGoodLiquor

    Soldier Camo(Suit)

Yea, I assume everyone with an unavailable skin is scripting, and I do everything within my power to kill them as soon as possible, even when I'm running around as a medic. Be careful putting that one, because a lot of people are going to assume you are scripting and want blood.

    how to install 1.7.2.5

Download Dayz Commander and never use Six Launcher again. Problem solved, and game updated with a click of the mouse.

[TRADE] Need Ghillie suit & SVD Camo

Hmm, I'd die just to make your day a little harder. Where do you want to meet?
  25. RaysGoodLiquor

    I need a ghilliesuit

Why do you need a ghillie? Are you about to die and a bush suit will save you? Ghillie suits fit the playstyle of people that like to sit still for a long ass time, and only benefits the individual in a pvp environment. I'd rather not give you one, simply for the sake of having one less person living their entire life on the hillside North East of Elektro.
