they should make non PVP servers!!

The true threat of zombies is firing on them and alerting other players of your presence.
  2. Lupin-III

    Really?.... REALLY?!

Not always. I've shot someone in the back of the head with a makarov from a few meters away, and it merely knocked him unconscious. I bandaged him and left him alive... figure if someone lives through a headshot, they deserve a second chance.

Yeah! And he would force YOU to play on the PVE servers with him! AT GUNPOINT. Your PVP experience will be ruweened! RUWEENED!
  4. 1. Modern anti-material rifles are not anti-tank weapons. They are ineffective against modern armored vehicles. They are used for disabling vehicles such as technicals, equipment like generators, radar, comms, gun emplacements and other soft targets. 2. The proper way to balance them would be to make them use up far more inventory space (20 slots or more) or take up both the primary AND backpack slot, and give them enormous barrel swing when not being used from a prone position (you can't fire a 30lb rifle accurately without a bipod), and reduce running speed and eliminate sprinting. The damage is fine, I'm have no issue with being killed by a single shot from one.
  5. When the zombie apocalypse takes place in a small country, during a war, occupied by the armies of two nations, and supported by NATO forces... there will be military weapons available.
  6. What you encountered were probably hackers, and hackers use hacks because they're not good enough to play the game on a level playing field.

Would you like the .950 JDJ in DayZ?

Which is why the M107 and AS50 should take up the backpack slot.

Someone with a difference of opinion! QUICK, BURN HIM!
  9. I consider that a good thing. A supermarket, four major farms, numerous bicycle spawns, and ten deerstands within 3km.
  10. Segregation is awesome. Can we make the black people use different water fountains again too?
  11. Wipe all hacked inventory, all legit inventory. Five minutes later, all hacked inventory is replaced. Legit players get free lube.
  12. Where do hackers come in? The backdoor, where they hijack tens of thousands of people's information in one quick breach. Hasn't happened to you yet? It's happened to me. You know how much of hassle it is to deal with, even if your card never gets used? You're far more trusting with your private information than I am. I absolutely despise the amount of online activities that require me to give them billing information, especially if no money is changing hand. Linking an account to a cd-key is authorization enough. If people want to buy the game over and over again because they're getting banned for breaking rules, let them.
  13. Codemaster's EGO engine for the newer Operation Flashpoint games could easily do a better job at this game. It's still got the bullet physics, the large play areas, better hit location, damage physics, has the wide variety of guns, far more building interiors, superior graphics, and still manages to run at a higher framerate. It's still a simulator engine, but it's more polished and better experience than the aging Real Virtuality system. I do prefer ARMA 2's aircraft and helicopter handling though and overall variety of vehicles. I've got Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis, ARMA, ARMA2 (obviously), Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, and Operation Flashpoint: Red River... I've pretty much experienced everything both engines have to offer up to this point. The Real Virtuality system has not evolved much, and is barely a visual upgrade from what it looked like in Cold War Crisis. The X-Ray engine from S.T.A.L.K.E.R. would also be a fantastic choice for a zombie apocalypse game.

What is your favorite gun to use and why?

Any M4 variant will do for me.
  15. I am intrigued by your suggestions. Can I just give my credit card info directly to the hackers?

    theytThis gaming community....

I love it when a tantrum is thrown, whining about whining. One of these days a whining-about-whining thread is going to happen that is so powerful... everyone on earth will instantly sprout a vagina and experience a heavy flow.

Your Best Story Of Avoiding Death Legit

The whole thing with crawling through the forest after getting shot, to crawling to the hospital was nerve wracking... passing out from blood loss really makes things stressful. That was the longest I've lasted in the game, but it was from before the hacking problem was so out of hand. Since then, I'm lucky to last two days.
  18. I hate the debug monitor. It gets in the way and takes up too much screen. Plus I have to play the game at a far lower resolution than I want to, because if I bump it up any higher, there is no combination of 3D and UI resolution that won't cause the debug monitor to cover up the color coded UI elements. I just want the option to disable it entirely... don't care if other people use it, I just want the choice to make it go away.

    Graphic's in the standalone dayZ

According to the tweakguides I've read for ARMA 2, setting your video memory to high is a mistake as it actually causes a bottleneck. Keep it at default, which allows it to use as much as needed. Take a look at this tweak guide and you could probably increase your graphics quality and your framerate at the same time. http://www.rockpaper...ull=1#post76042

Make hacking LEGAL - read before rage

In the past, whenever I entered a cheat code into a game... it had the effect of me losing all interest in the game. There was just no point in playing it anymore.

    Graphic's in the standalone dayZ

Yet it still manages to look dated... and it manages to look dated because it IS dated. The engine has barely been improved since it began life in Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis over a decade ago. It's an aged, inefficient engine. Life would be good if DayZ had been developed on the EGO engine that Codemaster uses in the new Operation Flashpoint games. It's quite similar, has its merits and flaws, but it's an overall better gaming experience than the Real Virtuality engine.

Your Best Story Of Avoiding Death Legit

I got sniped in the forest northwest of Cherno, the first shot missed so I started running... a couple shots later and the guy hit me, it broke a leg and knocked me unconscious... but I fell behind a tree. I came to with around 1500 blood and managed to bandage myself. I then crawled through a black and white forest for close to 40 minutes, trying to get around to where I thought the shots came from. Never found the guy, never got shot at again... and I was pretty thorough about checking the area. I eventually crawled all the way back into Cherno to get morphine, and witnessed a shootout take place in the apartments right across the street from the hospital. I snuck around back and fortunately there was a medical box at the base of the ladder, so I patched myself up and booked on out of there. It took a full two days of scrounging for canned food before I finally found a box of matches in Berezino, and a cow in the orchard nearby finally got me back to full health. That character lasted for another 19 days when a hacker wiped out everyone on the server. I had racked up near 600 zombie kills and 2 murders, 3 self-defense murders, and 2 bandit kills. Haven't really had a good survival adventure like that since then.

Pro's and Con's of Private servers

Just so you know, you can go into the players tab in the map menu and mute any player's microphone from there.
