For the past few years I have been running intel chips exclusively after having been a long time AMD "fan boy". but now I want to revive my old desktop to play DayZ on, my laptop has an intel i7 and 16GB ram which is awesome for my work, but it leaves a lot to be desired in the gfx department. since my Desktop has an old Core2 Duo Socket LGA775 and Asus Mobo that is limited to 4GB Ram and a GeForce 8400 it will run DayZ but not as good as my laptop... Since I don't want to break the bank reviving an old desktop I was using as an in home dev server just to play games on... I am looking back to AMD for the much better pricing. I was looking at replacing the Mobo/CPU first, then the GFX Card, then maxing out the ram in a 3 step process. CPU I was looking at is the AMD FX-8120 Zambezi 3.1GHz Socket AM3+ I was thinking about pairing it up with the ASUS Sabertooth 990FX AM3+ Mobo then a couple weeks after getting a new gfx card Type TBD then lastly pumping 32GB Ram in it. Not really gonna worry about an SSD, I dont mind waiting the 45 seconds or so for Windows to load lol. I figured I would get an aftermarket heatsink and OC the cpu to 4.0Ghz to 4.6Ghz depending on what temps I can keep it at. its hard to beat $160 for an 8 core cpu, Just wondering if anyone is running it and what I can expect from it.

What do you do to make the game fun? honestly? After a week, zombies pose no threat, gearing up is a snap, and you can live in the woods indefinitely... if I wanted to log in, sit by a tent and a camp fire and eventually eat/drink I would just assume stay logged out. pvp makes this game fun. Sure some people like doing the medic thing, but that's few and far between and I can see that getting just as old as sitting by a tent... who really wants to log in, spend 30+ minutes running to a guy, helping him, then logging out? Shooting people that don't even know you are there is kinda boring too... I like to know they had a ton of fear or an adrenaline rush before I get them (or they get me). once pvp gets boring I guess I could always troll new players with vehicles on the coast... stop and honk, as they run up just drive off a few hundred meters then stop and honk again lol.

I was playing on US 843 tonight and found a tent just outside balota airstrip with a G36 and some other hacked in weapons, I left the weapons in it and didn't have a way to destroy it, but you might want to take into consideration those guys may have been new and found a similar tent (or the same one) and just didn't know they were hacked.

Still doesn't compensate for using a hacked in gun. You could have killed the guy with a hacked in Makarov SD from 800+ meters and I would still think the video is gay. If you kill a hacker or find a body with hacked in gear you should just hide the body. I would love to see them make stricter rules on that and start killing players that pick up any weapon that doesn't belong in game.

He stated in the post they had a UAZ nearby... I thought the video was funny, I would have done the same thing if I already had a vehicle.
