So I lost my M16A2 but found a DMR at Balota Airstrip. I figured that I would give an honest attempt at sniping other snipers and/or bandits. So on the clock/bell tower in cherno I broke my legs just by laying prone (not recorded), I then proceed to miss a headshot on a running target (eh it happens). Fail #1: Then another sniper starts shooting all around me, not sure where they were in order to get all the angles on me, but their aim is terrible. Fail#2: while taking refuge on the back side of the tower I fall the hell off of it, just to be saved by a ledge... then fall the hell off that and die :( http://youtu.be/1TwuN50qWOI Long story short, I am pretty sure I'm done with sniping.

LOL, if I ever manage to get a chopper im gonna fly around till almost out of fuel, then stash my gear in a tent and crash the chopper into cherno or electro :)

Yeah, this was my first "real" attempt at sniping, I had never been up in that spot before so I wanted to check it out, I figured other snipers would spot me sooner or later lol.

Yeah it pisses me off when people combat log so I don't do it. I don't even abort to clear zombies. Death doesn't phase me, it just forces me to get back on the grind and find new gear that I hopefully haven't had yet.

LOL, yeah I have lost gear like that in the past... I proned under a pine tree and went outside to smoke a cig(4-5min) and when I got back I logged out, guess that wasn't long enough for the server :(

You can really notice it with the chopper fly-by and the end gunfight when theres no gunshots going along with whats happening on screen lol.

Eh, its all irrelevant now, I jumped in a bush to lose zombie aggro, and while stationary some guys saw the zombies running towards the bush and hosed me down with AK's I spawned close to where I died and went back to my body, all my gear was still there so I grabbed it hid my body and logged... logged back in and my gear is gone. But I managed to find a DMR in Balota Airstrip right away so I cant complain, the DMR is a great all around rifle (on servers with crosshairs at least)

The audio was waaaaay out of sync. like 15-20 seconds. if the audio wasn't off so much it would have been a decent video.

What up people, I mainly play lone wolf and don't usually keep gear for long because I like putting myself in stupid situations and most gear is easily replaced. When I play I record a lot of video and its getting kinda boring just talking to myself. I like to run around the coastal towns hunting people down and deciding on the spot if they live or die. I am NOT looking to join a clan because I don't want to feel obligated to play on other peoples schedules. I play when I want and with who. I don't want to put an age limit so here is my criteria. 1) Must be mature (If you have to ask how mature is mature enough, you probably don't meet the requirements, feel free to stop reading now) 2) Must not have a little kid voice. doesn't matter to me if you are 9 and haven't hit puberty yet or are 19 and just a late bloomer... if your voice it high pitched and squeeky feel free to stop reading now (no offense). 2a) If you are a female a high pitched voice comes with the territory and you are exempt lol. 3) Preferably be out on your own or have your own machine... I don't want to be forced to record you as your mom yells at you to share the computer with your sister. Despite that being DayZ/Youtube gold. 4) Must have a way to Voice Chat outside the game, Skype/TS/Vent. I am not about to use in game voice chat and get us killed. Going back to Number 1, I am a 28yr old man and the antics of childish idiots doesn't entertain me. I am in the United States (Arizona) so similar timezone would be cool, though not really required since I work from home and play whenever. As for gear, I don't really care what you have. I usually die a lot because I like fighting in cherno/elektro, running through the forest for hours on end isn't fun anymore lol. Right now I am kitted up with an M16A2 6 mags and some other stuff that doesn't really matter. I am not a sniper, I don't have the patience for that. Your DayZ skill level isn't really of importance to me, if you are new I can show you the ropes and get you geared, if you are an old hand at the game then we can go straight to ambushing other players. If we do meet and I shoot you in the face unexpectedly, you most likely didn't meet all of my requirements. If you return to your body and it has been hidden, then you know you really really annoyed me.

The Vietnam war was terrible, they told the soldiers that the M16 needed no cleaning/maintenance at all, hence why it jammed so much on them. If you want a gun you can clean with murky pond water, go with an AK, if you want a more accurate rifle and dont mind servicing it, go with an M16 lol.

The M16 is a dirty bitch yes... but I would have to disagree on the jamming every 2-3 mags. If you properly clean your firearms at respectable intervals you should have a very minimal amount of malfunctions. check this out: http://www.slip2000.com/blog/s-w-a-t-magazine-filthy-14/ its not uncommon to get an AR15/M16 pattern rifle to perform well. If his game took place in Afghanistan and dust/sand was everywhere, then yes I could see issues coming up, but not religiously after 2-3 mags. it all depends on how the rifle was cared for.

Supposedly the M16A2 does get a further effective range than the M4A1 which makes sense. as far as doing more dmg, I am not sure that would really matter, at the velocities the bullets are traveling and the ft/lbs of energy being transferred into the target either way its going to hit you like a truck. since the mags are STANAG it is safe to say that all of the bullets are going to be 5.56NATO FMJ which arent going to deliver all of their energy anyhow because they will zip right through a human target unless they hit a considerably strong bone. All of that seems like a bit much to calculate just for a game. I think the main reason for this is the game's damage tables are actually stored with the ammo and not effected by the weapon shooting it, STANG vs STANAG SD, or M9 vs M9SD etc. P.S. I also reload for my firearms, dont have a chrono yet though so I stick to the recommended load data and make plinking ammo. I have 100 rnds of Winchester .223 Brass, CCI primers, Hornady VMax bullets powered by Varget powder... now I just need to take a long enough break from DayZ to go shooting lol
