First piece of advise... Comic Sans is a shit-tastic font. As for the gear... well thats up to you, supposedly you cant get banned for using known hacked gear so long as you didn't spawn it. unless all you want to do is PVP and kill shit, then thats cool, otherwise, having all the top grade gear kinda takes the fun out of looking for it imho

its unlike any game I have played... Don't expect it to be and FPS like CoD where you run and gun.... its about 10,000x slower than CoD. How it is, when you are new to the game and spawn, you start out somewhere on the shoreline, it tells you where briefly in the bottom right. After you spawn you have jack shit, a back pack, flashlight, bandage, pain pills, and maybe one other item I cant think of that is equally useless at helping you defend yourself. just like in real survival you have three main needs... Food, Shelter, and Water. in this case, replace shelter with either defense or sustainability(will explain in a minute). so what you need to do right away, is decide whether you want to play it safe away from hordes of zombies, or if you want to go the risk vs. reward method and risk all the zombies for the reward of some good loot. sometimes that decision gets made for you. The first thing you want to do is find either soda cans or water bottles... you don't technically need a gun if you are smart. Dehydration will set in before hunger so water is Absolutely #1 on your list. basically keep your head down and don't expect to pick up an M4 or AK for a long time. Avoid zombies, but be a ghost to people, other players will turn your head into a canoe before you can even announce you are friendly. This video is long but not bad.

So, last night and tonight I have teamed up with another DayZ player to run around and loot up (one of these days we will both get fully equipped and get to take shit out lol...) anyway, tonight when we decide to meet up we are about 20-30km from each other. we join up on a server that is night time and coordinate a meeting spot. I go prone down under a tree and I think I see him to my right, we are on skype so I tell him to stop and he does... but the person to my right kept running, at first I thought it was lag but it was not. So to signal my general location to him, I toss a flare about 30m out into a clearing. he heads to the flare and hides in some trees outside the light and kicks on his flashlight so I can head to him. Once we meet up we hang out there for a little bit, he drinks a soda and eats some meat then takes a quick afk. while he is afk, my original flare burns out. I am not paying much attention to the pc, and am looking away doing other stuff.. I look up and see another flare going.... WTF! I assume it was lag since it was in the general area as the first flare and go back about my business of not paying attention while my buddy is afk. I look back up, 3 more flares are burning, one waaaay out in the field farther that I could possible throw. Ahhhhh shit... I just realised... We aren't alone. He has binoculars and I have a sniper rifle so he starts scanning the distance (it was a full moon) and I try to then realizing I am shaking way too bad to see anything in my scope and have no pain pills. he see's a guy running from the small village being chased by zombies headed to cherno... shit... that's where we are headed. we let the flares burn out, book it across the field and get to the outskirts of cherno... what do we see? Another flare. by a building to our left. we scope it out a bit and another flare to the right pops.... fuck... fuck it... we head into cherno in the dark spots and manage to aggro zombies. during the chase we get split up so he pops 3 flares outside the house he dipped into and we meet back up. this house with 3 flares outside is lit up like a beacon in the night to anyone wanting a gunfight so we get out and go prone. at that time we here some idiots talking on direct comm voice chatting looking for us. he catches a glimpse of them and opens fire breaking a guys leg and they split up. so we run around a fence and head in to finish the job. after I got around a brick wall to join the fight I am running up where my friend and the guy with a broken leg are exchanging gunfire, then BAM BAM BAM. someone shot me in the back and I die. My friend kills another one of the people in the group and thinks the job is finished because we both thought there were only 2 guys. when hes coming back to drag/loot my body the guy that killed me kills him too. so yes... flares are awesome tactical devices for signaling your friends and lighting up areas... but they also signal other players to your general location... oh and they distract zombies, as if that's much benefit :rolleyes:

Yeah, it doesn't hurt that I upgraded my systems RAM to 16GB either lol, I can have Komodo IDE 7, Adobe PS and Adobe DW running while playing this game lol. I think I may go into the bios and dedicate even more ram to gfx and see if that helps anything at all. I doubt it.

Very long winded explanations and instead of just cutting scenes to the location that is far away, you should actually do a FFWD of the video in some video editing software so it shows people the routes you take. Other than that, its not bad... I watched all 35min which is the longest intro video I have seen and watched all of.

I have an HP DV7 Laptop, I dont think he has the same system as me. The gfx card on this laptop is special as it piggybacks off the CPU and uses some of the systems ram. as you can see my gfx card only has 64mb, but I can run the game on normal settings just fine. I have a monitor(21" LCD) hooked up via the HDMI port so the resolution is higher than the laptops 17" screen so I have to scale back the 3d resolution to 80% to keep it from getting slightly choppy. I avg 35ish fps in game not super wonderful, but very playable without having to deal with total shit gfx. Edit: screw pasting, attaching file lol DxDiag.txt

You should be able to play the game on low/normal settings with that setup.
