knowing what I know now after having played the game, I probably would not buy the game until it is standalone, the graphical errors and hackers really annoy the crap out of me, but on the other hand I do enjoy the game. After buying Arma 2, and now hearing the game may go standalone in a month, if the standalone version costs more than $20 I probably wont buy it, not until all the hacking vulnerabilities are fixed at least. because I dont see any sense in paying over $50 for a game that is in alpha that I will likely have to re-buy upon launch.

He had to have been working on it already then, to up and switch engines or write your own, is not a simple process. Especially since the mod is written in Arma's scripting language, not compiled into the engines code. if he went with a new engine he would have to re-write all of the logic in C++ or in the new engines scripting language.

it would taske a LOT longer than until september to create a standalone game, even if he went with a ready to go engine like the torque 3d Engine.

The majority of play is done alone, or in small groups... teaming up is really fun and adds new dynamics to the game

You guys should play Fallout 3, if you want to and have the gear/armor you can go buck nutty and take out the majority of these "safe zones" they are places where you can stop in your travels to gear up. No one is saying you even have to use the "safe zone" but as the game grows and more people play there will be more and more coastal bitch slappings, on brand new players or vets that messed up and got whacked. Central "Safe Zones" are bound to happen, look at season 3 of the walking dead.... the trailer shows there is some big built up city, they take over a prison to use as a strong hold... shit like this needs to happen eventually. Zombies should also migrate, the woods being a safe zone from zombies is kinda unrealistic imho.

hmmm Maybe just get better at ditching zombies and sprint through the towns and go town to town. the zombies will never catch you unless you run into a chain link fence you didnt see or something lol. I do the sprinting grab-n-go method a lot when I get irritated and there arent a lot of people on the server.

You got my beans for having a Walter White Avatar... I dont get amazing performance, but I get pretty good performance and my laptop has an almost nonexistent gfx card, but I have an i7 and 16GB ram, and my gfx card piggy backs off the CPU and Ram.
