Application: Name: Eidos (Drew) Age: 23 Time zone: CST Experience: Several Months, Previous clan (D2A) had their own server. Also we had a private war with another clan called baptized by fire. I know the basics and am a very independent player. I don't want to be geared out by others, and I am really just looking for another team to play with when I have a chance to. I'm in my senior year in college and can only play a few hours a week at most. Sometimes not at all. My last clan (D2A) fell apart because we all had similar things going on, school, new jobs, etc. What you can bring to us: Another qualified gun and set of eyes. I will only play legitimately, and honorably. Play Style: Casual, but professional. I have spent most of my time playing with the DMR, but I like to play with some basic strategy depending on the crew's strengths at a given moment. Good teamwork? just keep playing legit. enjoy it. I'll be honest here, I have one tent with one set of gear in it, that reproduced on server restarts, and I'll be glad to see that change. I had squad mates who had huge tent complexes that are ridiculous. But he built them legitimately. Took him hours and hours, but they still duped. I look forward to those tents being smashed and emptied, too. The hackers will fade out as more people get back into the game with these problems fixed. Most legitimate players quit or took breaks and a lot of servers shut down because of this nonsense. When they get come back, the numbers will even out. If your having that big of a problem. You oughta look into additional software to help monitor the log files on the server. Not a server admin myself, so not very knowledgeable on this topic. So glad this fix is coming out, finally.

New Players Important Information on Cheating

haha. combat logging can be quite rediculous. a guy shoots down our helicopter with a .50 cal. im on the ground nearby so i post up with a dmr covering the crash site. about 30 minutes later here comes the guy. i hit him in the shoulder blades after 3 shots and he disconnects. then when my team is coming back in to loot their corpses, he logs back in under a different name and picks one of them off. so i promptly hit him in the belly with a dmr round and again he logs off. this kind of behavior is really annoying. he has combat logged 3 times on my team and the fourth time my team got him before he could. I personally wish that we could ban for this kind of behavior, but we haven't done it yet, as we are waiting for a legitimate reason like scripting to issue bans. This will certainly be tightened up on in the future. I think a 30 second wait to disconnect is a great idea. The time works in eve online and I think it's about 5 minutes long or longer depending on your ship. It wouldn't change my play style. I typically wait in a tree for about 5 minutes to disconnect because I want to make sure that my character is saved with the hive. -
hacker teleporting me into the ocean and having to watch my guy slowly die over the course of an hour immediately after finding an l85aws at a downed chopper site. sad to watch the gun go. sadder to watch the game go. but there will always be more guns, and the game will eventually get worked out, or hacking will lose its trendiness. so.. what do you do? play on, and I guess enjoy the ride, because it is still a fun one. even with the alt-f4ing, hacking, artifacts, broken vehicle and tent spawns, etc. etc. Still a ridiculous amount of fun. last night, was helicopter hunting all across chenarus.

I understand. haha. that guy in florida, i think. Can't believe what the fda would approve over the real shit. That is freaking hilarious. still has me laughing when i play.

m14. dmr mag is fairly common in cherno and other spots. : D fn fal has super rare ammo, unless you have a chopper pilot thats scouting out downed helicopters for you. I like the m14 with red dot a lot : D

I disagree with this. putting players on the even playing field is what it is all about. Different play styles move at different speeds... and take different risks. it's just how it is. gotta adapt.

1.7.2.5 Tents and Vehicle Inventories not saving.

ah bummer. was afraid of this, just placed my first tent.... had been playing without them for this very reason. well back to just what I can carry if i log into nothing. -

ya a quit force quit or abort and disconnect could be the difference in that situation. I had to swim for over an hour waiting to die. Be glad he killed you instantly. -

the problem isnt solved for everyone. if you do update youll spawn back at the coast i believe. I did. Idk. might be nice to keep both folders available. thinking about making a backup of my arma2 beta file now so that I can make still access majority of servers when friends are unwilling to update. -

ahh man... I am not experiencing the graphics bug with the new patch. At least, in Balota airfield, where I was tonight. However, I did see the bodies not render at all, and then pop up when I aimed directly at them. Made me wonder if they put a limit on the tearing or something. Have you tried the holding shift and hitting the - key on the number pad then typing "flush" trick? -

open your arma2 beta launcher. you can find it in your steam folder <F:/Steam/steamapps/common/operationarrowhead/expansion/beta>. I believe. Once you open that it should be the right version. Also, you will need to check that the expansions DayZ and @DayZ are on once you have it started. It'll restart, and if you have updated both arma2 beta to 95883 and DayZ to 1.7.2.5, it will say in the bottom right hand corner. Arma2 itself is at the 95417, and that is why most servers run it at that version. If you are trying to update DayZ and still having problems with six launcher, then I suggest downloading the torrent file and copying all of those data files and overriding the same files in <F:\\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\@DayZ\addons> You can delete the old files or store them in another folder titled with the version number, and paste the new ones in. This way if you feel like going back to the previous version in order to play on some particular server it is easy to do, just swap the data files with the updated ones. However, I am not sure about how to make it easy to downgrade the arma2 beta. Six launcher auto updated mine... If any of this information is wrong, please correct me, as I am not positive about everything Arma2. I just installed the new patches today and found a fantastic server. I've been using US 1993, an overclock.net server, and think I'll stick with it for a bit. Steam account is Eidos if you want to team up. -
