Have they started spawning loot yet? -
Whenever you get a missing file error, the first thing you should do is Verify Integrity Of Game Cache. Which can be done by Right Clicking DayZ in your Library, select Properties, click the Local Files Tab and you will see it there. This has worked for me in the past, it is useful for all Steam games you have errors.

Haha. Unfortunately I had my Police Uniform destroyed by zombies, from carelessly getting hit once.

I feel like most players are just going to spot a rifle and take you as a threat anyway. I never thought about using a vest and no backpack and no primary. I'll have to try that out. Sounds like it could be fun.

I have noticed through server restarts on the Experimental loot inside buildings seem to stay. I was playing on DE-01 and when the server restarted loot on the floor of the building I was in was exactly the same. I also noticed another thing, I switched a raincoat for a hoody before the reset (around a minute before), I took the gear out of my old raincoat and put it in my new hoody, when the server reset my raincoat was on the ground with duplicates of the loot I recently took out and I had the loot in my current inventory.

This basically sums up my experience. In the DayZ Mod I was nice and tried to talk to people and died constantly. When I started playing again on the Standalone I became a murderer. I would give a bambi a Canteen, and food here or there. Now I just go around killing people for the most part. The game can change you! Also when you play with a group of 4-5 people, someone is bound to shoot the guy you're talking to.

Are you playing Stable or Experimental? I've noticed my game locking up and FPS drops more often when playing the latest Experimental. -
I did a brief search but was kind of in a rush, so I just have a quick question after my story. I was literally just on the Experimental server, I took a shot at a player and then was thrown out of my scope and my player threw his weapon on the ground (mosin with lrs). Then 10 minutes later I was eyeing up either the same player or someone in his group and before I could even fire my player once again tossed his mosin to the ground. Has anyone experienced anything like this? *These players all had AK101 with similar gear.

That seems odd. I have 100+ hours in stable and have only had 1 situation where I "suspected" cheating. But I have maybe 10 hours in experimental and I have a situation where it was most likely cheating. Maybe it's the luck of the draw.

I still sniped one of his buddies in the head. So atleast I have that. Although he killed two of my friends. They were camping the Novo clock tower or whatever it's called on US Central 3 I believe. I read it is easier to "hack" on experimental. Is this true? Also I am sorry you lost your friend machete master, give it time he will cool down.

I was leaning towards that but I have not ran into many cheaters, although I mostly play stable.

I hope you're eating a can of tuna on a second floor and you hurt your leg and ruin your pants. Also, did you try running the game as administrator? Or running a defrag?

Spawns at Novo as well. However there is a glitch that will respawn your character naked and healthy in a random location, The location appears to be where ever your game was showing the load screen. I've had it happen and seen naked players in Vybor.

I've seen the clocktower (my group calls it the empire state building) lit up a few times from flares. It's quite the eye catcher! -
Poll - Why aren't people playing hardcore mode

I play hardcore because I find it annoying when people sit on top of the firehouse(or any other building) and use 3rd person while laying prone. I played the mod and standalone in regular for countless hours. Now I rarely play regular and spend my time in hardcore as I find it much more fun. -
I've also messed with it the other day and it's definitely within 50 meters.

Oh wait I got another. When the experimental first came out there was a German server that didn't spawn loot. So there was a huge Bambi boxing match at night going on in cherno I believe, maybe electro I forget. I just remember dead bodies holding flashlights that remained on and countless bodies all over the roads. Was a good time. I eventually got killed in this bare knuckle bloodfest. It was fun fist fighting other Bambi's in the lighting from dead people holding flashlights.

It was early in the standalone. We were in the military camp near pavlovo. It was night time. There were 4 people in the server, two being my friends, one myself. We were in the hospital. My friend is shining his flashlight on me so I can show off my baller new red poof hat I found. After him shining the flashlight on me for around a minute I get shot in the head from the darkness. That's one death I remember the most. (In standalone) Oh yeah, and my friends killed their flashlights, went prone and were scared shitless lol. We should've known better than to mess with flashlights after all those hours in the mod.

I really enjoyed most of these stories. I don't have any good stories like these. Just my friends taking a pot shot at each other once in a while when tensions get high to make each other bug out. -
Are we ever going to be able to start moving while taking out weapons?

Also, I'm not sure if you still can, but if you pulled out your weapon going upstairs you went up them faster. -

When I'm moving and I change weapon my character just slows down. However, if you are not moving when you start to change weapon you will not be able to move until the animation is complete. -
