    Zombies and Vehicles

    1. I think zombies should be more of a threat. At the moment, considering all players would work together, hell would it be boring :/ Going into a city and looting is too easy, there are too few zeds, and if you are working in group, ur fiercest enemy is the loot, because theres too much empty tin cans :/ 2. There must be more bicycles. Really, in cherno and electro there should be up to 5 and in the smaller villages there should be about 1-2 spots, but therefore no bicycles outside settlements.The thing is, it takes way too long to cross the map, but u need to in order to get to the norhtern lootspots. The game gets boring if you see 80% of the time empty forests. Once the max player count reaches 200 maybe this wont be a problem, but then you really need more bicycles because otherwise you have huge spots of death in southern regions, whilest in the northern regions theres almost nothing but annoying campers who snipe the airfields and stary. At the moment the gameplay is in quite a desolat constitution.Its really funny the very first times you loot barnes, cherno, elektro and so on, but it gets boring once youve done this a few times and you realize that any sort of action takes place only in cherno and elektro, and outside them theres just a quick sniperdeath or an empty zombievoid, which absorbs all the fun via ridonculous traveltimes through wastelands. The game is about survival, of course, but its also about fast paced action. We are not playing arma here but a mod, which simulates civilians in an apocalypse. Chaos must spread, but at the moment this chaos gets stuck in a far too easy early game and a boring endgame. PvP should stay a core aspect in Dayz, but it shoudnt be the only way of lategame, because therefore you simply die too quickly and it takes too long to get you back on the road, unless you grap that winchester and kill anything you can and then die again.
  2. Somehow, any server which was updated isnt possible to join/load. I click okay in the lobby and get stuck in the loading screen :/ Anyone ideas how to fix it?

  4. Six updater updates, but the displayed version Number wont change and when i try to join a server with the actual patch it says "outdated server". If i try to join this server i get stuck in the loading screen after the lobby.
  5. Thanks! Please dont forget to fix the "Tent bug" (Meaning: Items in tent respawn after serverrestart, even if youve taken them out before and saved) in the upcoming patch!

    Yeah im sure the topic exists already. But this bug is too annoying to not spam for a hotfix. You know, all the tents put up before 1.7.2.4 are bugged. Their inventory always resets to the state it had before 1.7.2.4.. This means, outside cities, in the forests, there are TONS of ammunition, weapons and supplies in common. 50% of the players run around in ghillie suits, armed to their teeth with the best sniper ingame, and everybodys camping just cause hes got the gear. Its that i would be sick of campers. The only problem is, if there are only campers, where is the real action? The game needs "normal" players, roaming the cities ínstead of just sitting ducks around the city. Someone whos dead should lose the fuckin ghillie and the fucking DMR, so he wont get it for the next 5-10 hours of gameplay. This game is about survival, plain and simple. With the whole server being armed to the state of special-task forces, the game falls apart. Everybodys sitting ducks in the forest with their "great" equipment. Any zombie apocalypse is always about struggle, about self defense. There is no self defense anymore cuz of that bug, but only gathering loot from buggy tents! hell im so annoyed, i wont play till that damn issue is fixed.

    Rocket, we dont want to wait any longer for that damn fix of the graphic bugs! I want to raid military camps, cherno and so on, WITHOUT GOD DAMN FUCKING GLITCHES! So give us at least a hotfix before you implement further shit!

    When i look at the "pending update" theres the graphical glitches from barbed wire and dead bodies FIXED! So, i wish you, the rocket defense force, the best of luck when your waiting for, lets say 4 weeks until a bug gets fixed which concerns your graphic cards only and prevents you from playing. Really, theres no reason then to give it a hotfix, because its just a minority of players who are groaning and moaning about a bug in game they didnt pay for. See you in the forums! Im not complaining that he wouldnt do something about it. But he does too much about it, and when a Bugfix is ready, then fucking release it, especially if the bug is as annoying as this shit is! EDIT: At least he could release a temporary workaround on the forums. One that should work for the most of people.
  16. The map needs an invisible wall or a giant fence or something. On my server, i am in a group of 9 players. But there are no cars, no bicycles, not motorboats, nothing! Instead we found huge camps with lots of Loot *evilgrin*. We are roaming the server for a week now and all weve found concerning a vehicle was an old Hatchback, in the midst of a forest near the map border! So, of course other players had the car, and thats completely okay. But whats not okay is that many ambitioned Players are so ambitioned, they put away all the vehicles from the map and put them somewhere into the middle of nowhere, Kilometers beyond the maps border! Why? For trolls sake, i guess! Just to make sure no one else will get a grip of it. This_Plain_Sucks! Indeed i think a helicopter should be able to cross the borderline, but only when he is in the air! Once he lands on the land beyond the border, the players AND the helicopter should be killed/destroyed/despawned! Yes, Dayz should be a hard game. But also hardgames must work within some rules! And since most of the players arent capable of controlling their inner troll, i think rocket should do something about protecting those players who still see a game to have fun with in Dayz, and not a place to troll the guts out of all the other players around them! Vehicles are an important part of Dayz, and nobody should be able to put them to rest 30 kilometers beyond the maps border, save it there and then laugh about the other players who are madly looking for one, especially since theres maximum number of vehicles "active" anyway! Rant off
  17. First: This game will never be TRULY REALISTIC because your Alter Ego simply respawns after Death. Thats one of the most important variables in the world of Chernarus. Because in the real world, when you end a human life, its fucking ended, game over, forever! And thats why DayZ really can piss one of in terms of Play Interaction. Nobody, not even in a real Zombie apokalypse, would shoot on sight if theyve never met by then. Its fucking Hollywood bullshit infecting your minds that, even a true badass type, would put his life at risk by randomly blowing peoples heads away! So, DayZ at the moment is a mess in terms of player interaction. You have to approach a player to chat with him, but doing that you might get shot, because theres no way of showing your goodwill to your counterfey! Be it in the standalone F2P or in this mod, there have to be more options to team up besides the forum. Ingame, you shoot anyone on sight because you have so meager tools to show your goodwill and other players, especially when in small groups or even alone, may be afraid you shoot them. In DayZ you die almost instantly when hit by a rifle, and thats good. But to make this "social experiment" more interesting, you have to have Options, otherwise theres no experiment. At the moment, i dont really have an option. I see a player, i shoot him, not because i really want it, but because the game makes me shoot him. I have no option to interact with him in a peaceful manner without putting me in a completely suicidal situation, its like waving with a Chemlight at night in front of a horde of brainless psychopaths with maybe 1 or 2 decent people in it. Shooting first is the best option for yourself, in almost any situation. In real life, in such a "grey area" as Chernarus is, you would definitely try to communicate with other people, because putting urself into a fight might potentially cause a disaster on both sides. A human dead cant be brought back. Thats something the world of chernarus lacks, and its highly important to setup a "social experiment". Because we cant do that, we have to compensate this via other mechanics.

    Oh yeah sherlock, you made my day. First of all i dont understand how you connect my posting with Arma. Maybe you are willing to enlight me? And all the other readers who havent got insight into the twisted paths of your sophisticated, highly developed mind? Second id like to know where you got this information from. Maybe you can post some link? Because its frickin annoying to be assaulted with Noob-flame-blurp, without any evidence to disprove my point laid out! So better prepare yourself before trolling!
  19. I dont think there should be more vehicles than guns, or at last, not any vehicle :D I think Bicycles should be A LOT more common. It would make the world more interesting too, because players in vehicles will stick to the roads since they are faster there. That way, villages and towns wouldnt be that empy anymore :/ Military vehicles should be rare, so each vehicletyp should have an own "spawnindicator", meaning that for example Bicycles have a chance of, say 80% to spawn, common civilian cars and Motorbikes 40%, Heavy load vehicles (for exmple the ural civilian) 20% and Military vehicles 10%, the helicopter of course only 5%. This must not mean that any vehicle spawnpoint can spawn any vehicle! Of course not! But, lets say a map may contain 10 vehicles, the chance for a bicycle to be spawned is a lot higher than for a motorised vehicle. Also, there should be more bicycle spawn points. One could also make bicycles an own category, so that they dont influence the pool of motorised vehicles. Whichever way of overhauling you use, there definitely should be MORE vehicles, and i think that at least partially, each vehicle class should be treated with an own spawn propabilty, so that the games "supply" works the same way other goods in Dayz work: Basic goods for basic survival should be found often and anywhere, special goods for not so basic needs should be found in certain places only and not too often. The more a tool or item or vehicle is not "basic" the harder it should be to be found and the less it should be spawned.
  20. Hey! . Bin 23 Jahre jung und würd mich freuen mal mit euch durch Chernarus zu ziehen :) Ich kenn mich vor allem in Cherno und dem ganzen Südwestlichen Quadranten von Chernarus gut aus. Ich suche vor allem nach Streichhölzern!!! Die Dinger spawnen ja an zivilen spots aber ich find da alles, nur keine Streichhölzer xD ich mail dir steamnamen und ICQ
  21. Hey Survivors and Bandits alike! Ive crossed Chernarus on my hitch-hiking tour last week and stayed a while with that sexy girl next door...well, one day i woke and she almost bit my **** off! That was my DayZ. Everythings different now, and i need some mates to team up with. I know a lot bout this land since ive been travelling it a lot for the last week, especially the coast around Cherno and the hinterland around Zelenogorsk and Green mountain. I also think i know very well where to find some loot, and cuz of my past im also an experienced city guerilla, and i know where and how to find the best loot for any purpose ;) Feel free to post into this thread and/or write me a PM!
