Admin abuse US1320, restarting the server after vehicle is stolen
Ped replied to holycheeseboy's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Dez, some personal advice. You have to divorce your feelings for loot and vehicles. The more you invest in them emotionally the more torn up you'll be when they are taken away from you. And yes, they will be taken from you. It's part of the game, man. You cannot hold onto gear and vehicles forever. This Mod isn't a personal playground for you and your friends to play in. It's a public space where people harass and kill each other for funzies. Put up your server and let em go to town on your stuff. Accept that this happens and move on buddy. -

I understand that English may not be your first or even second language, so I will forgive that you clearly didn't comprehend what I wrote. Perhaps you would do well to read it again? -
Admin abuse US1320, restarting the server after vehicle is stolen
Ped replied to holycheeseboy's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Dez, please stop engaging your accuser. All you are doing is fueling his angst. You believed hackers had found your camp and killed you. Due to the latest BattlEye script restriction issue, you were unable to log back into the game to kick/ban the alleged hackers. So you had to use the control panel to shut down the server instead. You did nothing wrong. You were somewhat ignorant about the problem at hand, however. This whole thing with crying hackers doesn't make for much of a defense to be honest. Because a true hacker would have dropped a parachuting cow on your camp with a nuclear bomb attached. They very likely would not travel by foot to your camp and snipe you. Either way, relax man. You acted out of emotion and that's ok. You now know that you shouldn't have done that and should have instead approached the situation with a level head to see exactly what had happened and why it happened. Now, the issue of shutting off your server when you go to bed. While this isn't written in the rules, you have to understand it is considered a breach of conduct. You see, the entire idea of this game is for players to engage in real life scenarios such as backstabbing, murdering, colluding with the enemy and basic general douchbaggery to each other. When you shut down the server and only have it up to play on, you are removing the ability for others to play on it. By doing do you are keeping the server as a playground only for you and your friends. And this is blatantly wrong. To save yourself a great deal of hassle, reverse any bans you made upon the players involved as it's clear no one was a hacker. Then put your server online and allow the player base to continue with whatever the hell they want to do in the DayZ game world. Because that's the right thing to do. -
I'm scared to login to my server now. :o

For a person who CAN code, you sure fail miserably at typing a simple sentence.

How do you host a server on a private machine?
Ped replied to h4344's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Honestly, using the forum search is a good thing. -
My goodness. If Battleye actually has a second screw up only a day after the global ban screw up...

To answer your first question: yes, yes there is. I'm assuming you have a managed server. Go to your control panel and find the Log Viewer. Then look for this filename: arma2oaserver.RPT Download it, open it with notepad, then scroll down to the bottom entries, which will be the most recent. To answer your second question: no, no there isn't.

Pardon my ignorance. You are posting under Ban Appeals. This means you want the ban lifted so you can continue to play on this server? I suggest you post to -> http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/forum/46-server-reporting/ read the sticky Guidelines and follow the format. Then you should contact HFBservers and report the server there too. Whomever is running this server...shouldn't be.

Stay playing on the old version. Six Launcher does not support 1.7.2.5 yet. When the developer is ready for it to be released, Six Launcher will patch it.
-
Go here -> http://us2.dayz.nu/latest/ Download DayZ-1.7.2.5.rar UnRar it to the appropriate directory. -if you use Steam the directory may be -> c:/program files/steam/steamapps/common/arma 2 operation arrowhead/@dayz/ -if you do not have steam the directory may be -> c:/program files/bohemian interation/arma 2 operation arrowhead/@dayz/ congratulations, you installed 1.7.2.5 do not run Six Launcher, doing so will overwrite 1.7.2.5 with 1.7.2.4 you will need to use another launcher or the Arma 2:CO multiplayer options
-
I cannot find a US 1154 on any of the launchers, thru Arma2 Multiplayer list nor through gametracker.com.

US 257 Seattle "(BattlEye: Banned (IAnon Banned Weapon))"
Ped replied to ianon's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Here is the story of how I got the 2 hacked weapons: http://dayzmod.com/f...re-pussies-too/ EDIT: If you are gonna bitch about me getting the hacked weapons you can leave :D It is stated that you can't get banned. I usually fight for people like you. Sadly though, you're hiding behind something Rocket said which isn't an actual server rule. You knew the weapons you picked up were illegal and instead of doing the right thing, you're going to raise your middle finger and be a shit crying, "But Rocket said so and so". Frankly, due to this act, I say you were an intentional disruption to the server and pray the ban stays. Further, I hope every admin on every server you visit to disrupt with your hacked weapons also bans you. -
The server is running an In-correct Version
Ped replied to BxRKings's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
This is perhaps my 100000th post. Please, please use the search function. Six Launcher does not support 1.7.2.5 because Rocket has a hold on it's release as he isn't happy with it just yet. You are free to play on servers using version 1.7.2.4 through the Six Launcher. If, however, you wish to play on servers using 1.7.2.5, download the files manually, drop them into the appropriate directly, then use another launcher or use Arma2 Multiplayer options. Should you launch Six with 1.7.2.5 in it's default directory, Six will overwrite the files back to 1.7.2.4 -
Skalisty Island. But this is pretty well known and the chances are very good someone has already taken it. Out of curiosity, how did the Admin learn there is a vehicle spawned?

No one can get past the loading screen on my server.
Ped replied to Azlum's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Can you connect to your server? Also, is everyone trying to connect to your server using Six Launcher? In case you didn't know and haven't browsed the forum nor used the search function. Six Launcher does not currently support 1.7.2.5 version of DayZ Mod. If your server playerbase is using Six Launcher they cannot connect to your server because they're still on 1.7.2.4 They will have to update manually to 1.7.2.5 then either use another launcher or use the Arma2 Multiplayer option to join your server. -
Stuck at loading for all 1.7.2.5 servers
Ped replied to crashnburn_4q2@hotmail.com's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Please use the Search function when visiting the forum. It will happily help you find the answers you seek. But because I'm in a good mood... Version 1.7.2.5 of DayZ Mod is in Pre-release. It is not a release version. SixLauncher is not allowed to patch to 1.7.2.5 until Rocket gives them the Ok. If you updated to 1.7.2.5 manually, then launched Sixlauncher, the files were overwritten back to 1.7.2.4 because that is the version Sixlauncher supports. Through using Sixlauncher, you are perfectly able to play on servers using 1.7.2.4 Or you may update manually to 1.7.2.5 and use another launcher or go through Arma2's Multiplayer option. -
I do wish people would use the search function. Forum search functions are amazing things. You are stuck at the loading screen of various servers because their version of DayZ Mod is incompatible with yours.

Obvious server hoster abuse DE 1686 (Proof inside!)
Ped replied to Silverdisc's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
They are definitely kicking anyone but people in their clan. There are now 2 clan members in the server. Everyone else is kicked. Silverdisc, plz go to -> http://dayzmod.com/f...rver-reporting/ Read the sticky post -> Server Reporting Guidelines Then post your complaint. I will follow your post shortly after with my own experience of being kicked repeatedly. ---edit--- I talked with them for a minute. They genuinely seem to not know they cannot kick people so they can play alone. -
I just checked the server. It has zero players on it for some reason. Anyways, are you able to play elsewhere without issues?
-
It is a very well know and talked about problem. Using the Search function for the forums would be a very good idea when seeking answers to any problems. The basic gist of the issue is, it's part of the new preventative measure to stop server hopping. Should you hop servers often you will find yourself spawning on the coast a lot. Stick with one server.
-
Version 1.7.2.5 is a pre-release version of the Mod. It isn't finalized yet. If you insist on playing with this version, you must download the updated mod files, install them into the appropriate directory by hand, then only use Arma2 Multiplayer options to find servers using the same version. Using SixLauncher will overwrite 1.7.2.5 with 1.7.2.4
