Question about vehicle saving
Ped replied to {N3RD2} HazardousJJ's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
If you are playing on a server with the version 1.7.2.5, I wouldn't bother getting a vehicle. This version is currently having severe issues with saving vehicles as well as tents. It could also be attributed to the servers Instance ID being too high. But this is something for the Admin to deal with. To answer your question...vehicles are permanent until destroyed. Once destroyed they 'reset' and spawn over a random duration of about a week. They could respawn the next day or week away. Vehicles that have flipped or fallen on their sides will be set right side up at the next restart. Also, vehicles will return to their last save point after a restart. So, it's very important to save them often. -
As there is no guarantee the Admin of this server visit these forums, you may have to seek them out instead. I notice the server IP is owned by Vilayer. Maybe visit their Teamspeak and ask for help getting in contact with the Admin.

Admin abuse US1320, restarting the server after vehicle is stolen
Ped replied to holycheeseboy's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Yes, on his second week of having a server and after making himself and friends a little camp with vehicles, he became overly emotional when someone came along and ruined his camp by stealing his precious vehicle(s). His friends screamed to him over their voice chat that hackers had invaded their server and specifically their camp. Acting to stop the hackers, he restarted the server. And continued to do so in an attempt to stop hackers from stealing his and his friends' stuff. As he couldn't reenter the game he didn't have much of a choice but to do this. Remember that night BattlEye had some funky script error where a great many players couldn't enter the game for a little while. Dez came to this forum and responded to your complaint in under one hours time. Sadly, he was fired up and still rather emotional, probably because someone he referred to as Brad had betrayed him by revealing his camp to you. Regardless, some of the people on this forum at the time chimed in and we managed to both calm Dez as well as explain to him what he did was wrong. Soon afterward, he started the server up allowing for players to do as they please on his server while he slept off his drunk. I'm not entirely sure why you feel he was being abusive. An abuse claim presupposes Dez acted with intentional malice. He wasn't. He was acting out of emotion and ignorance. Killer777 claimed to have written a complaint about this server. He hasn't. Should he wish to, he could. But his issue and yours are separate ones. Honestly, I don't see the value in pursuing your complaint. Punishing a guy for rageing isn't very fulfilling. I hazard a guess, the DayZ Team is more interested in blacklisting actual abusive Admin. -
to the dayz creator and the use of battleye
Ped replied to Kjaddel's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
While this isn't the Battleye Forums, we could possibly help you somewhat. You get this message every single time you try to join a server? And by server I mean multiple servers. Surely you're trying to connect to many different servers. -
how to fix instant death after parachute?

It's all about height. Jump from below a certain height and you die everytime. -
Hacked gun found on dead hacker now what?
Ped replied to Yarrick68 (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Just as a heads up, you ARE flagged for having a weapon outside of the DayZ Mod. Any admin can attest to seeing hive_write spam whenever someone joins their server with AS50_TWS or whatever else. Or rather you could, I think in 1.7.2.5 the spam is gone. Sure, BattlEye won't ban you, but a server Admin can. Either way though, you're being tracked while you have it. -
Respawning on the coast is a bug associated with the two different versions of the Mod that are out there.

Plant Exploit, Shit-P, etc, got any advice?
Ped replied to datorqueman's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I bet you all the money in the world the logs show the same info when you log into the game. Because it happens to everyone. It isn't an exploit it's just a bug in the scripts.log. When the files are actually missing, players are rejected and cannot join the game. -
I need help finding login positions in .rpt file.
Ped replied to jamestrendall's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
---edit--- I misunderstood your original post. Your goal is to catch Ghosters. But I'm not entirely sure how you can do this with any certainty. Sure, you can map out the coordinates grid over the map and pinpoint player log-ins. But exactly how much time do you assign a player for movement on another server before you declare them a Ghoster? Seems rather difficult to prove anything. -
The #1 problem that Day Z is facing today
Ped replied to Pappyjump's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Glitches and bugs are not the problem? But you list glitches and bugs as the problem. You say you're not an asshole, yet you are to the first person who has any opinion. -
Think of em as a Locker to put things in. To pitch a tent you, sadly, need to spam it a bit. Open your inventory (g) and right click then left click the command to pitch the tent. It'll tell you it needs a clear area, ignore this. Take a step forward and do it again then take another step and try to set it up again...repeat until it works. If your intent is to hide gear, you'll want to setup the tent in an area that sees little to no traffic...and also try to do it under one of those nice pine trees with the leaves/limbs at the bottom. If you do it right you can put a tent up so it's very well hidden.

BattlEye doesn't show much compassion or do any hand holding. They won't tell you very much at all...especially if the evidence is clear that you did something wrong. Do you honestly have no inkling of what happened to get you banned?

Pro's and Con's of being an official server admin.
Ped replied to Renock82's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
There are tools Admin can use that automatically ban for a multitude of actions. I bought a new server (wanted a fresh start) and started using a nice suite of tools... ...server's been up nearly 12 hours and already three dozen GUID bans. It's a real shame Admin don't do a little research and arm themselves against problems. Sure, no rcon toolset is going to be perfect but holy shit, three dozen bans in 12 hours is fucking awesome. -
Could you be using Six Launcher?
-
Wrong forum. DayZ doesn't global ban. BattlEye does. Go here -> http://www.battleye.com/support.html

I used to spawn there a lot back in 1.7.2.3

having several issues getting it to work
Ped replied to azombieatemybaby's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
If you're playing through steam, please make sure STEAM is being run AS ADMINISTRATOR. Run Arma2 Quit Arma2 at title menu Run Arma2:Combined Operations (or OA) >a DOS window should pop-up and you'll see some file spam< Quit Arma2:CO/OA at the title menu Run DayZ Commander and have it install the beta and mod files. Play the game -
Rented new server, been waiting for ID from devs for 6 days and still nothing
Ped replied to zappeo's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/22240-new-server-signup-and-ticket-system/ From what I understand it's fairly automated now. It shouldn't take over an hour to be honest. More info in the link above. -
Six Launcher does not support 1.7.2.5 Should you update to version 1.7.2.5 manually and launch Six Launcher, Six Launcher will overwrite the files back to 1.7.2.4 So you'll have to visit Six Launcher site and download Six Play. Or use another launcher like DayZ Commander....or use Arma2:OA Multiplayer options.

Yeah, feel free to lock it for an hour to test things out. If anyone bitches and write up a Server Report, replay to it pointing out this thread. ---edit--- Can you edit the title to include the server number? Also, you probably aren't going to have any luck testing with vehicles as there may not be any spawned. It'll likely take a couple of days before they start spawning correctly.

Well, it isn't that easy. The hackers are the ones who write a program that bypasses BattlEye detection. Basically, it unlocked memory used by Arma2:OA and allows a user to insert a script allowing them to run additional scripts without BattlEye detecting them. Then there is another completely different hack called a Radar, which is more or less a packet (packets are the packages of data traveling the superhighway called the internet) sniffer that reads packages incoming to the users computer, interprets them and allows the user to...for example, see every player or vehicle or whatever. The Radar one doesn't interact with the game in any way shape or form and thusly cannot be detected by BattlEye at all. And then there are Aimbots which often times use a unique color on player models to auto-aim your cursor to their head so you're guarantee a headshot everytime you pull the trigger. Aimbots also do not interact with the game's mechanics at all and thusly are undetectable. There are many methods of cheating out there. The most popular one is the Bypass allowing users to run various scripts. It's somewhat important to note, these scripts they run use the Arma2 script engine and are actually intended to be used within Arma2. The game was developed around this script system to allow for the end user (us) to write missions and campaigns within their game. BattlEye has gone out of their way to offer detection for the DayZ mod which they really didn't need to do at all. So we should be lucky to have what we have as it's better then nothing.
