Just wanted to pop in and share my thoughts of the update. Let's say that the new 3rd person camera was nice for starters. I was not a massive fan of the new inventory. The way it interrupted running for example and if you expanded let's say your jeans so it showed the slots and you closed the inventory and opened it again you had to expand them again. The performance was massively increased which was a pleasant suprise! My CPU usage was around 40-50% in Berezino (FX-6300 4.0GHz with a custom water cooling loop not really overclocked atm) GPU Usage was around 40-60% (MSi GTX 750 TI Twin Frozr 2048mb) My rig is a little over average decent gaming rig. Average FPS in Berezino was around 30-40 fps which is a noticable increase from before BUT most importantly the framerate felt a lot more consistent and the general game play experience was A LOT smoother. One thing I noticed was when I went indoors the fps jumped a lot. To around 60+ sometimes almost 110. I don't personally have a problem with the zooming however. It's not as massive as some ppl claim it to be. Nowhere near binocular level anyway.

You know what you are doing? Did you know that all the modern video cards are actually PCI-Express (PCI-E) so you wont be able to add a proper video card into that MOBO with AGP/PCI slot. Secondly, AM2 socket is really outdated. It makes absolutely NO SENSE to buy a AM2 socket MOBO these days... If you decide go with AMD I recommend getting a AM3+ socket when you upgrade. Phenom processors are pretty outdated, I mean a overclocked FX processor can outperform any Phenom and they are a lot cheaper. You can get a FX-4100 quad-core and clock it to over 5.0 ghz with a aftermarket cooler and it costs 120 dollars + twenty dollars for a new cooler. And it outperforms even Phenom II X6

Install a program called "Ask Toolbar". It reduces your ping by A LOT!

Wierd... I have excatcly the same setup. BUT! I have overclocked my FX-4100 to 4.5 ghz from the original 3.6 ghz (I have a aftermarket cooler and I know what im doing. I work with this stuff as my job). The FX-4100 Is a pretty meh processor, but it scales well with overclocking. I have the same Video card, overclocked too (910 mhz -> 1026 mhz, got about 30% more performance in Kombustor). I have 8gb of 1600mhz O.C RAM. I can livestream the game for about 40-50 fps in forests, 20-30 fps in cities. WIthout Xsplit I do about 20-50 in cities, 60-90 in wilderness. I have shadows set to high, object detail low (just too see stuff better), textures high, antialiasing high. Pretty much everything is set to high. Im not running FullHD resolution thou. I get a even higher FPS in Arma2 benchmark and singleplayer. Average was about 70.

So you want to go on a full dark server with your NVG's and kill fresh spawns in Cherno / Elektro? Oh you. PS. 90% of people who play in night servers have em.

Yesterday when I was spending my evening playing some DayZ I found myself in the middle of a hilarious and chaotic event. So... I was a semi-fresh spawn. I was gathering some basic equipement like a map and a compass so I could make my way north to my equipment tent. I had a AKM as my primary firearm and a trusty Colt 1911 as my sidearm. I went inside the Elektro School in hopes to find some supplies. I heard several gunshots outside and saw the zombie counter rise up like a firework! I laid down in the end of the corridor, readied my AKM and prepared for them. The gunshots went on for about 5-10 minutes. Then I started hearing sounds of survivors being hit by zeds. I heard the sounds of them running. In notime they were inside the school. I heard two people ascend the stairs and when a guy game to my FOV I immediately fired a good burst at him, dropping him dead. By the time I shot him, another survivor came to the second floor, I shot him but he managed to flee downstairs. This is where the fun started. TONS and TONS of zeds started swarming inside the school and I was forced to fight them, I looked back and saw a guy hacking me with a axe. I ran behind some zeds so I could swap to my colt since I had emptied my AKM mag that had only 17 bullets. I managed to equip my colt and shot him a few times. He ran downstairs bleeding and few seconds after... I got another murder. Then I went to the second floor balcony because I heard more gunshots outside. I saw a guy fighting zeds outside the school on the road. I broke his legs and shot him once in the body. Leading to another murder. After getting the third kill I fled to the top floor roof and laid down because I heard more noises and saw zeds being killed in the counter. I waited patiently for him to show up to the top floor. All the sudden I heard 2 shots from a double barreled shotgun. I tought It was him and he was coming upstairs. Suddenly I was killed by being shot point blank by a DB. No clue where he was, he wasnt behind me thats for sure. My guess is that when the poop hit the fan he fled to the VERY top of the school. He saw me from there and shot from above me. In the end I managed to take down 3 guys when I finally got executed with a shotgun. All this happened so fast and it was very hectic. Awesome! Anyways. Had a TON of fun. Actually that was the single most exciting even that has ever taken place during my time in DayZ. thanks for not logging out during the fight. Shame that I didnt have fraps on, I could have put it on my youtube channel!

It wasnt the zombies really. Just heard that the guy who shot me just logged in at the top of the roof. The people who came to the school had enough zombies already for my AKM to have any effect.

It was you! I know it. I got shot with a DB. and I had a AKM with no ammo and I reloaded my colt just before I heard two DB shots go off, the third one killed me. No bad feelings towards you man, great job!

They were a big group and armed. Im 99 percent sure they would have shot me if they had the chance to. Actually they did but because of the sheer amount of zeds inside the school so shooting a certain target was difficult. I did take a good chop from a axe and a point blank shot from a DB leading to my demise. EDIT: And I was also a survivor. I only had some basic equipment and a AKM that I managed to scavenge from the firestation. I protected my life. Meh... You could call me a bandit after the event thou. Thats why I posted it here!

Hi! Carrying a hacked weapon could get you banned for the following reason. When the database does a routine checkup / routine fixes it scans quickly for database entries that are not allowed, which in this case are hacked weapons. So when the scan goes on, it goes through the database and sees an entry of you having a weapon that you shouldnt have resulting in your GUID being flagged and in the worst case scenario resulting in your GUID being banned.

Best way to kill a player? Be careful, move using the foliage. Always scout around using optics or binoculars before you move onward. When you find a player (unsuspecting prey), use the environment... Get yourself in a position where you have the upper hand (find some cover). Initiate the firefight when you have a clear line of sight on the target and hopefully kill the target before they realize what hit em. Do what you have to, outsmart them.

Closed mindedness oh really? Just because I dont pick a certain server and stack all my tents in to one place just to get them all robbed at once makes me closed minded? And just because I decide to share my own opinion in a polite manner is an indication of me being a closed minded person? Oh my, these forums might be worse than I thought. Hmm... Axing reminded me of the first times I played the game. I found an axe, and a survivor. I killed the zombies that chased him. Then looked at him and started screaming "I WANT YOUR NIPPLES" In the voice chat. Well, it ended up on him doing a suicide to a zombie pack and me running after him threatening to cut of his nipples. That was fun.

I think my best loot was some three tasty M107 from tents, ghillie suits, NVG's and a crapton of ammunition. Also had a lot of AR's but didnt really need em. From a legit kill? I have found quite a few NVG's from my kills. They are always nice to find! Oh and picked up a Coyote backpack once too.

I dont know if Im like most of the players. But I never pick a certain server. I just pick one with the lowest ping and a good amount of players. So in my opinion its pretty useless to advertise your server in the forums.

Greetings! Today 1.8.2012 at about 21:14 (gmt+2) on server "PL 1" I was instantly killed when crawling in bushes finding a good spot to snipe from. I had a ghillie suit on and I was totally covered between rocks and a bush near Stary Sobor when I just suddenly instantly died. I heard about 20 gunshots go off at the time and my health was at -152000 when I looked the "you are dead" screen. I know that the damage could have come from a AS50 but I heard about twenty gunshots at the same time and there was no one around but my friend who was standing next to me UNHARMED! Please look into this issue... At the time the incident happened I was the top ranked player on the server so someone could have targeted me because of that.

Ok. So just wanted to let you all know that it happened a second time today. Kinda annoying since I had a M107 on me. I was prone atop of a small rock fence and I crawled down from it instantly braking my legs and dying with about the same amount of minus blood. Hopefully they will fix this soon.

Thanks again to you guys from telling me about this bug. I had never even heard of it. Im pretty sure I crawled into a big bush and died. Because I died at the moment I bumped to the bushes.

Thank you for this. It was wierd that my legs were covered and I still died instantly with broken legs and -152000 damage EDIT: Plus I was prone when it happened. EDIT 2: Now that I think of it im not sure did I hear any shots... And I was crawling next/towards a bush to get a better position.

I know. But trees and bushes do not disappear because of object detail. I have tried it out on very high and very low. I play on high setting myself. The weird thing was that I had 2 bushes in north and west of me. A big stone east of me and my friend was south of me. He then looted the important items from my corpse and was unharmed even thou he stood next to me in a way more open spot while the incident happened. That made me suspect a cheater.
