    If you are using Steam, try run ARMA2: Operation Arrowhead.. Check if DAYZ logo is in the top right corner - if not choose expansions and double check that @DayZ is selected :) Worked for a friend of mine.. ;)

    Who said anything about a sniper...? Found out later it was probably a hacker because he was driving a SUV that is not findable in DayZ :( Anyways.... It was a nice firefight inside a barn...
