FYI, my buddy found one of these after a fresh server restart 2 weeks ago, in a fresh vehicle spawn. claiming it's a hacked item is just hitting a level of ignorance that is just flat out annoying. it was previously in the game, and thanks to duping, taht automatically makes it abundant. but also, i've seen a few other confirmed reports of it spawning in a couple spots, so if it is indeed still not supposed to be in the game, something is broken.

my favorite places to pvp are random spots on the map where i find and end up stalking players in the middle of nowhere. it's usually to be expected when you find warm bodies in any town or landmark, but i get a special kind of thrill when i come across somebody in the forest and follow them for half an hour before landing a bullet in their skulls.

Clothing resets your debug monitor and what it displays for humanity. Relogging will fix this. Not wearing something like camo or a ghillie, however, will cause it to glitch out over a small period of time, and this can reset your backpack. The other day, I finally died again. Bandit skin armed, I went around until I found an alice pack. Put it on, minutes later my bandit skin goes to the regular skin. Alice pack disappeared. Okay, whatever, I say. Later on, find me a coyote pack and a ghillie suit. KNowing fully well I could lose the coyote pack putting on the ghillie, I wait until after. But first, I took off an alice pack I ended up looting later on. After I put on the ghillie, it magically placed an alice pack on me. So yeah, humanity is very bugged right now, and can have some pretty dire consequences.

I hear there's a free SVD camo with like 50 mags on top of the fire station in cherno on US 2593, too. If you don't see it, just make sure you stand straight up and stay perfectly still... sometimes you have to... uhh... let your eyes adjust..... to... uhm... the bulle- I MEAN the lighting. yeah, that's right. the lighting.

actually yeah, that would not only make perfect sense given the level of scripting going on, but also.... every alpha on the planet tends to have complete resets, sometimes as frequently as several times a day. i bet it would help tremendously with the stability of the hive, too.

Eh, I'll vote once the standalone comes out. I love the game, sure, but right now it's just a shell of what it could be, due to issues like horrific bugs and hackers. Sure, I know those are the joys of an alpha, and that they'll be addressed. But that's why it won't get my vote quite yet. I don't believe in voting for something that is not anywhere near completion, because I can't validate something that could change for the better or worse or not at all. Keep up the communication on the forums, and post things more relevant than "Vote for us on GDC!" and I might be a bit more willing. Until then, I'll stick to my guns and should there be any votes needed post standalone, you'll get it, for better or worse.

most bandits wont trust another bandit, because being a bandit gives one great insight into how a bandit functions and the sorts of banditry involved. wow, that's a lot of the word bandit. anyway, yeah, we all know the tricks and all that jazz so it is tough, although you'll occasionally find another bandit that'll be down.

I tend to stay away from any population about 20, because every time, without fail, a hacker eventually kills the server. i find most of my pvp experiences walking between and around the hotspots. particularly, downed helos and treestands outside of stary, between and around stary and novy, the outlying areas of the NWA, ect. also, the barracks at the NWA are great. particularly the southern barracks. if you have a bit of patience, you can wait around in the trees and you will always eventually find someone. but ultimately, i find hte most (and the most entertaining) pvp around the hotspots. i'd recommend staying away from the center of the hotspots during pvp encounters, as too many people come and go and server hop, so you could be fine one second and taken out by a sniper the next. and if all else fails, just look for zombie spawns as you venture around. you'll have some boring moments, but eventually, you'll have some really intense ones, too.

Ahh, the first time. Nothing quite beats it, until that moment you find yourself surrounded by 5 dudes in the woods sticking their guns in your face making you do things you'd never even heard of for a can of beans.... banditry. yeah, i'm talking about banditry.

eh, they don't blow up that easily, assuming you drive them carefully. granted, ATVs are deathtraps, those things will blow from barely anything, but the rest are generally good. just have to steer clear of debris, if you can't help but crash into shit you probably should hire a personal driver. now in terms of you being a beacon for bullets, yeah, that is true. but it's the price you pay for luxury travelling. the best bet is to park them a good distance away from your location, hidden, so you don't attract any unwanted attention.

It takes me probably an hour, MAYBE two to regear from a new spawn. And that's with NWA quality weapons. Hell, sometimes I even get lucky and "find" them in cherno or elektro. But the point is, even ghillie suits are dropping like crazy lately, so just put the work into it! Maybe even set up your own camp.

yeah, just another instance of how horribly bugged and dysfunctional this system is. be careful because that change can convert your backpack of any kind to a patrol pack. happened to me twice the other day. yet another wonderful bug in 1.7.2.5.

Honestly, the bandit skin is a flawed idea, anyway. People talk about realism this, realism that, but I don't remember in this real world that I live in, my wardrobe being dictated by my actions. Rocket wants no hud or forced visual indicators in his game, well the bandit/hero skin is just another one by itself. So yeah, really I think it needs to be done away with for good come stand alone. Even if he could get it to tell the difference between straight up murder and self defense, I think it ultimately detracts from the experience. Every player you walk up to, you should have that fear of betrayal. Not just the ones you walk up to wearing turbans.

Humanity is beyond broken right now. It makes no sense, goes up/down frequently, and sometimes just disappears.

Yeah, duped pretty much says it. As it stands right now, there are no rare weapons in the game. You can find an L85, AS50, rangefinders and NVGs on pretty much any player you kill these days. it'll be interesting to see just how much this game changes once duping is no longer an issue.

I don't get it, myself. I get no thrill out of shooting helpless players off the coast, whether they be in Elektro or freshly spawned. I consider them both close to the same thing. I DO however, find quite the thrill in hunting players across the open, or catching a glimpse of movement and tracking it down across the map and eventually putting a bullet in its skull. The best part about that, is the complete random nature of it. Sometimes I'm thinking as I log in, it'll probably be a couple of hours until I see somebody, just to take an unusual path and come across a couple looting a downed helo or something. That's just me, though. I'm perfectly capable of such play, so of course there will always be those who aren't and gotta get their kills somehow. This, I imagine, would be where the elektro snipers come in.

Personally I'm a huge fan of using Playclaw to record. Has a lot of awesome features, smaller files and uses far fewer system resources.

Best post I've read in this thread so far. While I find it amusing that the child-like name calling is kind of missing the point that this can make for a less boring experience, it is quite true that they primarily cater to the alt-f4's of the game, whether it be due to zeds or other players. I'm guilty of using their service once myself, after being stupid and wandering into the NWA with no bandage (zed got me, i don't alt-f4 to players, but still after this I did do some self-reflection and haven't gone back to bailing when zeds attack since). While they may not be causing the problem, they are certainly (and probably mostly) catering to it. Maybe it wouldn't be a bad thing for them to draft up a rule that includes no bandaging or assisting still-bleeding players, or perhaps there is some other method of allowing them to continue their journey without helping the alt-f4 cause. However, perhaps an idea such as the OPs would be ideal simply to counter the issue at hand. Just a thought...

as50 tws has been found by a few people lately, seen it myself. since 1.7.2.5, anyway. in a fresh vehicle spawn on a new server. but the british clothing i haven't heard of, at all, so i really dunno about that one.

Eh, let him ban people for weapons that were once in the game (and seem to be back). It's a really convenient way of blacklisting a shitty server with shitty admins. I would understand if it were obvious hacking, like someone slays an entire server, but for something that can be as simple as a person looting a player corpse, that's just absurd.
