Most people who end up with high end gear and who can't aim worth a damn usually end up in elektro, to get some easy kills against fresh spawns. But no, all that gear is legit, and I'd wager that he's probably not a hacker.

Lingor is great for lone wolf banditry. I love that map so much.

m14 > all love that gun, has always been my favorite.

It's dayz, a horribly buggy alpha, of course it's entirely possible. i've died from some of the weirdest things. but ultimately, we'll never know

This is how I primarily play. Sniper play is boring as fuck, and it's all everyone does... sits on a hill or behind a tree with a sniper rifle. It's way more enjoyable when you can employ tactics that don't revolve around sitting there before you let out one bullet, relocating and doing it again. I'd be interested in a server that has no snipers, however just a clan that uses such tactics, not really.

It still happens to me on occasion. Then again, I don't alt f4 to zombies. Sometimes you just run into the mike tyson asshole zombie that can incap you in a single punch, or get swarmed during a heated pvp situation. As many times as I've seen the same happen to others, I get the feeling there isn't a whole lot of honesty in this thread.

does your server do anything special? i can't even play regular chernarus anymore, i look for modified versions of the map (such as extra buildings, increased crashed choppers, and LOTS of vehicles).

It's alright, but I have a hard time using a sniper rifle that allows someone to alt+f4 (yeah, i'm not too great at landing headshots with it past 500m). if i had to pick, i'd take a m14 aim over the dmr.

the axe hit mechanics can be a bit wonky. i find it's easier in first person, but you gotta step back a bit as it appears to not work so well when you're directly on them. just practice spawning into cherno/elektro and going wild. protip: if you can sneak up on someone in a building, say, like the grocery store and wait for them to start looting.... that's the best time to rush.

The thing about third person, is that it's an advantage for everyone in the server. Sure, someone on a roof has an advantage that the person on the ground won't have, but that'll be the case anyway. If they're both in first person, then the person on the roof can easily crouch, have a slight view and be harder to see because that person on the ground is also in first person, thus limiting their view. But, if we're going to remove it, while we're at it I'd like to recommend we remove everything from the game that I don't like, too, rather than provide the choice for the individual players. Because choice is clearly an evil, horrible thing.

I've noticed private hives tend to desync and lag a hundred times more than public hive servers. Sounds like that's what got you in this case.

This has happened to me before, after I alt f4'd on a bike when a hacker teleported everyone to a spot. From what I understand, the only thing you can do to get out of it is have someone drive a vehicle up. When it happened to me, I was still in the bike ride animation and could fire my weapon, look in my inventory, and nothing else. I tried everything, but I had to die to get out of it (luckily a zombie saw me curiously pedaling nothing). Hopefully the recommended solution above works, but from my own experience I don't think it will.

best advice I can give for a scenario like this.... is find the most popular server you can, hop on and wait for the inevitable hacker to mass kill everyone.

The challenge of hunting another player. No other game really touches on the intensity and provides a greater feeling of joy than this one does, after you spend time hunting a group of players and perfectly execute their demise.

didn't make it very far through this one, it's a shame a potentially good video can be ruined by horrible music. oh well.... just one less sniper video i'll have to watch. also, you need to bring down the audio levels of the gameplay. shit is absurdly high.

Bingo. You nailed it. This is why I didn't bother defending my position earlier to Mr. Knows Everything About Copyrights. As far as I can gather, the big moral issue is the fact that the vilayer download doesn't work with the regular one. Well, let me say something about that. The reason why I went to commander in the first place is because so many servers list themselves as using certain versions of the original DayZ mod (lingor, too), but are modified in such a way that the version they boast does not work. This may no longer be the case, or it may not be as widespread of an issue, but I know it's very present with Lingor. If all Vilayer is doing is ensuring CONSISTENCY, then what is the issue here? Both methods of obtaining the files still exist, therefore both versions of the map are usable. Yeah, they boast the other maps as a feature of their server hosting. Why would they do that, I wonder? Maybe the plethora of DayZ server hosters that will flat out deny you the ability to host said server? I know that's the only reason I ever found vilayer to begin with. Now maybe the issue is they didn't want anyone else to play Panthera in DayZ. If that's the case... well, too late now. I can find the download for the mod everywhere, so that's no longer an option. If I'm wrong on all accounts, then I guess I just don't understand the moral issues here. Is the original map maker expecting to get paid for this? Perhaps that's it. Who the hell knows. From what I've gathered, half the people whining in here don't even know. So lets stop trying to ruin the fun of the people actively enjoying and appreciating this mans creations (who would have otherwise never heard of the guy, much less cared about anything he ever created) and focus on a positive solution rather than be the reddit soap opera of the day.
