  1. It should run Dayz well You should be able to run it but expect frequent fps drops in cities May be playable at very low resolution, like the mentioned 1280x768 or similar Should run well but you would greatly benefit from an SSD drive ( 128Gb or bigger recommended ) I'm afraid the above specs doesn't look very promising especially the CPU part...I don't believe you could run it but I can't be 100 % sure The GTS 450 is very, very weak card but you may run it at low resolution of ~ 1280x768 or similar Couldn't find what GPU the laptop runs but assuming its intel HD 4xxx it may run on very low ( resolution )
  2. It amazes me how so many completely disregard other players who are NOT looking to come across any living soul every 4 minutes. You know, not everybody wants to join full 60 slot server to get their PvP fix. How they decide to manage the loot and full vs empty servers, I'll leave to devs but don't force us to join overpopulated servers just because myriad of other people like to do that. I don't mind player interaction ( and therefor PvP in itself ) but my own idea of what dayz and it's survivor aspect should look like is clearly different from other people
  3. You might be able to if you play at laptop resolution of 1280 x 720 or lower, with clouds and shadows disabled. Some settings are CPU heavy and some are GFX, search for threads on how to tweak the settings or similar and see if you can upgrade your GFX card to at least aforementioned HD 7770 or better. You're welcome
  4. You PC should run this seamlessly with the above specs, so I guess all whats left is that you may have a hardware issue/s. First of all check and re check if ALL cables are properly inserted, especially GFX. Make sure that you have bit of an thermal paste between your CPU and CPU cooler and that the cpu cooler is properly and firmly holding in place. Check your CPU and GFX temperatures using cpu-z or similar utility. Providing you have sufficient, quality power supply from somewhat known manufacturer we can eliminate the PSU and the problem Could be faulty RAM - try one stick of ram at the time to eliminate faulty RAM ( somewhat common ) VCheck mem test +86 or similar stress test utility I'd be surprised if the problem didn't reveal itself after the steps taken as above Should run well outside of towns but you may struggle in big cities. Shouldn't be too bad I don't believe that A5 amd apu is capable of running the game at all
  5. You might want to overclock that i5 cpu to 3.4Ghz or close to 4Ghz mark, providing you have sufficient aftermarket cooler. The HD 5450 is a seriously weak card and you should be looking to get at least HD 7770 or better Good to go. As a side note, i5 4670 would be more than good enough Should run well but you might need to lower the resolution ( or fancy effects ) slightly I wouldn't describe it as shitty but it is rather lower end PC. Overclocking your CPU would yield better results but keep in mind that the HD 6770 is quite weak card and little outdated.
  6. Why should he when so many others chose the easy path of I 'll F***you up on sight? How many tries are enough? OP welcome to DayCODblacopsz, the delay multiplayer deathmatch ( I said it, deal with it )
  7. The lenovo would be the better option but It's still like choosing whether to get into nascar racing with 3 ton truck or 3.7 ton truck analogy, because it doesn't really matter which one. I can't stress enough to any laptop user that they sacrifice everything for one single thing in return over a desktop and that is portability. No magic here, just hardware designed all around portability and power savings, thus laptops, under any circumstances, can equal or come even close to desktop performance. That said, if desktop is not a viable option, the lenovo as mentioned above is the lesser evil. I'd not expect any significant improvements providing the screen resolution stays same at 1280 X 720 but you should be able to get to much more playable framerates over the old toshiba laptop The i7 920 came with stock clock of 2.66 Ghz if I recall and as such overclocking the cpu to 3.8 Ghz should yield much better results, as long as you have sufficient aftermarket cooler. You're right to be looking at graphic card upgrade as the 9800 GT is holding you back a lot. The GTX 760 will help ( if you can find a HD 7950 or HD 7870 for about the same money or less, that would be my preferred choice ) but keep in mind that the CPU is showing its age now. You should also consider an SSD.
  8. I'm still hoping for antipersonnel mines, claymores little tnt/c4 and remote / wire controlled detonation goodies
  9. The way I see it ( whether plain wrong or naive ) is these betraying shits are very short sighted. I like to think I count well enough and 2 is better than 1. All I am saying is I see why he trusted him since he even found gear for him so why would you kill your ( sorry OP , no offence intended ) milk cow ?? Doesn't make sense to me in the slightest
  10. You have the same specs as I do. While I've never really bothered to measure fps, quick measurements show anywhere from 35 to 80 FPS or so. Frankly though, I personally see little to no point running anything max if I can't even see the difference. Some AA/AF tech make your PC work much harder for literally no benefit at all and is the reason why I am not bothered to max something out. I stick to what looks good enough and or lower the settings if I simply can't tell the difference anymore.
  11. By the looks of it your PC is actually half decent but the only problem is the CPU integrated graphics. I have no idea how you managed to play the game at 1920x1080 on igpu but you should be looking to add an actual dedicated graphic card. HD 7850 or better is recommended. It should run on low and maybe with some medium thrown in but you need to understand that your bottleneck is the HD 5570, which is now old card and never was a real gaming card to begin with. On the other hand HD 7850 and better would probably show a bottleneck in your CPU. See if you can upgrade to HD7850 or similar ( like at least GTX 650Ti ) Google Translate Причиной, скорее всего, ваш компьютер, а не игра. Это может быть перегрев компонент в компьютере или, возможно, даже питания. Убедитесь, что процессорный кулер надежно закреплен и все кабели плотно подключен от источника питания к GFX и везде. Скачать один из них, чтобы проверить, что ваша температура процессора http://www.techpowerup.com/realtemp/ http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/ You'd need to run bootcamp or how its called to run game/s under windows in mac which puts even more strain on the CPU. Since the CPU is now fairly old, including GPU, I'd say there no chance to run it. Your graphic card is holding you back considerably and even more so at 2560*1440. A HD 7870 or GTX 770 would be recommended. Little tricky. It should run on low since the integrated GPU is alright for laptop. Nothing spectacular but ok. Try and search for gamebooster thing that will disable unnecessary stuff while playing. It works. Keep your laptop plugged in to mains while gaming and on a table for best cooling as to avoid any underclocking. Ok here it is - http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html http://www.razerzone.com/gamebooster ( can be used for any laptop so yea ) This is one of the examples why i5 in laptop is better than an i7. Higher clock speed of the i5 ( generally / mostly ) The i7 is not a octa core, its 4 core and at 2.2 Ghz it is slow clocked, not to mention that the 16Gb is an utter waste of resources and money. The 740m should allow you to up the settings to decent medium but as said the CPU is holding you back Not only the core 2 duo is seriously outdated CPU today, it's also slow clocked at 2.66Ghz. Unfortunately the Geforce 320m is so weak that technically, it should not even be able to play movies. Apologies if being bit negative here but mac's are only good for document editing
  12. I agree with the above post, for the most part a least. As sad as it is, AMD chips are ok for console ports and less demanding games or games that preliminary rely on GPU than CPU. Since most today games are console ports, the AMD chips simply suffice and have more cores for 7 zip and video converting. But demanding games like oblivion, arma , skyrim + hd pack and such will always run better on intel. There's much more to it but should you be interested the internet tech sites are good place to start to find out more on that. The only part I disagree with in the post above is the i7 part. The benefit of having i7 is next to zero over i5 and that applies to work related tasks, for the most part as well. OP - you might want to see if you can source something like HD 7850 or HD 7870 instead of the basic 650 Ti, even if you have to go the used way from credible source.. It is not bad card but you will end up replacing it / wanting better soon after you put your PC together. Once again, I've put together this build for someone else on this forum for even slightly lesser budget - Not counting delivery and monitor / KB / mouse... http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/159342-will-this-work-as-a-general-gaming-pc/?p=1601357 You will not build a better PC for the money but people never listen...
  13. IMO dayz would step up another level if zombies were to had some form of gore. I'd be quite happy with some ''simple'' implementation if I could call that. Imagine shooting zombies with high calibre weapons and their leg or arm comes off. Would the community like to see anything like it?
  14. Ok I also get the part of adding sounds to the video and how much different is the approach to implementing such sounds in the actual game but arma modders came up with very immersing sounds without even having access to the core of the engine and done so with plethora walkarounds times again. One can excuse BI sound department from whatever angle they want but the matter that BI sound/s & implementation has been always far from priority and very subpar still stands. That said, I am delighted that team rocket is looking to change this this time around and hired a dedicated sound engineer. Can't wait for new sounds and hopefully providing some feedback
  15. Was there any acknowledgement or a hint from dev's about this? I wasn't able to find any roadmap that the dev team would even consider doing this
  16. I wouldn't trust the #1 because he is dressed for urban combat. He isn't even bothered to camouflage himself as he rarely leaves a city which even the picture background shows. The #2 strikes me as an forest survivor and his long range scope is either suggesting he's very careful person or simply snipes from shadows. The circumstance would change to exact opposite and #2 camo guy in town = bandit :)
  17. Oh the irony of you calling someone stupid troll. Apparently your lack of reading comprehension is special, so let me explain in more detail; I expressed, that from my experience it appears that the younger players are likely to seek the killing or otherwise enjoy griefing in game. Not calling anyone cheater but in popular games like COD, which even the elderly play in not small numbers, you would hardly find them cheating. I suggest to look up what taking the high ground means again. As of your reference to my position being weak and my ideas being trash, you probably mean some imaginary internet position but that aside, I never said my ideas were the best from them all but at least I have tried, whereas seeing as you contributed to this forums with staggering 10 ( 9 actually, if I count the one I am now replying to ) posts, would you mind and enlighten me in which way you feel valuable in these forums? I think I am starting to understand what you meant by teh internet position now. Back to KoS - I never said I want to eliminate KoS and I never said KoS is the only thing to do ingame either. The issue I have is that it's nearly guaranteed to get killed on sight which is not the way, or better yet, my way, of playing the game. What I am saying is that if zombies were to be removed, what really makes dayz so different from arma or how is it different from any other PVP oriented game? I hear you, yes the zombies are there but they are just minor annoyance. All I want is more in depth from dayz as I can already get my fix in project reality PvP yet actually enjoy some teamwork on top of it.
  18. First of all I can't find any more elegant solution to KoS myself ( So I'd have to disagree with arificial stress / post implementation ) and with that said I agree that while PvP is not a problem, KoS mentality is. I find it funny that the mature players are the ones usually trying to come up with some sensible solution and generally seems to agree that KoS mentality is a problem for them, whereas the younger act like they would kill IRL anyone who they don't like the look of. Likely? Yes, probably likely but I don't believe / find that the more mature players want to koss all they long. Or is it only me seeing this kind of pattern?
  19. That's a good build and should run very well. That said the 660 is getting little older but high should be definitely doable. Another good build, will run just fine but would not expect max settings. A fancy build with quality hardware. However unless you edit video, doing cloud or rendering heavily and on near daily basis, the i7 3770K is waste of money over i5 4670. If you insist on i7 CPU than step it up to LGA 2011 with i7 3930K. RAM - 2333Mhz check PSU - check, seasonic say no more GPU - 780 Ti check HDD > NO, stay away from seagate. WD Caviar blue series 7200rpm 1Tb is what you want. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822236339 You also don't list an SSD. Build such as this absolutely deserves SSD and any from reputable manufacturer will work. I'd recommend 250Gb or more What monitor are you going for? Enjoy the game, needn't worry. Aim for what looks good enough Ingame rather than just pushing sliders to the meaningless max settings. Should run very well, even for a laptop Np, see my reply one above. he's running 660 as well It should play somewhat well but your graphic card will hold you back. I wouldn't expect anything higher than medium.

    PC purchase

Hi pal you can try this build. Never mind the links, the HW is best you can get for the money. If you don't know how to put it together bring it to nearest PC shop and they can do it for you. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/159342-will-this-work-as-a-general-gaming-pc/page-2#entry1601357 That would be quite nice build but there's no reason whatsoever to buy as expensive motherboard as is the formula / ROG gear. Useless.

    KOS Hysteria

Admittedly some new spawns are just desperate or headless chickens without any thought lol. I was in berezino supermarket and saw a newb with nothing but a hatchet coming in so I hid behind the shelves farther from the main entrance. He somehow seen me and right away went for the kill. He glitched through the floor though and all I could see was his head and tips of his shoulders with said hatchet above his head so there we were running around in between shelves making it very hard to get a shot with my FNX45. He scored good 3 hits so I run to the supermarket backyard near wall to bandage myself and get out of that damn glitchy building. I bought the time I needed to bandage myself and aimed at the exit, knowing he would take far too many rounds to get anywhere close to me again. That didn't stop him and he wanted to finish me off so opened fire and he took good 6 shots to the chest before he dropped right in front of me. I think hes had a good chance with that hatchet in such close encounter have I not had bulletproof west and military helmet in pristine condition...who knows. Made me think again of being invincible in all that armor in tight space ;)
  22. You've got to lower the resolution - 1920*1200 is a serious resolution even for a desktop. Start at 1280x720 and see. Also right click on your C: drive and go to properties, then tools and optimize. Click clean system files and tick everything and delete. After that defragment your HDD twice. You can right click start and RUN feature, then type msconfig disable as many non microsoft programs as possible like skype, msn and so on. If unsure, take a screenshot and post it here. Everyone owning a laptop can try it
  23. The thing is that generally the 6300 overclocks better while its also cheaper. Only 30 quid cheaper but the performance increase with 8230 is not really worth the 30 as its rather negligible. However, if you can afford it than go for the 8320 one. Combined with the HD 7850 it will be nice rig but I can't tell you if max is doable in dayz, maybe high with some mix in between. Still though, I feel you could have superior build with intel if you were to ( or a friend ) build one
  24. That's not in (yet) but bandits would most definitely abuse it on yet another handcuffed newbie :P Furthermore you don't want to be tracked or give away your position just because you were starving ?
  25. I swapped the CPU for FX 6300 and PSU for corsair 550W, Xigmatek loki CPU cooler, and motherboard for gigabyte with 970 chipset. 990 chipset is too expensive but would be, well nicer. I meant to swap the HDD for WD Caviar blue but they don't have such option though I would stay away from seagate even if it meant getting the HDD elsewhere! ( WD caviar blue 7200RMP 32 Gb cache sata 2 or 3 is what you want, they come in 500Gb and 1 Tb ) Ram... cant you get 4Gb 1886Mhz from overclockers.uk? The 4Gb 1333Mhz will work fine but to get most out of the FX 6300 faster memory would be better. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-083-PA&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1180 As for GFX - at minimum you should be looking at GTX 650 Ti as anything lower than that will literally be shitty experience. Here is the edited link - http://www.computerplanet.co.uk/gaming/gx1000/builder.html
