If you stop playing, the terrorists hackers win, also, who gives a shit what font color someone uses in the forums.

How you play - Social experiment questions
Saim replied to Bobcomss's topic in New Player Discussion
How long you have been playing 2 weeks How often do you play 8 Days in a row for the first batch, slowed down a bit to every second/third day (small sample play time so hopefully that helps) 1-4 hour sessions each time. Upwards of 8 on the days where I have minmal other work to do. Why you have chosen that lifestyle Playing as a survivor since there's too many dickish bandits from the looks of it, my first encounter with a player was great, but it was the only good encounter so far. What drives you to play like that Most people shoot on site and I don't agree with it, trying to be the balance. A normal session in DayZ for you Sneak from tree stand to barn, to tree stand, skirt cities/factories etc and gather what I can and just explore the map as much as possible. Has this game affected aspects of your real life Not really, it just confirms that people are evvilllllll. What made you choose DayZ Zombies Survival games are far and few so this seemed like a good Why you play DayZ Zombie Survival is awesome (a stand alone less pvp version would be nice) (yeah i'm pussy blah blah stfu, it's just a preference) How you feel the team has done with the game Considering its just a mod, fantastic. I couldn't imagine they envisioned it taking off the way they have and its worked out pretty good. I'm looking forward to what they will do with it. The impact of Hackers/ scripters I haven't had the pleasure of dealing with them yet. I see battle eye kick/ban people several times a night though which tells me its definitely out there... If you have stopped playing or thinking of stopping, why Only been playing for a short time, but my friend (who loves ZS 1000 times more than I do) doesn't like it since its so stressful with the lack of end game and 'Why bother playing when everything you collect will be ripped away from you'. Will you be buying the stand a lone game Of course :) -
Scanning your area constantly is a great tip for new players since its easily over looked in the panic of running from borderline teleporting zombies or relentless bandits. Hell after the big burst of adrenaline you want to just chill for a second and take a deep breath, doesn't always work out that way though. Another tip since it isn't mentioned too often, that or I'm actually paying attention to the forums less than I thought. Run through tree's to lose zombies, pines work the best, if you can zip in around them enough and crouch/run you should be in clear instantly.

Hey Sires, Try to ignore the haters as much as you can, it's definitely recommended that you do a search in the forums/google/wiki, before posting. With all of the people picking this mod up (myself included, never playing Arma prior either mind you) there's a lot that has been answered already. If you can’t' find anything after searching around by all means ask away. A small tip (think Itchy's genitals small) and in addition to the 'Closing doors will break bones' careful crawling around in prone on buildings/dear stands, a friend of mine has had some nasty injuries this way, I personally haven't. Just something to be aware of. Good luck in Chernarus, and remember that any game with a first person view and guns draws quite the admirable crowd.

Newbies log, attempt one at survival. (if this isn't the place for a survivor to post this let me know and I'll move it.) TLDR: Karl saved me time and time again but gravity still won. Thanks for all the help Karl. I finally started DayZ last night (yay me!), I had this vision that 'yeah I'm going to rock this game' despite how unforgiving it sounded and how awful some of the posts were about bandits... I could not have been more wrong... Spawning near the coast as per the usual it sounds like I started to fumble with the controls and get familiar, apparently me moving around made too much noise though and drew the watching remaing eye of a walker in a hamlet just down the hill. Not realizing this until he was on me, I started to run bleeding to the water nearby hoping, just hoping, that he couldn't swim. Thankfully I was right. Not wanting to move out too far for fear of drowning I started swimming down the coast a little (still not realizing I'm bleeding out) and found a safe-ish spot on the shore where I noticed all the blood. After patching myself up and trying to get in to a nearby town with no luck due to all the not-so-friendlies I hit the woods. After about 10 minutes of wandering I stumbled across another town with what looked like only a handful of walkers kicking around, at this point I've realized I can crouch/sneak and the ear and eye in the top right are my best friends at the moment, my only friends really, there hasn't been a sign of anyone so far which was kind of expected. I sneak close to the barn/shack on the out skirts of town only to clumsily draw more attention to my self and the zombie committee comes to welcome me. I dart across the bridge heading...left? No idea which way is up anymore, all I know is I have to run and keep running. I zig to the left and see a pond (will this work twice, will water save me again?) the firm answer is no, its a god damn pond not an ocean. I'm screwed. No where to run or hide, no idea what I'm doing, this is the quick end to my first attempt at suriving. Shots fired. Hopefully not at me, I'm too worried the zombies on roids will catch me to turn around and look (the number pad keys 1, 4, 7, 3, 6, 9 would have been nice to know at the time). All the growling and drooling seems to have stopped so I hesitantly stop to look, and here comes a scary guy in a mask running towards me. At this point with my button mashing I've realized how I can talk, but still not sure if I'm dead meat from this 'bandit' toying with me or if I've the luckiest person alive (emphasis on the alive) Turns out, this stranger is awesome and his name is Karl. Not only did he kill the zombies, he's offered a helping hand. The cut the story short, after patching me up from the lack of blood and keeping me limping along, helping me find pain meds and a shotgun, being chased out of a town from a horde of zombies into a city fully of more zombies, into a hospital, patching me up some more with blood so I can finally god damn see again. I fall off a ladder and die. Sorry for dieing in such a stupid way Karl, but thank you for showing me how awesome this mod is so far. I'll be back on again tonight to go see if there's anything left on my body (hopefully you've looted it, I would hate for any of it to go to waste)
