  1. Most of the times, you won't know when you are affected by a hacker. The server nukers, teleporters and thunderdomers are a minority. The majority of hackers who gain personal advantages such as ESP or godmode are a lot harder to detect. Most of the time people will simply write those off as random acts of banditry.
  2. I can help you by turning you back into human. Will you keep your gear after turning back? That I don't know. Most zombies never get the chance to turn back. Contact me with your ingame character's name and times when you are available. To other posters: regretfully "zombie" is a skin, not a morph like cows, dogs, etc. The "zombie" skin works like a ghillie suit, so it's not something that can be fixed via relog.
  3. Are you certain you were killed by the bullet, or did the bullet miss and the hacker got pissed then killed you with a kill script? To my knowledge there isn't an aimbot script. Of course, in these set of circumstances it's possible that the shot was legit - you got really unlucky and the sniper got really lucky.
  4. This game isn't ready yet for Alt+F4 delay, timer, etc. Alt+F4 is pretty much the only defense a legitimate player has against hackers.

    Random weapon type change

It's a hacker script. This one in particular "gives gear", however if there is already gear present the existing gear will be overridden. Awhile ago a hacker used this script on the server I was on, and it was applied to all players instead of any individual player or himself. The result was that everyone on the server now has a FAL in hand, a M4 SD in their new coyote bag, rangefinders, NV goggles, a ghillie suit, all the tools, and various consumables.

    AS50 TWS loot?

Or just relog, and it will disappear from your gear.
  7. Went there awhile ago. Decided to log out on top of tower. A day later when I logged back in I noticed the zombies were growling quite loudly downstairs. It turned out some survivor has stirred up a horde and was trying to escape by climbing the ladder inside the tower. I did what I had to do. I guess he got a ghost story of his own to share, or a story in which he simply died to a single bullet to the head from above.
  8. Interesting. On NZ 23 I too saw this announcement. The location was precisely 58 132 as well, and it was ran by a player named "Sickness". At this location, there are two rows of non-Day Z vehicles, a pile of coyote backpacks, a row of medical and weapon boxes, and inside the hanger there are half a dozen armed NPCs who were not attacking on sight. The loot hand out was probably legit, but the entire process is the result of hacking (including the server message). Since the similarities are too great, and I don't think these two occurrences were hosted by the same person, my guess is that this is a new script some hacker has made. It is in a sense similar to ThunderDome - instantly creating a lot of objects at a specific location, then displaying server-wide messages. The only difference is that players weren't teleported there. EDIT: Now that I see the original poster's name, I realise how foolish my earlier statement was. I guess Mr Sickness is just advertising for his new script now. I hope you enjoyed your Lock earlier.
  9. At some point the there was a de-sync. That or the chopper was initially spawned by a hacker, then damaged. Hacker-spawned vehicles disappear upon server restart.
  10. It could have been an invisible hacker who was closely following you, moving as you move so that the movement sounds overlap.
  11. Yes. Hackers can also teleport vehicles. Further, since vehicles spawned via script will disappear after server restart, hackers actually have to find and steal legit vehicles. Not sure why people are pointing fingers at admins. These things are commonly done by hackers on a daily basis.
  12. A single invisible hacker. Mystery solved.
  13. Hackers can spot all the vehicles on the map.
  14. When you get a chance, try a New Zealand server during our evening (GMT +12), filter for "NZ" and look for ON3 and Orcon hosts. Head to Electro/Cherno, and you may encounter one or more of the following: 1. Fleets of cars on the road. 2. Lots of choppers. 3. NPCs in ghillie suit/military uniform. 4. Get nuked. 5. Thunderdome. 6. Get turned into a zombie. 7. Get sniped by invisible people while rolling in thick grass. 8. Find crates filled with 100 of all the weapons in the game. NZ server is truly ahead of the rest of the world, it's DayZ's future if more is not done. Go back to your US server and realise just how playable the game actually is on your server.

    Randomly Died

A hacker is capable of doing all of these. It's even possible that you were never sniped. Chances are a hacker was invisible, used a silenced weapon to kill your first friend, then tracked the two of you via ESP and/or map marker. Perhaps he killed you both at close range with silenced weapon to the head, or a simple kill command (which can kill any number of players, specifically targeted, or the whole server).
  16. It's not bullshit. Hackers I have a script that changes their or other players' skin, one of the skin is zombie. It's similar to changing players into dogs or birds.

Spent a nice day at Thunderdome.

Alt+F4 more quickly next time. As long as you see that something is happening to your scenery, you should spam Alt+F4 before your surroundings fully load.

    Saving tents and vehicle issues

It's possible that some or all of the vehicles came from hackers. This doesn't necessarily mean that some of your clan members spawned the vehicles via script, but it's possible that they obtained them from hackers (without knowledge) either by finding them or killing the hackers. Remember the phrase "illegal copies may degrade"? Upon a server restart any vehicle that was spawned via script will disappear. ADD: It's also possible that someone simply stole the vehicles. Hackers have vehicle markers and can spot any vehicle on the map, regardless of how well hidden it is.

    Hacking complaints -

The majority of hacking is unreported, and undetected by fellow players. The average hacker is smart enough to avoid attention or pulling off anything too obvious. It's usually only the server nukers and jet fliers who are visible to the public.

    Hacking complaints -

Don't pretend that the cancer isn't growing in this game. You are exceedingly lucky to encounter a hacker only once, or perhaps you have actually died countless times to hackers without realising that they are hackers. A hacker doesn't have to nuke you to kill you, often enough they will be able to track you with ESP and map markers and pull off that ambush you considered as bad luck.
  21. It's very likely that he was a hacker who simply spawned the weapon. While a large majority of hackers are griefers, there are the random few who sneak up on people in invisibility and put loot into people's bags.

    G36

Don't take hacked guns. You won't get banned for wielding them, since ban requests will fall flat if there is no trace of hacking (from you) on the server logs. Nonetheless guns which don't exist in DayZ disappear after relog.
