Is this Panthera server running a different BETA to you ? You could try installing the same BETA as the server ? Or maybe this server has a custom version of Panthera that is NOT the Vilayer one supplied by DZC. Is there any indication of the server being non-standard in it's title ?

Is there such an uninformative message ? Usually you get some clue, whether it is 'ping too high' or 'you are missing files that have been deleted....'

8 pounds ?! They are selling it for 8 pounds ?!!! It is a bargain at 5 times the price - which is what I paid for mine back in the day. -
Maybe you have an integrated graphics card that Arma 2 doesn't work well with ? Can you list your full specs ? Do you have the Steam version, or the original DVD version, or a Steam Arma 2 and a traditional (DVD) Arrowhead mix ? Have you tried forcing Dayz to run in DirectX9 mode in the DayZ Commander settings ? Did you do all the things that you are about to feel insulted that I asked - installed the latest Arma 2 beta, installed the latest version of DayZ ? Installed your latest graphics and audio card drivers ? Installed all the latest Microsoft updates ? Try running the game as is now, but with Process Explorer running and see what percentage the CPU is running at - maybe it is running at a high average over your 4 (or 7) cores ? And Speedfan can tell you what temperature your CPU is running at when you run the game. Both of these should tell you if there are bottleneck issues with your CPU. The Arma 2 engine is a heavyweight bastard mutherfucker and is very demanding of the user's system, it is is doing much, much more than the old New Las Vegas engine is doing at any one time. Do you get the same problem if you play Arma 2 Arrowhead ? You can forced Directx9 with the -winxp command line parameter in your shortcut. Or is it just DayZ ?

Helicopters - zombie kills and combat counter

EVERY weapon, handheld, or vehicle mounted refills your current mag when you log off and back in again on 1.7.4.4 not just the vehicle mounted guns. "Zombie farming" is legit PvE. Landing your copter and killing zombies has more risk attached than doing a Chernarus Longbarn Massacre because at least the zeds have a chance to attack the copter from the opposite side, whereas the poor zed hordes who repeatedly wander into a Chernarus Longbarn have zero chance of every getting to you if you have an AK or above. Rules of engagement should be applied across the board and not selectively as you are suggesting. I would also like to add that mounted gun on the UAZ (on Taviana.EU at least) is the same as helicopters in that the kills don't count and the countdown clock isn't started. Also if the zeds try to attack you when you are on the gun, they can never ever damage you, you get the 'whump' sound but your blood never goes down (unlike if you are in the driver's seat), you are untouchable. Also, clipping a tree or an object in your vehicle at speed starts the countdown clock (!) -

You should switch to the official dot EU version that is supported by Martin, the dot com version is not supported by Martin. -

Its a dayz bug. The spawn script only executes when a player is within 120m - on foot. The game doesn't recognize vehicles as players, or containing players, so the loot spawn script never gets to execute.

I put on camo clothes and dissembled a tank trap, and got 4500 humanity. I dunno if that bug is fixed now?

Taviana is mostly ocean. For landmass, Chernarus is much bigger.

Lets not forget their bugged attack mechanic. The 'hit/miss' result is calculated at the BEGINNING of their attack animation rather than when the arms are fully extended. How many times have you been wrongly hit by a zed from 10m away that began its attack mechanism when you ran past it? Bloody annoying! -
Just install Namalsk 0.60, no bloodsuckers or EVR event in that.

You have to wonder why there has been no 'official' reply to so many people asking WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE. I looked for myself, and no wonder Dayzland.com aren't replying because their version is really lacking when compared to Dayzland.eu (and yet .com is thrashing .eu when it comes to the number of active servers !) I'm glad you are putting a 'slightly noticeable' 4 minute warning on the EVR, but what if you logon to a server after that 4 minute warning ? You risk getting blasted into nothingness for no fault of your own other than unfortunate timing. Couldn't you add a 1 minute warning as well ? The EVR thing, doesn't it actually discourage players from exploring the map ? If I log into a server i'm damn well not going outside until the next EVR event occurs - and that's not a good thing or a fun thing with regards to gameplay - I could be waiting in a building for upto 40 minutes (or whatever it is). What about the Single Player CRISIS game ? When will the next instalment be out ? The version I had ended at the mine.

Awesome ideas. But most of us have been spoiled by the private hives with their enticing offers of vehicles that don't need repairing. I can't imagine how awful it would be to have to go back to collecting engine parts, fuel tank, windscreen, scrap metal, spare tyres and jerry cans - when I can just jump in a vehicle and drive away.

So there's no warning at all that the EVR is about to happen ? What if you just joined the server, how could you possibly know if the next event is in 40 minutes or 40 seconds time ? Are you just going to hang around inside a building until the next event passes ? This is not one of Sumrak's best thought out ideas.
