Its not really unfair, as everyone has that same advantage on 3rd person servers. So you won't be able to acquire loot more effciently or stuff like that. Just join one of the first-person-only servers, whats the problem?

Do you feel bad about taking things from other people's tents?

[DayZMod] The Dayz Statistics thread!
DieBrotmafia replied to Ander (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Announcements & Info
Laptops are great if you're not at home and want to play for an hour (thats how long the battery will last). This is all fine for this purpose. But if you're thinking about only using it at home, a normal pc is cheaper, has better specifications, you can get a better monitor and so on... A laptop uses the power my graphics card alone needs, so obviously it can't be as good for the money even if it runs DayZ just fine. Not arguing with the whole mobility thing though, if thats the reason you bought it fine. -
What does this even mean? You can see all players on the map and wreck locations? What about the towns, they're already on the map? I don't like this at all if it means what I think it means. The whole thing about this game is about exploring something you don't know a lot about, trying to find things in a world thats somewhat confusing. This was what made the whole fun in the beginning (before you found maps) and still does with random encounters of players and heli spawns. According to Rocket, Zeds are the main reason why the games performance is so bad. I already got 14 fps in Cherno (outside of the cities its really fine), IMO introducing more zombies as long as they aren't optimized is not a good idea at all. The rest sounds good though.

Proof that bags are too small
DieBrotmafia replied to Sterling (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I think the bags are large enough. After all, you can put in whole helicopter rotors, tires, several full jerrycans and stuff... -
What is the point of this game now?
DieBrotmafia replied to LordHussyPants's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Join only fully populated servers, go to the north west airfield... Chances are high you can start all over again. -
How many of you bought arma 2 just for dayz?
DieBrotmafia replied to Minariability's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I bought it for DayZ. I played Arma 1 way back in the past but I really didn't care much about Arma 2. I think I'll play some Arma 2 now. -
I don't even understand what the matter is. Rocket you get requests to do interviews and emails from people who want to know about the game progress? So what? You got a spam folder, no? This makes you think about resigning? You are stressed because people ask questions? You aren't able to do a weekly 10 minute update and give some transparency for the people that are out there waiting? Man the fuck up, seriously. If you think its too much pressure because for whatever reason this game needs to be perfect to you, you could communicate it that way. And maybe go to some cognitive behavioral therapist and get some help.

It should at least be somewhat playable. Look at the current WarZ outrage. I look at the forum everyday because its so much fun to see fanboys slowly realizing how shit the game is. If you release a game too early there definitly can be some outrage and if you lose most of the customers because most people will buy immediately, they won't come back and you have a dead game.

Would you quit if servers went expert?
DieBrotmafia replied to bad_mojo (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I wouldn't care. I like first person as much as third person. -
24/7 Daylight Servers... UGH?
DieBrotmafia replied to Jεricho's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I like to play in the dark. But one thing that should be changed: - Duping should be not possible at all - NVGs should break once your character dies If both doesn't happen, the number of people with NVGs will increase a lot. If the number is small I don't care. But if the number is huge, its a real disadvantage for the people to play at night if other people can see like its daytime. I really like playing at night time. -
Why did the DayZ players changed so much?(From friendly kids to backstabbing twats)
DieBrotmafia replied to privatewolf's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I see several reasons: In the beginning, lots of players were typical Arma 2 players. The Arma 2 playerbase in general consists of older, 40-year old more mature players that prefer a simulation over a shooter. They all worked together as a team in various Arma 2 missions, looking at the game like a simulation, knowing to take the time with a game, not shoot immediately and so on... Later on, the Call of Duty kiddies appeared after the game got viral. They are used to shooting on sight, don't know a lot about simulation and immersing yourself in the world, playing a game for hours without even getting in contact with an enemy. They play it like they're used to from other games, get likely bored more easily as they weren't attracted by the Arma 2 kind of games to begin with. Also at the start of the game, the new people didn't look at external maps. They were thrown in that big world not knowing where they are and how the game works except the basic controls. This was the case for me. Finding a new player here gave me a huge benefit, I could ask him what he knew about the map, where to go, where good loot is and so on... Walk with him so he could show me directions. This benefit disappeared once external maps got used by everyone with loot maps and everything. No reason to talk to someone cause he might help you with some good information. Not this immersion and survival anymore, but having a plan where to go, the big red dot on the loot map. Now its goal-oriented like Counterstrike, not about immersion and just surviving anymore. The biggest game-breaker is looking at external maps. If you're new to the game, just don't do it. If you find an ingame map fine. At least you don't see the loot spots and you still need to locate yourself somehow. Not to forget the joy of finding the first ingame map. -
Chernarus Bigger then Namalsk?
DieBrotmafia replied to thevbjboy's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Chernarus is around 4 times as big as Namalsk (if you exclude the sea). This is quite important, cause a 50 player Namalsk server is like a 200 player Chernarus server basically. -
I played on Namalsk. Looted one of these military trucks that are lying on the side. Found the first Night Vision googles in this game... And these are defect? There is a red cross and in the description it says they probably get destroyed by an emp or something. I can wear them but they won't work. What is this sorcery? Never saw such a thing, googled and can't find anything regarding this. Whats going on? I want my NVgs :-(

Found defect Night Vision goggles?!?!

Found defect Night Vision goggles?!?!
DieBrotmafia replied to DieBrotmafia's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Someone in another thread mentioned it would be possible with scrap metal. I got toolbox, scrap metal and the broken thing but it doesn't seem to be fixable or I don't know how. -
So what is special about namalsk
DieBrotmafia replied to Slyguy65's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Ok, got scrap metal, toolbox and broken NVGs. How do I repair? Right clicking in inventory doesn't do anything. -

Are there working NVgs to be found on Namalsk? -
Devblog details on engine architecture for DayZ
DieBrotmafia replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
Maybe with the performance improvements you could change zombies spawning only if a player is in proximity of 300 meters or so. I always know a player is in town or a certain area if the zombies didn't bulk up. Zombies always being there regardless of players would be amazing. -
Why you DON'T enter the laboratory in Namalsk(Funny video)
DieBrotmafia replied to {N3RD2} HazardousJJ's topic in DayZ Mod Gallery
I have to say that kinda ruins the immersion for me... -
Why you DON'T enter the laboratory in Namalsk(Funny video)
DieBrotmafia replied to {N3RD2} HazardousJJ's topic in DayZ Mod Gallery
if you go there with your whole squat and a single person camps outside... you'll never get out? Given he doesn't suicide jump down there. -
The safest game style is to minimize exposure to other players. So don't go in zones where other players are in the first place. Don't shoot if someone clearly is far away and didn't see you. If he saw you and or comes in your direction and chances are good he will see you, shoot him on sight.

Is your cdkey being wasted?

How much are you willing to pay for a used key -
well that was fun while it lasted
DieBrotmafia replied to That1neguy's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Don't be jealous, just gave you some beans too. Now you're happy? I didn't give him beans only for his honesty, I told him I'm glad he got banned as well. I imagine that he learned something from his mistake and won't cheat in the future again as he said, it was more fun while he didn't cheat. I agree with this, even if its unfortunate he resorted to cheating to find that out. I can understand that once you see how other people (and lots of them) exploit, dupe, cheat, have night vision goggles far more often then should be expected - the game loses some of its fun.
