Firstly, sorry for the double post. I've decided to begin collecting resources for the app whilst waiting for Rocket's permission. I figure it's now or never and this particular task will take a long time so starting now is for the best. I know I could be potentially wasting a lot of time and that's why I was hoping I could get a little help from those with the weapons already. At the moment I'm collecting in game images of weapons whilst I build the weapon section; I'll collect general loot after this is compiled. I've grabbed a list courtesy of DayZWiki.com of all the weapon images we need: If anyone has any of these weapons and wouldn't mind taking the time to screen shot them and posting here (or maybe PM would be kinder for the mods?) for use in this app, I would be eternally grateful. I'll also be able to give out beta versions to around 50 people, and free versions (if it's a pay for app - If I need a server I'll have to cover some of my costs some how :S) to around 100 people. I'll keep this list updated should I receive an image of the weapon. Unfortunately the screens I took last night of the Makarov, Lee Enfield and hatchet only showed my desktop, shortly before bleeding out :( Also I'm in two minds as to whether it's worth having another info page for variants like the M4A1, M4A1 CCO and M4A1 CCO SD. I might just have a "Variants" field under the stock M4A1 and just list these there instead. Thoughts? Mods: I hope it's Ok to reuse my thread like this, if not please let me know and I'll create a separate thread.

ShinFace started following Day Z iOS App

Sweet, lots of great ideas! Now I just need to find a way to contact Rocket for his approval :)

Thanks for the encouragement and I agree, seeing as Day Z is in alpha a lot of stuff is changing rapidly I'd have certain data provided by my server. App updates usually take around 2 weeks to be accepted and pushed out and this could be too long for major changes.

Update - Just found there is in fact a "gamer guide" for Day Z on the iOS store. It's not free and unaffiliated, so I believe we can do much better.

Thanks for the suggestions, I didn't expect replies so quickly! Thanks for the suggestions Lysander; As for free Vs a charge, I think that should be up to Rocket! Jtyler1995 - It's easy enough to add iPad compatibility so I would definitely include that :) drseptapus + Dickhat - Thanks, that thread was helpful indeed. I was hoping there'd be a JSON page somewhere with game stats (total players, bandits, zombies killed etc). I've done some work on Android and have an Android device so should be able to do an Android version too. Harry0))) - Sweet, I'll contact you should I need graphics help, thanks! If the app gets the go-ahead I'll distribute beta versions here to those who've had good suggestions and are willing to test it further.

Hi there, I was quite surprised to see that there are no Day Z apps is only one low-quality Day Z app on the iOS app store, and have been thinking about a free "mobile survival kit" app I'd like to develop. I have a few ideas for this app already, such as (with permission) pulling down server stats and game stats, basic guides (bandages, sneaking, hunting etc), and a map. I've built the framework for it but I'd like to first make sure that I have permission from Rocket and whomever else before completing and releasing it and potentially stepping on peoples' toes. I realise that Day Z is great because of it's immersion and so would have to make sure the app isn't too helpful! If this app is given the go ahead, what would you like to see included? Any suggestions? PS - I tried to contact Rocket directly but he's very illusive (for good reason, I'm sure!) :P
