How does storage work in DayZ?
Sgt.Scoots replied to a_casual_banana's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yes, the same amount of slots that is required to store an item also applies to anything that stores items. -
Really though. All the beans. And even going as to searching arma forums for me still trying to find the solution. And I will take those threads into consideration. My HDD is getting rather full and I'll keep a close eye on that to make sure it won't cause any future problems.

The problem is resolved. It seems what it was, was that since I had installed it previously using Six; Six installed Dayz the traditional way. As if steam wasn't involved. So since I had installed the Dayz mod manually and followed the installation process for steam the freezes no longer occur. My theory is that since steam kept launching and using an outdated version of ARMA; and Six was launching the game through the beta update means.. Battleye saw a conflict in the two beta patches and created immense net lag for the game out of its confusion. Or something like that.. Drogur I thank you for taking me through the troubleshooting process and getting this resolved once and for all. You can have all my beans forever.

Okay, so. There are no freezes when in windowed... However I still don't know if it was because I windowed it, or because I actually did the correct way of installing it by using the STEAM installation directions. Before, I had installed Dayz using Six.

It only shows the wrong update when I launch it with steam, though. If launched by any other means ARMA shows the correct build that I installed myself.

Hrm.. one moment. I did notice, however, how when I do play Dayz and launch from either Six Launcher or DayzCommander it shows the right version that I had recently installed. But when I launch Arma2CO from Steam it lists a much earlier build. Build 95248 I don't ever launch from steam though, I can't join any servers because of a bad version. But I am able to join when launching from Six or Dayzcommander. I'm going to reiterate and say that I was able to play Dayz for a good while; I've clocked in 40+ hours before all this.

EDIT: Went into Arma2 and the same message popped up; no freezes. Game continued on normally.

@Drogur That's the thing though... I've actually been in game playing for a good 5 minutes while battleye is updating. And then as SOON as that message pops up it starts to do the constant freezes.

Yep, have combined ops as well (Not separate clients) off steam and it does it for me as well. What bothers me most is that it was working perfectly fine and then suddenly one day this starts. Been searching so long for a fix for this and yet there's nothing.

I had been dealing with these constant freezes in game. The game would freeze for 1 second every 3 seconds. Which leaves it to be virtually unplayable for me. Previously there were no problems with Dayz. No FPS lag and the game runs perfectly fine on high settings. I've played for many days without this problem. But then one day after the recent update the freezes start; and after trying to find out what the hell was going on I figured out that it had to do with Battleye. What would happen is: -I join a server and get into Multiplayer setup. -I see that Battleye is initialized and shortly after it says Battleye Client: Server requiring version 1.167. Up-To-Date Battleye Client: Server computed GUI - (Long code) AS SOON as it does that it starts to freeze. Earlier I had uninstalled and reinstalled Battleye manually. It actually worked fine I got into the game and it wasn't freezing. Battleye had said it was updating. Then "Battleye Client: Server requiring version 1.167. Up-To-Date" and it starts to freeze again. All my attempts have been exhausted to this point. I have no idea what to do to fix this.

For me; the problem seems to be Battleye. I do get the random freezes in-game, and can actually see if it will freeze up in the multiplayer setup window. It will do the repeated freezes from there. However, there is absolutely no lag or freezes when searching for a server in-game. (Not using Dayz Commander) What I do see; is when I go into multiplayer setup it doesn't start freezing until AFTER battleye initializes. That's the exact point of when it starts to freeze. I have reinstalled and also manually installed Battleye multiple times to fix this. But unfortunately it seems to be very persistent. This has actually caused me to not play for a while- this annoying freeze that prevents me to play effectively. EDIT- Would anyone please tell me if this the same for them? If you're having freezes check if it only happens after Battleye initializes.
