A DayZ mode designed for progression

I think some other 'alternative modes like this or the 'hunger games' style one would be a fun thing to add if it is possible to change it up a little bit. -
A couple thoughts, Refill magazines + Refill Blood Bags.

Not a fan of refilling used bloodbags, definitely wouldnt want that irl lol, however having ammo and refillable magazines would be a nice feature to add -
I think levelling up and implementing skills takes away from what makes Dayz...well, DayZ.

I really would love to see base-building alongside fortification of existing buildings I think there's a lot that could be done with these mechanics especially if you start to add generators into the mix. -

I agree with more vehicles if it's going to be on a larger map. vehicles are pretty easy to find if you know where to look for them. pro-tip check the west border and the north border! -
I don't think you should start with any type of weapon as that is one of the great parts about this game, the high learning curve and difficulty is what makes the game challenging and fun for most people imho

what you are asking for is more diverse loot spawns essentially, not related to 'quests' imho...

Rocket said something about wanting to be able to host a significantly higher number of players per server with larger maps a while ago, and I think that this will be conducive to more (larger) clans on a single server. You could always post a challenge over on the general discussion board and see if anyone bites -

I agree with the stacking of smaller items or at least making them take up less slots or something along those lines. However with blood transfusions, I believe its implemented the way it is to promote teamwork and surviving solo with meat or even food is possible just more difficult. I think the main point for the dayz team right now is giving some incentives to work together so we'll see how they implement it in the future... -
I think that because the engines are very closely related, this may not be such a strain on the dev team as it sounds, also being developed in parallel doesn't necessarily mean that they will both be implementing the same features together, although we will have to see as this is just speculation at this point.

Rough Idea of possible player built communities!

Rocket has stated that he would really love to see a base building mechanic in the game and he's currently looking at the best way to implement that. This is number one on my wish lists to be included in the game. I believe this would make the game even more amazing than it is now. He mentioned he was working on underground instanced bases, but I hope there is some above ground stuff as well. I want to build all the things! -

The Hunger Games Style

I don't really think the games atmosphere lends itself to a mechanic like this. There are a few things that could be implemented from the hunger games though. Maybe have a different game mode that last person standing and as players are killed off supplies become more and more scarce. -
there has been no announcement when the patch is going to be released, looks like we are just going to have to be patient here until the DayZ team decides to post when its going to be implemented.

Building bases and millitary transport.

While I agree with the building of structures, having tanks in the game wouldn't really go with the feeling of zombie apocalypse survival. That being said, i think maybe something like a small plane wouldnt hurt (think a cessna) for transportation, most especially if the maps are going to be significantly larger -
Love the ideas, also there is no reason why there only has to be only one map, could have multiple maps!

The DayZ team are building this game as authentic as possible. That means while it may suck that you sometimes get killed right away it is going to happen. -
While it sounds like it would be a great idea, there are too many ways too abuse this between friends. Say your clan wants to scope out an area, they send in their buddy who is a zombie and takes away all risk. That being said if the dayz team could find a way to circumvent this from happenning then by all means, I just see too big a window for abuse of this mechanic.

Would this happen in authentic real-life scenario? I think thats why rocket took away bandit skins in the first place. Yes there will be greifers because pepople are anonymous etc. What happens if people know there is no law at all, do you think that there would be no -one who kills for the sake of killing? Maybe not on the same scale but it would happen.

You said he is mitigating the risk, but how do you think he managed to get the gear to stash at his camp in the first place. Assuming we are not talking about duping/hacking. Making it sound like you couldn't do it yourself. I can tell you that when our clan goes out to get more supplies for our base that there is a very real risk of danger because there are other people going to the same locations as us. Doesn't mean we have to go to Cherno or Elektro to do so...
