Hahahaha, great job! It is hilarious that they did not recognize they have an enemy sitting on board! LOL! They are really the WORST heli team ever :) What a fail.

I found a sniper watching Elektro from the sniper hill. I shot him unconscious with my last bullet, he was bleeding like hell, then grab him at his neck and dragged him through the forest until he bled out ^^. It is a good way to save bullets and when the guy wakes up he cannot do anything but watch me dragging him to death :) His complete AS50, Ghillie and so on did not avoid my revenge of the poorly armed. I think the sniper was hoping for a more honorful death.

If I have no gear and I have to kill another survivor with my hatchet - I do so! If I even get rewarded for killing the other guy. I do so with a lot of fun. If I die in this attempt - I do not care because I do not lose anything which is worth. win/win situation :P

I killed a cow and then it dissapeared! Ninja cows..... True story. And I got killed serveral times during my DayZ adventures.

My avatar is Hirano Kōta. He is one of the main characters in Highschool of the Dead (Zombie Anime / Besides Death Note my fav anime). Kohta is an excellent marksman with many different types of guns - like me :D

I like Celle very much! There is a huge amount of residentials for camo and ghillies. You have quite a lot barracks with decent gear and a lot of action on this map. I never have been sniped upon spawn. The OP is just unlucky.

It is great how interested the people are in this forum. I am from Ger and to read the different pronounciations is really funny (NOT in a bad way!). But the two soundfiles are completely right. I like this map very much. A lot of residentials, Celle itself is a great PvP spot, the map has two airfields with a lot of barracks.

Maybe you are just too new to the game and to noobish (sorry - really no offense!). I am playing in a squad as well as single. Soloplay: My best score was a six man squad against me. I was able to kill 4 of them and then I retreated after I recognized the last two survivors were trying to flank me. So, no, you are not always a victim of bigger groups. Always check your six, always be careful and “camp” the location you want to loot before running into open fields or into villages. This game needs a lot more patience and tactics to play like other games. That is it what it makes so special. And you really have to run around for 2 hours to get some decent loot? Poor bambi. You will learn the maps and you will get a lot faster in looting decent gear. E.g. I gear up in Chernarus in roundabout 30 min – 1h without being transported by a vehicle. Ok, then I do not have weapons like an AS50 or NV goggles, but at least an AK or a M4. Squadplay: Find some friends and try it with them. A lot of servers have teamspeak servers. Connect to one and ask if there are guys who want to play with you. The most of them are really nice :) You need just some experience in this game and it is something completely different compared to other games. Have you ever tried to set up a camp by your own? It also works for lone wolves. But, to be honest, I do not think this game is the right one for you. Your mindset towards this game is not the right one. If you are stressed by gearing up, dying, gear up again and so on – then you won’t have fun. This is an essential part of the experience. A lot of players are hostile, right – but there are also some out there who aren’t. Approach other survivors with extreme caution. You have two options: Get experience – with the map, with the weapons, with loot paths, with other players. I promise you, it will be worth it. It is a hard way to learn and can be frustrating. But in the end you will get the reward of a great gaming experience. Get another game which suits you more. There are plenty of FPS out there where you get your weapons at the beginning and you can start fighting instantly.

Hello Survivor! Welcome to the DayZ community. Here we are very friendly and polite. Ingame be very careful! Most of the people here kill you for your beanzzzz ^^ But nevertheless, WELCOME to the most intense game ever :)

I am not sure if it is ok, that I am posting this link. If not, the forum devs can delete it. I have a significant increase in the fps by using RAMDisk. Oshi7 made a nice tutorial about it: Maybe it can help you if you have enough RAM.

I buyed ArmA 2:CO only because of DayZ. But when the hackers drove me crazy I tried some other mods. E.g. Takistan Life Revolution or Wasteland and I have to say ArmA 2 is a great game with so much to offer. And if you buy it, you support Bohemia which is also a good thing. Like Rooneye said it is underrated. If you do not have spare money you can wait for the standalone of DayZ. I hope it will come in December (but they won't rush the game, so it also can be January - check here: http://dayzdev.tumblr.com/post/36771692833/dev-report-november-2012 ) so the waiting time is not too long. And with the buy of DayZ SA you also support the devs. I love that game and I could not wait, in it's state right now it is also a lot of fun. It is completely up to you and how patient you are :)

Now you know why I like DayZ. There I can live out my darkest dreams of fraggin' innocent rabbits ;) Yes, it is Hirano Kōta. The weapons specialist. One of the best animes I've ever seen :)

I am over 30 and I behave like 12 :P I am the chief sniper and D-bag deluxe. I kill everything on sight like survivors, goats, rabbits and of course vehicles. After that I t-bag my fallen enemies..... No, seriously: I try to communicate with the other survivors. And my experience is the following: it does not matter if someone is 14 or 35, it doesn't matter if someone is female or male. The only important thing is skill and understanding of the game. I am no bandit, but it is ok if there are bandits and they can also kill on sight, IF they fight against geared players and no fresh spawns. This stereotypical bullshit like you are 14, you have to be an idiot is really dumb. I've met a lot of players and through my experience I cannot say this group or that group is a bunch of complete idiots. It depends on every single person!

I am sure that it will be released in Dec. Why? Because I am buying a new rig for it and I will play it with my new computer :) as well as I have my holiday from the 12th of Dec. So everything looks good to go (from my side). Now it is Rockets turn.

I recognized that it depends on the server. For instance on DE995 (a Celle Server / private hive) you get the male / female box. On the Vilayer, as said before, there is male only without the chance to select. Just try different servers.

This is just a result of those pesty hackers. That is why I also switched to private hive servers. If you get killed over and over because of these script kiddies, you try to find a solution. And those private hives helped a lot. Of course there is sometimes a hacker, but not every 30 min. I abandoned my fully geared char on public hives, because it is just no fun to run through the wilderness and you get teleported, killed, and so on. As Venom56k wrote - get one or two private hive servers and create a char there. This cannot be a big problem because if you play on publics your char will get killed by a hacker. There is no question IF you get killed by a hacker, the question is just WHEN. Then you also have to start all over again. And why not start on a private hive? Get one which is populated and you have a lot of fun. I promise. And of course with not too much hacking problems. And as soon as the standalone is released, I hope we can play on publics WITHOUT those damn script kiddies.

DayZ will be a success. A lot of ppl will whine about the fact, that you can die and lose everything. And I hope it wont develop into the direction of casual-easy-mode! And they will get rid of those pesty script kiddies :) I am trusting in Rocket and his dev team and I will be happy to support them with my money. I will buy the game for sure.

I am one of these crazy guys who like to play on expert. But they are not so much liked, because of various instances: 1.) 3rd person is easymode for overwatching an area. You lie in the grass and can look around without being spotted. You can look over walls without showing yourself. 2.) No kill message: Did I hit him? Did I kill him? This is also easymode - especially for snipers. Did I kill my target in 1 mile away? 3.) No crosshair? OMG - then I have to use this ironsight! Nonono.... I want to have my counterstrike with Zeds! Today all games are made for casual players. (I am even wondering why perma death is still inside ;) ) Everything has to be on easy mode. That is sad, but I am really lone with my opinion. Even in my clan the majority refuses to play on expert servers. But that is gaming nowadays. "Gimme phat grafix and epic l00tz but do not made it 2 hard or I will quit" Sad, but this is the way things work out. If you want to sell a product you have to please the majority of the gamers and not the hardcore-freaks like me (and some others). I stay with DayZ for sure!

My Clan puts all L85 we find in Zombies. Then hide them. We have all the same opinion: Out of thermal sights in DayZ. Like already mentioned: People who want this kind of overpowered guns could just play another mod. Wasteland is a great example. But please, take it out of DayZ.

That is why I use .50cals - one hit and there is no combat logging. And even if they manage to ALT+F4, they will be dead on their next login. As soon as this technique is not longer useable, I will switch my .50 cal for a normal sniper rifle like the M24, DMR or if I get hands on a SVD camo.

Are there any informations about the rig specs? I will buy a new computer for the standalone - and it would be great if I would get some informations about the specs, so I have my new comp right before the release. Hope someone could help me - I searched the forum but sadly I haven't found anything reliable.

Just go play ArmA. There you can fight with all the weapons and you have your military simulation. But please stay away from DayZ. I think, you are also a guy who shoots someone with a double-barreled shotgun over 1 mile away with an AS50 and say: "He was armed and I am playing a military simulation." I think you do not understand this game.

I hope you will put this weapon out of the game! It is nothing more than a kind of wall hack. It would be a great thing to get rid of the L85! The thermal sight is too mighty!

Like it is stated above you should learn about the weak parts of vehicles. Chopper: Best to shoot the rotors. Or try to hit the pilot. Just spamming ammo is not the best tactic. I killed a chopper with two hits (AS50 + AS50 Nato ammo). How did the chopper kill you? Were you standing in open field without movement? Strange story to be honest - maybe you need some more practice (no offense or flame!).
