Shoot all un-armed bandits on sight.

Must of been a bad bandit getting caught in a building without a weapon. -
Are Choppers needed in DayZ?
sostronk replied to Jex =TE= (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Choppers are accessible to everyone, depending on what server your playing on. The problem is, admins have too much power. I could go into detail, but unless you were born yesterday or just started playing the game you know why. Choppers in the game isn't an issue. The games (current) design is. -
And this is why I don't bother with anything but PvP

Jump into a server I have been working hard to get gear on. Just playing casually doing loot runs into industrial spawns for mechanical loot and basic supplies. I fill up some tents and repair two vehicles. Next day I come in after a good nights sleep and a hard day at work. Tents empty. One vehicle gone. One vehicle crashed because apparently they were too retarded to drive. So 20 hours of hard work down the drain. No point in the effort when you get griefed whilst offline and no way to protect yourself. No point doing anything but hunting down and killing everyone I can find. Some of these tents/vehicles need to be stored away from the server whilst offline. Otherwise there is never going to be a point to this game beyond PvP. It is a major reason why players like myself play as bandits. Until then, there is no other point to the game. See you in Cherno and Elektro. -

ESP/Navigator will definitely be in the standalone. Ill bet my left testicle on that. Teleport maybe not, but probably. EDIT: The (actual) hackers found alot of income from this mod. They have honed in on it now. -

Maybe you should read the thread, I mostly only play on Private servers these days as Ive already stated. -
Ill be following both. Actually, right now Im window shopping. Ill buy DayZ and WarZ. Im going to get beta access to WarZ when it starts next week. I don't have big expectations for it. If its as bad as I think it will be, Ill be back fairly quickly to the mod. Unless WarZ somehow blows my mind and gets me addicted, Ill be buying DayZ. If it delivers I may drop the mod. It depends how good it is. Then there is Company of Heroes 2 which is being released very soon so its getting a bit tight. I only like to play one game at a time and I think Ill enjoy all 3 of these games, but know Ill only really play one. Decision time basically :/

I mostly play on private hives, including some of the whitelisted ones that I won't name, but Im sure you know the ones I am takling about. Even in the whitelisted ones, there are players clearly using navigator/ESP hacks and teleporting. These are the two main threats to tents. Ive had a few times where I have walked away from a full tent and returned 30 minutes later after one loot run and found the tent empty. And yet another person completely misses the point. This isn't about me. Its an experience everyone has. There is no point in working towards this stuff because its just going to be stolen/destroyed when you cannot protect it. There are reasons why there are so many bandits in this game. This is a major reason for it. People could occupy their time by completing these tasks like repairing vehicles, but theres no point. The current setup of tents and vehicles where you have to be online 24/7 to protect them just isn't going to cut it in standalone. I apologize, but Im going to say the W word. WarZ is implementing a system called "stronghold" where you can store stuff whilst your offline. It can be set to private or public. If its private players can only get access to this area if invited. If its public, anyone can access it. I really am hoping that this underground system that Rocket is talking about in DayZ will be the same. With more content that isn't griefed overnight players won't be so aggressive and KOS so often. Because there will be more worthwhile things to do than kill other players. -

I don't really care. Its limiting the gameplay. I want to branch out into things other than raping scrubs in this game. Turns out theres no point. Its easier to keeping my shit up by griefing others than it is to play nicely. I really don't see how people aren't seeing this. And really please stop giving me tips on how to hide tents. For real, Ive fucking placed them all over the map and lost them everywhere on the map. I didn't start playing this game yesterday. If Rocket doesn't implement a system in standalone where you don't have to be online 24 hours a day 7 days a week, all this game will ever be is bandits killing survivors. And yeah I went on a killing spree this afternoon. Had more fun doing that. Almost died once to a ghoster who logged after I killed his mate and then relogged while I was looting his mates body. One more hit and I was gone but I got that bitch and enjoyed it more than the 20 hours of loot farming to repair up vehicles on the weekend. -
72 days alive. Finally put down.
sostronk replied to Bandit Hunter's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Nah Im like 70 days played on a local clan server. You can log in and then let the timer run for eternity. Only scrubs used days played to measure anything. -
Hero Nation - Good or bad idea?
sostronk replied to Twixx (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Im yet to find a hero that is good at PvP. Go right ahead, hunt me down. -
I don't mind either tbh. The L85 loses power for utility. The NVGs, yeah Ill admit I get them alot, but its not a big deal if I don't have them. If you use road flares correctly and don't use chemlights, then your fine. I use road flares regularly at night. Players are going to do damage in Cherno and Elektro without them because thats were the scrubs go to die anyway. EDIT: Although I agree with what someone said about the AS50, I just don't think it fits in this game. Same with the m107. After using them and other sniper rifles quite a bit Ive come to realize how BS OP they really are.

Are players with Ghillies shoot on sight for you?
sostronk replied to MoOnKat's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I use ghillie suits to conceal my bandit skin. Your better off killing on site. -
On fully populated private hives its possible, as long as the admins are doing a good job of keeping the hackers out. I have a few private hives I play about 20-30 hours a week in and Im getting up close to these figures and Im also playing as a bandit and looking for fights.

Keep looking for trouble. With that experience you will eventually bring the trouble to anyone who wants to fight.
-
I had the same problem. I found joining an empty server and just not doing anything and let it update and it worked.

Seriously Im up over 100 kills without death. All of my firefights have been in the bush between 50m-500m. It seems like nobody knows how to fight in the bush. When you come upon someone, if you have been running for a while take cover. If you stop and fire right away your going to be lucky to get one hit on them because heavy breathing really messes up your aim, then your going to be in a bad position. I find trees to be the best in most cases, well because they are everywhere. When you take cover behind a tree do not lay down. Ive had a couple of guys get in cover behind a tree and lay down. The last guy I killed did this and his legs were off to the side so despite not being able to hit his head/torso he went down just as easily. Also had a few roll because they didn't know lean when you are prone is roll and you roll right out into the open (lol). As soon as you get in cover poke with lean, sometimes they take cover and then try to get in close and flank you straight away, if they do this finish them then. If they are smart enough to take cover and use suppressing fire then be sure to stay in cover until suppressive fire comes down. Dont always poke on the same side of the tree and vary between standing and kneeling as it becomes predictable and they can be waiting for you to re-poke in the same spot. Try not to use the pine trees with the large branches as cover. They cause you more problems than they cause your opponent. The bullets can still penetrate and you lose visibility. I only use these trees to block their visibility whilst changing position. The idea is not to panic. They can't kill you if they can't hit you. Most players shit a brick at this stage. They aren't used to players putting up a fight. Then they make a mistake and die. You can pretty much sit behind that tree forever. I have five steaks, three water bottles and 7 cans of coke. Terrain is another good one but its not as common. Whenever Im moving through the bush Im always looking for the best option if I run into someone. Trees are just alot easier and I find them 100% effective. Terrain can be flanked a bit easier, which sounds strange, but trees you can just move a bit to one side and you have completely adjusted to any flanking movement you couldn't stop. You can't do that with a hill. The last guy I fought came after me whilst I was leaving NWAF. He was smart enough to take cover behind a tree and made the mistake of laying down. Easily loot off a guy I didn't even want to fight. But he did better than most I come across. Just that one mistake of laying down. His legs were covered when I poked the left side of my tree but when I poked the right side I could just see the end of his legs. As it stands, laying down is just bad in most circumstances because the grass can stop bullets in their tracks. It can work in your favor, but its random luck. In this game you need clean kills because it can take time for damage to register. Anyways just some info on how I fight in the forest I think some people will find useful.

any change to get from -100000 to 0 humanity ?
sostronk replied to maxron123's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Private servers. Its really hard to break old habits though. I recently tried to do this and people came at me and I killed them back into the unfix-able figures. Bandit skin for lyfe I guess. -
Making DayZ harder (less bandits?)
sostronk replied to Snablas's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
TBH I probably do kill alot of fresh spawns. I do hunt players in Cherno and Elektro. But both fresh spawns and non fresh spawns look identical to me. They don't have any specific skin or other distinguishing features that set them apart from each other. I don't go up to them and ask them if they have been alive long enough to kill them or should I come back in an hour and kill them then. But if your dieing as a fresh spawn its pretty clear that your not good at this game. It is really easy to avoid people in this game. Its also really easy to avoid Cherno and Elektro, yet everyone hangs out there like its the only place to be. So I come hang with them and shoot them for the beans. I am pretty disappointed when they don't have anything to loot as well. I mean Ive invested alot of time tracking down and finding players so its a bit unfortunate when I come across guys with no loot who just got into the game and haven't invested any time in it yet and thus wasted my time and ammo. Problem is there aren't alot of people who travel North these days. I hang around Stary and NWAF and other high value military spawns and rarely see anyone. So I go south to Cherno and Elektro and kill people there. Most of them have gear I can use, some of them don't. -
The current stats are completely contradictory to my experience. Whenever I stumble upon someone I usually have between 1-3 seconds before they start spraying bullets everywhere whilst running in my direction. It could be the bandit skin, but pretty sure thats what happened before I became a bandit as well.

"Oh, it's night. Guess I'd better leave"

Yeah im going to spend my gaming hours walking 4km to the nearest town with a "yellow gun". And who spawns these days, I haven't done that for months. -
Making DayZ harder (less bandits?)
sostronk replied to Snablas's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You haven't invested alot of time into the game as a fresh spawn. Also, once your good at the game, you won't get killed as a fresh spawn. wow harden the fuck up and quit crying. Its a game. Get good at, get used to being owned by players that are better than you or leave. -
Most of the time Im a bandit. Sometimes I am just trying to complete some tasks (like finding a car wheel) and in these cases I try to avoid players. But they seem to chase you down no matter so Ill kill those players. If I have alot of ammo Ill straight up run to the most populated place I can find (AKA Cherno, Elektro) and kill everyone I see.
