Afaik "Save old camping tent" should work after death. Although the option of "Pack up Camping Tent" is no longer available when you die. Also note, it was rumored many moons ago that Tents "should" dissapeer 2 days after the owning character dies. But as of recent testing the tents do stay longer, if not indefinately.

Hi Omaran, Not sure about changing names, i always thought the way you decsribed doing it would actually work. Although never tried it myself. I usually just press alt+enter and it switches between windowed and full screen mode.

Similer thing happend to me hallgraeme when I treid to give some gear to one of my friends that had never played before. I found a PDW aka UZI 9mm and 3 mags but i had already got an M9 SD so I saved the UZI for my mate. When the time came to actually give him the UZI and mags they ended up vanishing during the trade. All the times before when I have swapped gear between experienced friends nothing ever vanished. Conclusion - The gear/items menu is tricky for new players. Some will just clickity click on all sorts hoping to get the desired effect but one wrong click and poof , the item can magically dissapeer. I think we gotta make sure to show the above Video guides from kreaol to our noob mates before doing any kind of swapping of gear lol

Hacked weapons should turn into a Makarov the next time an inventory database sweep is done. I can't find the thread where Rocket stated it now. Also not sure how often they do an inventory database sweep. Every few days maybe ?

You wouldn't believe just how unsafe your tents are and how easy it is to spot them from a distance, even if you hide them in the middle of the woods in the middle of nowhere. There is dedicated teams of "Tent Hunters" If your Items actually stay in your tent for more than 2 days in a row i would consider that lucky.

Im not sure if that is the new tone mapping they brought out with one of the Arma2 beta's. When the Sun is low on the horizon and you look directly at it the surrounding area's get darker. If you look away from the Sun then all the colours go back to normal. ( thats what is happening in nebu's pics ) Its kind of like wearing reactive lens glass's. People were crying out for a feature like this in BF3 when the sun used to blind you. Although i think Arma's is a little too much, it goes too dark.

So, your steam account got hacked and the hackers played dayz on your account. You got your account back but THEY used hacks and now your account has a global ban ? Or is it your friends account your talking about ? But either way , your Russian and you / your friend definatly did not hack. ok Good luck.

Thats pretty much how i play Torothin. Apart from the blood bags. I don't even let my friends team up with me when i go on missions. Although , i will chat to them around the camp, but thats about it. edit - spelling

I know this affects a few people, but the only time low FPS has affected me is when i play on servers that are not updated properly. Grizzly20 , are you running the beta version of Arma2 and are you also ONLY joining servers that are also running the beta server side ? If you answer this question with "what is the beta and how do i get it" then i think thats your problem. I would love to help but its a lot to type up and its something that can easily be found on the forums already. Every time i look at the server list i see several of these DayZ servers that limit the amount of players to only a few and its also locked. All it would take is ONE Dev to check the server list for 5mins, make a note of which servers are like this and then just check back an hour later to see if that server is still in the same situation, and its as plain as day. I've seen the same server set up with 3 players on it , locked, for 3 days in a row !

Kreaol , if the DayZGuidez is your channel then excellent work dude ! I learned all this stuff the hard way and really wished there was a channel like that when i first started. Keep it up , ill be posting links from that channel for the newer players. A "How to use your inventory" would be awesome for alot of people when they first start. :cool:

I too prefer 3rd person for general running around and looting. But when im actually going to shoot something or someone i goto 1st person mode for the accuracy. So there is a valid use for both modes. But to take 3rd person away they would have to give us a slider bar to change the FOV ( i know you can do it in cfg file but its not user friendly for everyone ) and make our POV higher up ! In other 1st person games your Eyes view point is actually right on top of your head. It seems like in Arma your eyes viewpoint is on your chest.

Either One Global server like Eve's Tranquility ( would require monthly sub to keep running though ) OR When you log out, you can log back into the same server and respawn at the same spot you logged out in. BUT If you join a different server your old logout position is reset and upon entering the new server you will spawn at a new character spawn point - the beach ! EDIT - Rabbican mentioned it before me ... but NOT the fresh char idea. My idea is you would still have all your gear, its just your spawn location is reset to the beach if joining a diff server.
