Xbox 360 Xmapper Presets Created for Day-Z

Who says you can't use both? I prefer the controller for everything except aiming.

    Pure Sandbox? Pure Schmandbox!

All that needs to happen, is for us to be able to see other players histories. People are pretty much anonymous now. You log in, you see a bunch of random names, you try to kill them before they kill you. The argument has been made that you don't get to see a big shiny nametag over someones head in real life, but I am not suggesting that. What I am saying, is even though my character has died many horrible times, it is still me. And over time, after interacting with people i would gain a reputation whether I like it or not. This word would travel in hushed tones throughout the survival world, and people would know of my deeds whether or not they've met me before. People's records should be able to be discovered if not plainly listed in some database somewhere. It's not caveman times, the same technology is available, it's just totally inaccessible.
  3. But the blood type thing is cool. It would open up opportunity for trade.

    Buttstroke?

This game DEFINITELY needs more melee options. As long as the buttstroke isn't as effective as it is in L4D (or L4D2 even). I mean, everyone knows they want a katana. And these zombies aren't superhuman. They are just infected with a virus that somehow makes their hearing, sense of smell, and stamina go up. Sort of like the resident evil zombies except faster.

    Trail of Corpses

Yeah there isn't a logical realistic explanation for uninfected corpses turning into zombies in the universe of infected human type zombies as opposed to supernatural zombies. The trail of corpses idea sort of has some sense of fitting in the dayZ universe as it adds a level of hard to one of the upper tiers of gameplay. People want more challenge after getting kitted out, this will provide that, as well as take some pressure off of newer/less skilled players while they are learning the mechanics through PVE. If the trail of corpses isn't taken cared of by killing zombies, other players will become more cautious when they see a zombie away from a known spawn point. Sure the zombies probably should spawn near the player corpses, but what fun would that be?

    Trail of Corpses

People complain that after gearing up, there's nothing to do but kill other players. People complain that KoS is ruining their enjoyment of the simulation. People argue that in a real zombie apocalypse, people would probably be killing many more zombies than players. Well, I feel that this mechanic may have a solution to all these problems. The Trail of Corpses After killing fresh humans, the infected smell the bodies and follow the trail of corpses to their creators. After killing 2 players, 1 zombie will spawn every 15 minutes within 400m of the murderer. After killing 4 players, the 1 zombie spawns within 400m of the murderer, and one spawns at 375m. After 8, the 3rd zombie spawns at 350m, and so on to 100m. Of course, these numbers may need to be tweaked for balance. To remove the effects of the Trail of Corpses, the murderer must kill twice as many (Non trail of corpse?) zombies as players that he killed to cause the effect. The bodies of the infected mask the odor of the Trail of Corpses. This serves a dual purpose. Making a high murder count mean more than just being a dick, and also, you see a herd of infected in the middle of nowhere? Trail of Corpses. Better than a bandit skin.
  7. It's just like eve. Except here, there's no relatively safe area. all the rules are the same everywhere. There's no way to communicate with people who are looking for groups except the forums. This game is very metagame heavy, especially right now while bugs are being worked out with all the exploits. Like Eve, you have carebears who think the PVE is the point of the game, and PVP that happens is accidental. You have the gankers, who will never take a fair fight, are only killing you for the loot, or since apparently high end loot isnt that rare in this game, the little kill counter in the top corner. You have solo players, who either can't understand why 1 isnt greater than 10, or accept the challenge, and die a lot, but have fun bettering themselves. All the former categories of players are honest. Then you have the dispicable. There's two types of these. The cheaters. Well they cheat. Script kiddies who somehow enjoy taking the fun out of the game for themselves, and others. Doesn't make sense to me at all. Good thing this is at least against the rules so that they can be removed as much as possible. Then there's the liars. This is allowed, however frustrating it may be. These things have never happened to me in this game yet, but I can imagine the anger. Disarming a stranger with "friendly" then betraying them? Wheres the skill in that? What makes it fun? These are akin to Awoxers and corp thieves in eve. Except that in Eve, shit's usually personal. Here, the anonymity fucks it up. I can't hunt down someone for sniping me if i dont know his name. There's no means of retribution. Even if I find out his name, i have to server hop to find them. According to the mechanics of the metagame, being an asshole is pretty much the safest way to go. Long range guns, and no friends made inside game to backstab you. Only clanmates or guild members from other games can possibly be trusted. Even then, if this game evolves enough in the wrong direction, your loot may become more valuable than your friendship.
