  1. you mean accommodate the incompetent , meh your right it is a fact of life unfortunately . as long as they dont come after my guns with an anger management report ! some cant control their thoughts , others cant control their mouth , if you cant control your actions theres a problem , usually diagnosed as acute lead deficiency .

    Melee combat

    directional swings using W,A,S,D, with mouse 1 & 2 and block or dodge using Q & E . id like to see mouse 1 & mouse 2 as left punch , right punch . but would negate zoom in hand to hand combat ? these mechanics were used in the riddick games , & i would not agree with the take down combos from that game ! but would like to use a knife more effectively . get a little stabby some times !
  3. love it ! :beans: if this is not slated to be in the game already i believe something very very similar will be . will bet anyone $ 5,000 dollars .. $ 5,000 dollars ... and some video tapes that i need to return :| coincidentally do you have any knowledge in regards to hypothermia ? or see it as a relevant aspect of the game ? i ask this in relation to your last post , as i am working on a right up concerning shelter , among other things . game play suggests a drop in temperature at night which should justify appropriate clothing & or shelter , depending on health state . consequently bringing the environment into play regarding cold weather , rain & sickness , which would denote prevention & treatment , ie. the medical system . know its in the mod but my thinking is more on a need for shelter . as weather , shelter & sickness coincide with each other & are prevalent topics in survival cycles . btw. know the screens are for concept but would hope to see all this executed in first person . that would be truly great mon ! you forgot to wash your hands ... ?

PLEASE ! do not take this out of context this is not who i am merely a subtext of what you will encounter . learn the signs , react to the flagged behavior . and you will never have to rely on a mechanism or feature to tell you if some one is trustworthy . now dont you feel like you can trust me ..... meh dosent work every time .
  5. im with you on this one & seams to be a few others . epoch & origins are great in there own right , but disagree with their style of base building in relation to SA . !! IMO - pre existing buildings are the only logical way to go as far as base building ( regarding flow & long term stability ) - IMO !! i think the bigger question is shelter ? will it serve a purpose or function ? will the elements play a role in survival ? if no then a base is cool & for storage . if yes ... may give tents more of a purpose rather than a bunch of loot wrapped in a tarp . just my 2 cents .

    loved that movie . have you seen the sequel ? not as good , but ... i want a gorilla suit , or elvis suit .... duck & cover Elvis has an AK +) .... must come with the hair ! or a wolf dressed in a sheep suit . i understand this is all irrelevant to the game but odds & ends add diverse behavior . i would love to wear my master replica stormtrooper helmet . GD copyrights .

  11. how complex are you all willing to go in regards to traps ? many stipulations & limits to calculat . unfinished ATM but will be posting a trap suggestion thread soon . this trap is also included in my draft . at least the ax part .

    Sewers

    not to mention a formidable base if spanned & networked correctly , with many entrances & exits along with maintenance rooms & service tunnels . big enuf to get lost in or justify a sewer map . dont forget some sures can be accessed by ducts under bridges & docks or large pipes leading to the ocean , requiring you to hold your breath . i especially like the idea of connecting Cherno & Electro . a dilapidated subway system would be nice but not conducive to the loyalty of the map .
  14. deep NW down the back side of a hill had a camp site for many months . very hard to get to without transportation .
  15. if im not mistaken the game is more about options & deterrents rather than absolutes . if it did come down to a ban for some countries i would say no , but i do like the option ! as far as food is concerned it is readily abundant at the moment . this may be due to early testing or the fact that hunting has not been implemented yet . all & all we dont know what will change later down the road , as it has been stated "its in alpha" . early alpha at that . canned food may become scarce , animal populations dwindle with over hunting . as well as not managing the predator populations . a justification to cannibalism is mute . think it falls more to the legality of countries gaming laws . i would hate to see an entire market excluded due to a feature ! as im sure would the sales department .
  16. please elaborate ? as i seem to remember something similar in a dev blog in regards to manipulating corpses or even dragging the wounded ? haha think Postal 2 was the spawn of all this concern . would love to see those gibs in DayZ , but alas we must be vigilant in our efforts to accommodate the incompetent & mitigating the spread of cranial rectal inversion .

    Sleeper zombies

    with this each building / environment can have a story of its own , like a murder scene . a chewed on static corpses behind a flipped over desk in the high rise apartments with a shotgun lying at his side in a puddle of blood & two dead zombies in the hallway . his last stand . a torn apart couple sprawled out in a bed . had no idea what was going on . a starved corpses slumped up against a tree in the woods . almost got away . a suicide corpses in the back of the grocery store with a handgun at his side , or dangling from a noose ( rope ) with a knocked over stool below him . just cant take it any more .

    Sleeper zombies

    i like both ideas in regards to idle zombies lying in wait & 'static' / 'inert' corpses littering the landscape . 'most' idle zombies should be indistinguishable to the static corpses using the same sets of clothing & way the body is positioned within the environment as to throw off the player . might even say the inert Z's dont become active until a player breaches a threshold of 5 to 10 meters from said zombie . or later , employing a shot check on all corpses being approached , just to be safe . would also be nice if both sets ( idle Z's & inert corpses ) were set to a sort of randomizer relocating them on each server restart so players dont get comfortable with " dont worry about that one its always there " propped up against a building or car slumped over a table in a chair laying down at top of stairs sitting in side of a shed to one side of the door lying in a bed or locked in the prison cell

    First Person Visible Hats

    i like it , not all caps or helmets would be visible . thought there was some discussion on this in a dev vid as far as obstructing vision with some helmets & masks , if that is the case ball caps would not be that far off & a good addition . wouldnt it be the same as the glove models ? concerning the ball caps & helmets . vision in gas masks & masks in general might be more of an undertaking , not to mention changing the sound of characters breath & hearing in some helmets . would definitely add to the emersion tho . some one also suggested the glasses working but id stay away from that as there is such a thing as overkill !

    Carry The Wounded

    i agree with dragging the wounded or deceased , but thought there was some sort of stipulation with German gaming laws that bodies were not to be manipulated ?
  21. if they respond to verbal commands promptly there survivability increases by 25% ..... from 0 .
  22. i liked your differentiation of cading existing buildings & constructing a new building . im only for cading existing , everything else should be packable like tents , campers or trailers . agree with a logout timer of 30 sec & log in wait of 5 min on "3rd server" , should deter ghosting along with hopping . all imo of course .

    Holsters

    IWB holsters - inside the waistband , for concealed carry under T shirt . at the moment there is no point to holsters if you can just hot swap items "in" your backpack from the hot bar . may not be popular but think items in backpack should "not " go to the hot bar without stopping to open bag . if this changes holsters & sheaths will play a big role , along with how you go about organizing your gear to include mags ! like to see gun belts & or battle belts for this reason .
