I have registered on the DayZ feedback tracker!
Chronos Blackburn posted a topic in General Discussion
I just feel like I'm actually contributing now, and I felt like sharing. :3 [Quick Question:] Are the topics with the most votes the most important in the Dev's eyes? -

I have registered on the DayZ feedback tracker!
Chronos Blackburn replied to Chronos Blackburn's topic in General Discussion
I just had a great idea! Instead of people randomly complaining through threads, I think EVERYONE should register on the feedback tracker. I just noticed that each topic only had a couple hundred votes each, and I know there are more than a few hundred people in the Pre-Alpha. All should join: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/154048-bug-reports/ -
Switching servers kills you?
Chronos Blackburn replied to Chronos Blackburn's topic in General Discussion
Yea I will, I was just wondering if anyone else had had this problem. Can anyone stitch servers at all? -
do people actually want a complicated medical system?
Chronos Blackburn replied to dgeesio's topic in General Discussion
If you don't want a complicated medical system play the mod or BF4, if you want to play DayZ, play DayZ. The medical system is not hard to understand, It is easily mastered, I have never died due to illness, its way to easy to keep your survivor alive if you use common sense. -

Switching servers kills you?
Chronos Blackburn replied to Chronos Blackburn's topic in General Discussion
Yes, I have played since the wipe. It was not the wipe. -
My character got sick, I cleaned my wounds, took antibiotics, ate a lot, drank a lot, then my character got better. After the sickness went away, I drank as much as I could, and ate as much as I could but my screen is still grey. Is there something that I'm missing to get my health back up? I thought having full food and water would help you regenerate health back.

1. You have to clean your wounds with either; disinfectant wipes or Alcohol - If your character groans, he has wounds that need cleaned. 2. Charcoal (spelled wrong) pills are what you take when you're going to vomit - If you see red letters that say "you're going to vomit" you have about 30 seconds to take these pills or go unconscious. 3. Antibiotics (two types (that I know of); Broad Spectrum Antibiotics, and the kind in a bottle that you have to inject with a syringe) are what you take when you get sick. - You are sick if at the top right of your inventory picture it says "sick" 3.2 antibiotics are NOT an INSTANT FIX, you have to not strain yourself, and you have to drink water, LOTS of water, and eat lots of food. Never let your person be hungry or thirsty. 4. If you fall and your guy grumbles and complains, he has an injury, if you don't clean the wound you will get sick, you must also bandage yourself or you will just die. (refer to notes 3, and 3.3 for more info) 5. Taking Vitamins helps you not get sick 6. If your buddy is unconscious, use a saline bag to revive him. 7. You have to take blood from someone and put it in a bloodbag to use it. -Must know their blood type and make sure it is compatible with the person you are giving that blood to. 8. If you are tired and need to nap, you need to eat more food (Alpha) 9. You need a special rail on your M4 to attach flashlights etc... 10. Use a can opener or short bayonet to open canned food. 11. STERILIZE BAG BEFORE YOU TAKE OR GIVE BLOOD with disinfecting spray IMPORTANT: This is only a guess, but I'm pretty sure its correct. If you're guy ever says he is "thirsty" or "hungry", its not good. By the time those messages start popping up your; Hydration/Energy/Health are already at 50%, you have to over eat, and over drink to keep yourself healthy, if you see any messages at all your guy is unhealthy, and more easily injured or more easily becomes ill. This is not the DayZ mod, so you can not run everywhere, or you get the messages "I feel faint, my head throbs, I feel unsteady" and with those messages, you get hungrier and thirstier easier, and you can get injured and get illness easier. STOP RUNNING EVERYWHERE, learn to walk... or at least take breaks. Moral of the story, Over eat, over drink, and stop trying to jog everywhere, learn to double tap shift and walk... or your going to die. Edit: Proof: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zq4Tv6iAr3Q

So many beans! I will survive! -
Yea, I just realized today that people had M4's in balota. I was wondering where they got them.

This is not a complete tour, just some in-game unedited footage of us finding Rifty, enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBu1j9z4UWo&feature=youtu.be (also, I dont know how to make the video pop up in the forums without the link, how do people post video's?)
-
Well, I have not run into anyone outside of Whiskey Company with gear like ours, not sure if we just got lucky but 90% of the people we meet have an Axe and a motor cycle helmet. To be fair we have not stopped playing since the game released, I only stop to post on the forums, eat, drink, use the bathroom and sleep for 2 hours each night. Gotta utilize that army training somehow xD

Yea, if you have an abundance of food you can run, but If you don't have alot of food and water it is a good idea to walk. I noticed it makes the game play more realistic. -
I was walking towards the NEAF, and I noticed something I had never seen before. I had made that walk a million times, but I did not recognize these rail road tracks. I know a lot of new things have been added, but adding more rail road kinda seemed... odd. Is their going to be a working train in the DayZ standalone, Rocket?
-
Not sure if anyone figured this out, but I walked all around the coast, electro and cherno reviving fresh spawns that were just laying there yelling for help. Use a saline bag, found in Med packs.

first kills in Standalone (they made me do it!).
Chronos Blackburn replied to Dr Octagon's topic in Gallery
That was pretty funny. -
Oh yes, and very intricate. Two of my clannies got lost in there, that is why they were not in the picture, they were still trying to figure out how to get out of the boat. There is alot of loot spawns in there as well.

I was right, someone just added a video proving my theory https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zq4Tv6iAr3Q -
Myself and the rest of Whiskey Company, (about 6 guys) all geared up after about the first couple of hours of game launch. We knew we had to get away from Electro and Cherno quickly to get past the rush, we did have 1 causality, due to sickness, but through that 1 death we have figured out the Medical system, and the Nutrition system pretty extensively. There are a lot of aspects to the Medical and Nutrition system, but that is for another thread. First thing we did was make our way north up the coast to find that ship, after that we headed to the NEAF, then to Starry, then to the NWAF. After we left Electro we have not run into a single survivor, not 1 person. The entire time we have focused on being in high pop servers. Where is everyone?

A video guide on DayZ's new hunger and thirst mechanics

I had a theory about that yesterday, I'm glad to see someone else support my claim.
