US897 I'm pretty sure Also I know it probably wasn't what it was intended for, but It gave me a good idea that I think ill try next time I hit up NW Airstrip. I generally play on fairly low population server with friends, so mostly I don't run into many other survivors. And I try to befriend those I do find, and usually part ways if they want to try to kill me.

It is what is wrong with the game, but it isn't failing. Id love to help players or group up with other players, but they will shoot you in the back the second you hand them a gun or get some good loot. I don't mind being killed by bandits, I did when I first started, but now not so much. I like having firefights and all that, but I don't really WANT people shooting at me. I'll defend my "Return fire only" policy to the death (or more so: deaths) and I warn anyone I see to part ways with me when I do see them. Plus my friend is usually 1000+ meters away outside the city with a 50 cal covering my position, so even if I die Ill get my stuff back one way or another. Though honestly I die more in this mod by ramping bikes off mountains or falling off buildings than I do players or zombies.

The only solution I have found to these problems are playing with graphics settings Usually: Vsync on/off > video memory to low > textures to low > video memory to default > video memory to very high > textures to very high > relog > restart client. Basically all you are trying to do with that though is flush your video memory, I'm sure there is a way to do it in game though.

Everyone does it because everyone does it. Id never shoot an unarmed player, but pretty much everyone with a gun is going to try and shoot you. I don't mind losing gear (because I can survive without M4s and GPS) and I like firefights in DayZ, they are a ton of fun. I love helping players, and id gladly play with newbies and help them out, but as soon as you give most people a gun they are going to shoot you in the back and take what you have.
