Since body temperature is now critical vital stat, and since Rocket will be introducing new skins/clothes, it would sound appealing that different clothes would have other merits other than aesthetics. For instance, a skin that features a jacket would help reduce heat loss by so and so percentage. Another piece of garment would insulate you from the rain and keep you dry... and so on.

I just think respawn time of zombies after they've been killed needs to be extended a "little" so that there's actually a benefit of killing them. Five minutes is a very, very generous time in my opinion.

I totally agree. I was in the very same situation. I completely lost the zombies running after me and changed direction just in case. After a few minutes, they magically homed onto my new concealed location. It just doesn't make any sense. Once a zombie follows you, you either kill it, or swim away from it. Other than that it is impossible to shake them off your tail!

Bandits don't get punished, Survivors do...
leblackdragon posted a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Rocket (the dev) wants to go for ultra realism, and that you should solve problems faced like you would in real life, he lost grasp of the fact that this is a video game medium he's using. Meaning, you'll attract all the gun ho CoD players without a care in the world for fellow humans. There's no penalty for immoral acts in this game, so they aren't punished AT ALL for being bandits now. While decent survivors ARE punished for being moral. ... and the biggest fault (IMFO) to Rocket's broken vision is... you can't read people online. Their body language, their tone of voice, their faces... while they, at all time, are reading the chat log and abusing it. The MOD is not heavily sided, IT'S FULLY sided for Bandits. Which I consider makes it broken now. Rocket may have good intentions, but he isn't introducing any real counter balance to Bandits. Introduce some small animation difference to their walk. Add a very subtle deviation to how they hold weapons. Change their faces ever so slightly so that it could only be recognized real close. Flip side, deny bandits access to the chat log or something. Don't get me wrong, I'm fully for realism. You don't want forced bandit skins. Fine! Give me what I use in real life to help make a decision on someone. Body language and facial expressions. Edit: Other suggestion would be to give bandits a higher metabolism. Let them need to eat and drink sooner forcing them to scavenge more. Another suggestion by someone in this thread was not to increase punishment, but in add rewards for humanity acts and grouping together. Problem is Bandits can be found acting in groups, so they too might benefit for these bonuses... unless they are denied them because of their status. -
How long before they despawn?

But it would really be nice if they would tire after awhile. Hard to imagine a zombie that hasn't fed or washed its mouth in ages being able to run so well for an infinite amount of time. These zombie trains are silly. Or breaking line of sight and laying low would result in zombies running past you.

Totally agree! In real-life zombies don't that fast!... Honest!

It's cold and raining... where's my jacket?

Exactly! I too read they will be adding skins for you to wear as random loot. So I thought it would be really nice to give these skins more value by making them real world objects that affect your player in more way than one instead of just being pretty things to wear. -

Why is coding problematic? How did they get those skins into DayZ then? (survivors, bandits, Z's). If it really is an issue, just change the color texture. Problem solved! -

Well, if DayZ has shown me something... is that the bandwagon habit is alive and well. People still don't fully comprehend the meaning of "balance", and still use their own personal experiences as the yard stick. I have to remind myself it's just an alpha with a lot of new folks here from the Internet. -
That's overkill. You only need half the resolution since your original captures aren't the best of quality... unless you plan to overly it with something better?

^Childish idiot with no grasp of the meaning of consequences or responsibility. Listen kid, if you have real life issues, go and solve them instead of going on the Internet. lol! Pathetic. -

Amazing just how defensive, and clueless people are here... childish even. To the reasonable people, he took the bandit skin away, and no the only way to know a bandit is to get shot and killed first. This mod offers no visual or audio clues to tell the nature of a person... like one would in real life. Being a bandit is the only was to go with all the advantage. Forming a group requires trail and error with each error meaning a lot of wasted time and a death. To the pro bandits and real-life Sherlock Holmes posting here, thank you. You posted your opinion (some in a rude way). No need to post here anymore. -

Some of the folks replying here are so incredibly defensive about a bandit mechanic in an alpha mod to the point of being disrespectful. Guess they're enjoying this easy streak too much. To those replying with respect and manners, thank you for contributing to the discussion. I'll say it again, Bandits have it too easy. In real life (this game is a brutally realistic simulator, isn't it?) you get an uneasy gut feeling if someone has bad intentions. It's read from how that person talks, looks, moves... and this game has none of that. -
