  1. It might be that you're not waiting long enough, but I doubt it... I've had servers load after like five or ten minutes, much longer than I would normally wait, but was busy with something on my phone etc.
  2. Hysterics

How to use dmr with nvg?

    What's a Lingor?
  3. Ffs finally someone honest about it rather than a fanboy blindly trying to praise their heroes. Takes me 3-5 servers as well, and I give them at least three - five minutes each because I've seen servers load after five minutes before and I'd like to avoid being teleported at all costs. One last thing; I don't combat log, but do you morons complaining about combat logging SERIOUSLY think this will change anything? I've seen it listed as a reason some people like this change, well guess what, the pansies combat logging would be muchhhh happier with being teleported than being dead. It won't change anything, maybe 10% of combat loggers, at best, will decide that they would rather start fresh than on the coast.... So yeah. The only thing this realllllly fixes is people switching between servers for loot, and honestly, as many many people on these forums say constantly, DON'T GET ATTACHED TO LOOT. So if loot isn't a big deal, why are we fucking punishing other legit players who are avoiding hackers? Just frustrating and not a lot of logic imo.
  4. You know what, good for you! I had a home server, I've actually had several home servers, and now I've also lost serveral vehicles because said home servers cease to exist! Thanks though tips, clearly you know what's up. This is actually another quality piece of bull crap lol. First of all, when you install Day Z they tell you to use Six Launcher. It's posted all over this fucking shit website, everywhere. Yet SixLauncher won't properly update half the time, and is the reason I wasted about six hours back when I was first posting in this thread. SixLauncher should be removed from this website, and Day Z Commander should be listed. It's many many times better, cleaner presentation, incredibly easy and logical updating options, and it actually refreshes the server list properly. So quit it with the elitist attitude about updating properly because this ridiculous website is at fault, people shouldn't have to sift through pages upon pages of random threads in order to find out that the software the mod developer told you to use to update doesn't fucking work properly. Thanks. Also I never had any issues updating after I switched to Day Z commander. Also something at least a few of you will find amusing; After being teleported to the coast at least five or six times due to complete and utter bullshit, I started to realize that alright, fine, If I ever get hackers screwing with me I have to take a 10-15 minute break from the game unless I want the fucking server nazi's teleporting me. Super! First I get teleported by the hackers, then I get teleported by the servers for trying to avoid the hackers! Really, premo system you fools have going here. So after having it effect me negatively like half a dozen times, I'm running through a town inland a bit, middle of town I get hit once by a zombie, I was just over 10k blood, the ONE hit broke my leg, woot! so I fall down obviously, and after two or three more hits I go unconscious. Well guess what the fuck I did, I logged out, used Day Z commander to find a server with an outdated version type, and I logged in and out of it three times then went back to the other server and there you go I was teleported to safety, albeit still unconcious and bleeding, saved my life. I can't even begin to explain how this pissed me off, because most of you wouldn't believe me anyway. I don't like abusing game mechanics, but this shit had me so angry, I got sniped on the coast after being teleported there for trying to avoid hackers, then my first life after all that where I'm actually doing good and some random BS with my leg breaking from a zombie hit at near full blood, and I was like you know what, fuck this, I died twice due to this error, so this time I'm using it to save my life. So thank you for fucking us legit players, and actually making us so bitter that we abuse game mechanics. Keep frustrating your player base and see where it gets you, as I've said plenty of times here; no wonder there's so many fucking hackers. As for the being teleported crap, all you have to do is wait 10-15 minutes and you'll be fine, that and avoid outdated servers. But there's not a lot more frustrating than being forced to take a break from your gaming due to hackers, and that's exactly what's happening. I can't play on high population servers anymore, give them twenty minutes and a hacker pops in. I'm just sick of it. I can't find a 'home' server, I thought I found a good one the other day but it has ceased to exist, and I keep running into hackers. Very rarely can I just chill and enjoy this game, and personally I work full time, I don't get a lot of free time, a couple hours here and there, so when it takes 20 minutes to find a decent server, and I get to play for maybe twenty minutes before a hacker comes and fucks things up, then I have to take a 10-15 minute break before spending another twenty minutes finding yet another server............. Yeah. Pretty much ready to quit playing.

    Nice deathmatch you got there

That's what really gets me about War Z, Original idea's are hard to come by these days, but C'mon, a fucking name, for a zombie apocalypse game, is NOT hard to make unique or original. Instead they copy DayZ in pretty much every way shape and form they can. And your bit at the end is perfect. Clearly the OP hasn't had much experience with desparate people irl. It's surprising what people are capable of doing RIGHT NOW in this day and age for a few bucks. Throw in an apocolypse, and people eating one another, FUCK that Jazz. Sorry but If Zombies do ever walk the earth, don't get anywhere fucking near me unless you're close friends or family. :)
  6. Hysterics

    Nice deathmatch you got there

Also this is an effing apocalypse survival game, you wouldn't ever run up to some random dude with an assault rifle irl and be like 'sup bro can I lyk follow u' so why would you do it online, where people are way more likely to be douches? Sure sure, in a perfect world, yadda yadda... Just encourage real life friends to play, that's what I did, have a group of five or six people now. Of course finding a server that's stable and reliable, that's another story, but heyyyy... Yeah I just found my first vehicle the other day, was so stoked about it sent a message to my buddy on facebook detailing everything. So I log in today, BAM server is dead. Yeah, that's something you should be bitching about, not people Pvping... lol... The continuity of this game makes me want to scratch my eyes out at times. Such a fucking amazing concept for a game, but continuity.... Major issue. ( Of course we all have something to bitch about with DayZ, just think complaining about Pvp is kinda silly. )

    Nice deathmatch you got there

Yes it would be wrong, and I hate that people keep bringing it up here. Honestly, they haven't shown ANYTHING except a few photoshopped pictures. They're NOT screenshots. I've never seen a "game" with so little proof of there actually being any existance of said game start to accept pre-orders. No release date, nothing to show for actual game progress, they're simply and blatently ripping off Day Z and using these forums as a way to hype their "product". Stop advertising for a fucking game that doesn't even fucking exist, and may not ever exist. And honestly, the people who stick with Day Z instead of running to the next flavor of the month, THOSE are going to be the mature, chill people. So enjoy... Also I wouldn't be so harsh about this except that I have half a mind to just call War Z a fucking scam and hoax. Never heard of the company that's making it, never seen a screenshot of actual game footage, never seen a video, never seen anything at all about it other than their shoddy little website that simply shows photoshopped pictures of what appears to be something identical to Day Z, so have some fucking respect and don't advertise here.
  8. Was playing in a server for a couple hours, then all of a sudden noticed four people get kicked by BattleEye, then I was kicked, for #98, my room mate trying to play keeps getting kicked for both 90 and 98... What the heck?
  9. Some of us enjoy doing other things, such as play with our friends, and avoid being neutered by hacker script kiddies. Although I'll say that the scenery in this game is pretty awesome, and the sky when turning from night to day is brilliant... lol.
  10. Those are what I call the 'friendly' hackers. The ones that don't blatently grief people with ridiculous bs, but are cheating none the less. Hey I'm stoned too man, but that doesn't stop me from getting hacked. What are you smoking? I wants me some of that.
  11. Sorry but I'm not here for shits and giggles. I'm here complaining about an issue that's wasting my god damn time constantly and making this game nearly impossible to play with friends. I don't feel like wasting yet more of my fucking time by making my posts look prim and proper for you. Do you even have a valid contribution to this thread anymore, because quite frankly I'd rather read one person quoting and responding to four legitimate posts with four legitimate responses over four separate posts than read you spamming the thread with absolutely no input other than to try and be a control freak. I mean hey, I've heard that it's a great idea to provoke people who are already upset. It's been known to settle grievances in many cultures.... Right.... If you don't have anything useful to say, don't say it. No wonder you have over 700 posts.
  12. It's cute that your entire post is pretty much an assumption... Meanwhile the majority of posts in this thread detail the numerous reasons ( Which you conveniently ignore ) that server hopping occurs legitimately. There are dozens of real decent reasons to hop servers, most of them due to other glitches and issues in the game that ACTUALLY need to be fixed, such as hackers, graphical errors, and then simply wanting to play with friends... Also I'm pretty sure your assumption that some sort of software is tracking and deciding whether people are being legitimate or not is pretty much complete trash. I've seen no official mention of it anywhere, and if a developer spent the time figuring out the coding for it, they would damn well announce it and be proud of it. But also because I have been on the same server for the past 12 hours since I heard that it was due to 'server hopping' and so far, with just logging into the same server, I've been ported to the coast twice. That's without getting stuck at loading and alt f4ing or any of that business. Also that's with logging in about eight or nine times over two six hour gaming sessions. Sometimes I need to log out due to important phone calls, cooking, taking a dump, or dealing with room mates. I do not Alt F4 out. All my versions are correct and I only join servers that host the same versions as I run. Also when I do log out to cook or use the washroom or any of that business, I don't relog right away... It's usually at least a five or ten minute break, so it shouldn't appear as random sketchy behavior or server hopping... So please don't try and sound like you know what's going on when you have less of a clue than the average tool posting here. Being negative and simply assuming that everything is working correctly doesn't really help improve anything. Sometimes mistakes are made, and they need to be dealt with. also I'd like to say that this change would be fine, if hackers weren't such an issue, if vehicles and tents saved properly, and if the dozens of other things fucked up with this game weren't fucked up. But as it stands there's way too many legitimate reasons to leave a server, and this coast teleporting thing makes this game a complete fucking headache for me. I love this game, but there's only so much pointless shit and abuse I can take from it. There are REAL issues that need fixing that ACTUALLY effect the average player.
  13. It's funny because I predict a spike in hacking due to this sort of 'fix'. I've already met a few 'friendly' hackers, people who hack but don't grief other people. They hack to get around some of the ridiculous systems in this game. With this new random teleporting issue, hell I can hardly blame them. I spent two hours trying to meet up with my buddy last night, we were playing right beside one another in the same room I mean, so very easy to communicate. But was just dealing with constant BS along the way, we finally did meet up and the server shut down, proceeded to spend another half hour meeting up..... Then I had to leave for work. I also work night shifts, so if I want to play on the same server as my friends constantly, I have to play during night like 90% of the time. I know it's part of the game, but just because I work strange shifts this negatively impacts me... So yeah I usually have two or three servers that I play on, with different time zones, and they go down from time to time so I have to find new ones for that time zone etc... Seriously though, as others have pointed out, server hopping is an issue but there are many other way more important issues that need to be dealt with first. Leaving them broken while 'fixing' server hopping just screws over the average joe.
  14. Excellent post. Most of what I was thinking about and even more.
  15. This one guy harassed my friends for about a half hour the other night until they gave up and quit, losing their vehicle and one of them being killed with over 600 kills and 20+days survived...... You don't seem to get that a ton of regular players hack in weapons and gear, then go around and hunt other people, generally the legit players. It's not just the crazy hackers that spawn heli's and teleport everywhere. I've met a "friendly" hacker, gave me a bunch of loot way more than he could have been holding.... Was actually one of my first DayZ experiences..... ( I got sniped out about ten minutes later. ) I play on low pop servers as well and I still see it regularly. I've never found a server to stick with cause I constantly run into bs. maybe I just have badluck I dunno, but it's incredibly frustrating. When I search for servers now, I avoid joining games with people that have have douchebag names, like clan tags and capitalizing every other letter in their name. So yeah, my experience, isn't much of a survival game, more of a random deathmatch game. You can say what you want but that's how I see it for the most part, this last patch just made it a hell of a lot worse for me. Afterthough; I feel like it's less of a zombie survival game, and more of a hacker survival game.
  16. Like if you're on your home server with your tents and vehicles or whatever, and all of a sudden a hacker or three log in, it happens, are you just supposed to log out and stay offline until the fucking hackers have had their fun? Sorry but I choose to go play on another server for awhile until the hackers are gone, but now if you do that, you're teleported to the fucking coast. Sweet. Do the devolopers even realize how fucking rampant hacking is? The best part is, shit like this will just encourage the less patient of us to get those hacks just to teleport around and bypass this stupid shit. This game has terrible issues with progression. You can't really rely on tents or vehicles, and that's not even considering other players finding them, they're just incredibly unreliable with the way the servers work... So it's really hard to simulate past the first few days of survival imo. You can only keep so many things on you securely, and there's no way to progress past that point with a camp because the game just doesn't work properly. So now, people trying to cling to their progression, get randomly fucking teleported halfway across the map directly into the line of snipers. Sorry but this is completely fucking stupid. It makes trying to progress feel fucking pointless, and just makes this feel like a Pvp circle jerk deathmatch game.
  17. I can understand them wanting to fix server hopping, it's a legitimate issue... But right now, with the way the game is, there are way to many legitimate reasons to leave a server as many people have pointed out. I've been teleported in game by hackers more than once. I've come upon huge stashes of weapons clearly spawned by hackers. I've seen hackers spawn vehicles, and I've been told that they're not even spawning them, they're teleporting the vehicle from somewhere else on the map, Making it that much harder for legitimate players to find vehicles. I mean the game is hard enough to progress in for most people, you shouldn't get teleported away from tents, vehicles, or any other things you have saved / setup on your server. This is just complete bs... I really enjoy the core of this game, but these patches should be fixing things, not making them worse...
  18. Is this a fucking first person shooter or what? So far I've just been running around, using the poorly designed pick up items system to try and scavenge fucking empty cans of cola, sweeeet. I haven't found a single fucking weapon to defend myself with, I found a hunting knife a minute ago and was like sweet something to defend myself with finally, NOPE, no dice. It's a fucking hunting knife but you can't protect yourself with it. I've watched tutorial videos where the stupid fuck walks into a building and finds THREE WEAPONS. Do I just have the worst fucking possible luck or what? If I take a few hits, which is pretty unavoidable using the shitty pick up items system, my vision starts to go fucking haywire then I can't even see any items if I wanted to. Zombies chase you for fucking ever, and without some way to fucking fight them this game is fucking ridiculously stupid.
  19. You had to edit that? What the hell, three words and you still fucked it up? Congrats.
  20. Must be missing something, food gives me a bit of blood it seems, but not enough to get up to full again, not sure what items to use or what process I'm supposed to be doing. Any help is appreciated . Is there a way to stash items somewhere outside of my inventory? I have an Alice Pack and recently raided one of the big towns, got a lot of survival stuff like blood packs and food, water bottles etc, but my packs are completely full. I've heard people making Camps before, but how does that work with the servers, leaving and joining etc, and I don't know how often servers restart, any of those mechanics... Do I pretty much keep what I have on me and that's it, and is the Alice pack the biggest? Also with vehicles, If I'm in a vehicle and leave the game, do I keep the vehicle when I join another server?

Few noob questions, please help :)

Hmm I didn't realize server with passwords are against the rules.. I made a post asking about one and it was deleted within 15 minutes. :o

Few noob questions, please help :)

yeah it took me awhile to realize the open bag thing. I picked up a bigger bag and noticed that I hadn't actually increased my storage space.. And yeah I wasn't thinking of buying a server just to store stuff, but more trying to find a server that has a password, like a community server or something.. And if I save a vehicle is it any less glitchy than saving a tent?
  23. quoted for truth. I work in a dead end convenience store, been looking for better work for the last couple years, and it's not easy.. I just had an interview with a decent company, and they have really high standards now because they know that they have the upper hand. It can be said that in that situation they have always had the upper hand, but nowadays it's easier for them to be very picky with their hiring practices... But yeah, the guy who was laughing that off is either young or born with a silver spoon so to speak.
