It is a mod under development and sometimes the developers may break something, on order to proceed to the next level....deal with it, in which ever way you wish. In the mean time, before ranting, take a look whether one can offer better solutions. If you cannot, it will be better to focus your frustrations on something other than those who are putting all this hard work into the project. I have been content to wait for the stand alone, for the past few months.....will I find an alternative in the mean time....will I come back...time will tell. Ranting and slating the developers is constitutes bad manners and childish behaviour.

Making a place to have a more secure storage is what I am most looking forward to. Many people have different ideas of what they want out of the game and many, many suggestions are made. These are usually made in order to support a particular play style. There are those who wand an extremely difficult to survive in world, those that want to PVP, those that want something in the middle and many more play styles. For me....I am tired of having to find an axe, matches and a hunting knife each time I die. Those that play in large groups gear up very easily while the solo players have a harder time of getting their gear together. A friend of mine prefers to to drop his back pack bandages on spawning in and likes it the harder approach. I cherish the possibility of base building which will lend itself to yet another play style. I like the idea of making the fire place a storage area, for now. I do not know whether this is possible, or not....but a great idea all the same.

OP....The more hype there is about the release date, the greater the probability there will be of a successful launch. Having said that, the opposite can be said if the team does not deliver the product within the expected time frame. There has to be a balance between the quality of the product and the hype built up around it. They need to keep their fans interested and the gaming market has a fickle clientele. They promised news, after their assessment this week and they should keep delivering on their promises. As the Developer referred to in the last blog entry, (We are still working towards a target for an initial foundation before the end of the year. But we will slip this date if needed, we will not compromise the project for the short-term gain of meeting this date. The reasons for any slippage would be publicly discussed, and would most likely represent a failure personally on my part to plan correctly. We will be assessing the results of our major architectural changes at the end of next week, and reporting the results to everyone when we have assessed that.)

The Stand Alone version is imminent. Buying that will support Rocket and his team. I believe that they are not accepting donations.

Before trying anything else, try to flush it. Left Shift and Minus, on your Number pad....then type, flush

To play the mods not supported on DayZ Commander, you need to enter Arma, the conventional way, then un-check the DayZ expansion. You can then play the other mods or Arma, through entering them in the multi-player lobby, in Arma.

Use DayZ Commander to update and install your files. It gives you an option to roll them back and in my opinion, is the best way to go about installing DayZ.

It sounds way different to what I imagined. In a way a whole different approach to what we have been playing up to now. I do not know enough to comment on whether or not I like this, at this stage. I am no expert and I am not a creative type person, so I trust the judgement of the developer. To me it translates to taking the game into the direction of a medical simulation, but as long as there is a good balance between infection and cure, and creates interaction between players, it should provide us with an interesting game path.

I agree....Teamspeak is the best way to get close to other players. One can use direct chat too, as a step towards jooiing each other on Teamspeak or any other VOIP application. The server I play on has a kind of unspoken agreement. If we are in the same Teamspeak room, we are co-operating. Good luck.

It is an open ended game, played in many different ways. Personally, I think it is great that the payers decide the course of the game....whether it be bounty hunting or offering medical services.

It seems you basically logged in behind them and that resulted in the deaths. As you said this is a private hive, server and the best way forward would be for you to get in touch with the administrators and see whether you are able to work things out. About them saying that their positions were spread out....I think this could maybe have been lag. The administrators will able to see by the logs. Good luck.

In answer to your question....Yes. I believe that he has set certain targets and has the resolve to follow them through. We all have our own conception of what we want out of the game but whether or not I like the emphasis of the game moving in a certain direction, is not important for now. As he alluded to...the community will play a part in the direction the developers take the title. It will hopefully be geared, down the line, to accommodate different play styles. If the current game is released, locked down, tidied up, then they will have a great base to build on and will be off to solid start. If this title is supported we can assume that there will be great features and updates to come.
