    Build 1.7.3 Rolling Update

    Thank you....!!!
  2. IMO, these games are not comparable. It is like comparing a game like Gran Turismo with Rfactor. For me it is DayZ all the way.....but.....each to their own.

    DayZ Commander??

You are able to select your presets through DayZ Commander including your map, Arma Version and DayZ version. This can be found on the left hand side of the DayZ Commander window.
  4. This is a great innovative hive with excellent admins....Give it a try. http://bmrf.me/
  5. It sounds as if the tent had been set up to loot cycle.

    Looking for private hives

I have been playing on http://bmrf.me/ for a while now and it is simply the best DayZ experience I have had. Give it a try.

    Grounded the little turd

You at least have to be successful at cheating, for it to be effective which they were not as they were caught, grounded and banned!!!! In my view what do cheaters achieve? 1. They pay for the game. 2. They ruin it for themselves, and others. 3. They do not get the intended effect of the game. On the other hand, if their intention was....(which I doubt)... to spend money on the game for the sole purpose of cheating it, full knowing that they will not be able to use the software again, then they have accomplished a meaningless exercise...which boils down to wasting their parents money.

    Heli Crash Sites

One tends to get more excited about finding FN Fal ammo.

    Heli Crash Sites

I switched to a private hive, around the beginning of September, but have had similar fortune regarding crash sites. Sometimes I tend to find them...other times not. I think there is a set number....either 4 or 6 crash site spawns upon server restarts. One morning I even found one....almost inside the town of Staroye.

    Grounded the little turd

    You have my :beans: Sir.
  11. I have two suggestions. 1. Write to the admin, and apologise. 2. Familiarise yourself with the weapon list and do not use those which are not on it. Good luck!

    Discriminative loot spawn

Firstly....apologies for taking this almost off topic and to recap....I agree that the loot rate should be proportionate to the amount of people on the server. I think player interaction is very important...whether it may be friendly or PVP. It boils down to a choice....Search for the basics, (food, water....etc), or search for players and other loot? I am saying that the balance needs to be maintained but I think that one can only struggle to survive for so long, before your interest drifts.

    Discriminative loot spawn

Your proposal has merit, and, (IMO), it is BEAN worthy, although I would like to add that I think the basic survival tools should stay the same or be a little more accessible. Take for example a box of matches. It would be nice for them to spawn across more spawn types. At the moment they span in residential buildings...I would say expand this to residential and industrial spawn locations. I agree that the game needs to be more challenging and through reading Rockets response to questions, I believe it will be. But...as with everything...there needs to be a balance to attract new players, and to retain existing players. If it is too difficult to survive, many players will not persist and may quit, even before they get to the better part of the experience. From a business perspective, numbers will ensure the longevity and expansion of the project.

tents slide down slope after restart

So is mine Leadon77....I was not able to access it after the server restarted.....We live and learn, I suppose.

    Punishment on death revisited

I hear what you are saying and agree that death penalty should be a bit more punitive, however, as you also allude to....certain restrictions can be counter productive. EDIT - For Standalone It would be great to see balance that is not too punitive on newer players and balances the penalty for more experienced players. Since thinking about your post a bit, I would suggest something along the following lines, by way of a game timer. 1. New player >24 hours game time - spawn as per usual 2. Novice >48 hours game time - may spawn XX minutes after death 3. Expert >60 hours of game time - may spawn XXX minutes after death What are your thoughts?

    Dead man switch

Nice read...thank you for sharing. It is always nice to read the different stories and encounters we all have.
  19. I spent most of my 1st lives being eaten, too, until I learnt how to navigate around the zombies and learnt the basic building types and layout of the map. it was very frustrating at first, but the game has given me a great deal of enjoyment.
  20. I am usually lucky, I guess, although I did not think so before reading your post. I have been gearing up since my last death...last Friday. I have been wanting to replace my AKS Kobra and have been searching every possible spawn spot since. As it happens, this morning I found 2 of them. I suppose one needs to be persistent and needs to have a bit of lady luck on your side. I have been playing on a private hive and find gearing up to be a bigger mission than on the public hive, where I usually find tents with loot. I hope you find your preferred gear soon....Good Luck!!!

Is anyone else having this problem?

DayZ Commander for me.......I do not know whether it may take longer to load or not....But I would think that if you have stored items, in tents or vehicles it should take longer?

    The constant discussion about 'hacking'.

I have taken to a private hive for now. I am marking time until the standalone is released. From time to time I log on in the public domain, but not for any great length of time. To me this is a WIP, and I view it as such. The mod has given me an immense amount of pleasure and I have been fortunate to to have been hacked too often. As I have mentioned before...I cannot comprehend the idea of hacking. Some people purchases a game, then destroy the game play for themselves and others by scripting...I simply do not understand the logic. Roll on standalone!!!
  23. Great post and I will give you BEANS for all the ideas.
