liquidje replied to SporHet's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
So you are having troubles with epoch? Why are you asking in the SA forums? -
fps issues after trying to fix. please help
liquidje replied to sortadrunk's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Oh yeah, that one too. The gtx 760 is on par with the gtx 660Ti, so pick whichever you like (look up some benchmarks for comparisons). The 760 is newer, but newer is not always better (for example, your gtx610 is worse than a high end gtx5##, and probably even a high-end gtx4##. Radeon is the newest model. To be honest, whichever you pick will more or less be a matter of taste and which one "feels" right. There are small variations in price and performance though. It's hard to pick one over the other. If you need anything let me know. I'm sure you will be very happy with your new upgrade :) -

Best bang for your bucks is r270x for around $250 based on amazon (I'm from the Netherlands, I don't really know the regular prices in the US). If you want to go Nvidia get the 660 (Ti), which is on par. -

Sorry, but I am afraid your graphics card is not gonna cut it. It is a new series (GTX6##), but the slowest model, which is really designed mainly for general usage and play some light games. Unfortunately, DayZ is not a light game, it is very demanding. Either upgrade your graphics card or live with the framerate. I am actually surprised you can even maintain that framerate. I don't know how you'll manage frameratewise in the cities though. To maybe push a few more frames per second out of it download the newest drivers from nvidia and set the game as low as possible. -
Quite idealistic. It would probably be something like: A: "Wanna duel?" B: "Sure!" A: "Ok we face eachothers back anad then walk ten steps from eachother, then turn around and shoot, I'll count! One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Sev...." B: "LoL" *Loots body* :P

Could we have servers that don't respawn loot?
liquidje replied to Iain365's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Read his post, he suggests some kind of tournament mode, not just disable loot respawns. I also like the idea :) -
Do you people don't have anything better to do when society is colapsing? :P I see bandit tactics from this system, but hey, I am interested to see it. Get that FRAPS/OBS recording and post it here :D

As far as I know you can. Even so, if it doesn't work you can always verify file integrity through Steam. Next just try it out for yourself. Move files somewhere else, run the game, see what happens. Takes less time than posting on the forums.

I don't like what current state of player interaction has turned into
liquidje replied to DannyFilming's topic in General Discussion
Could be confused, don't know the controls, don't know English, etc. You can't judge "the current state" on one single encounter... -
The problem is you assume there are just 2 kinds of people and you make assumptions about what they want. How about the people who want PvE, but are quite paranoid because of high-value loot they carry? How about griefers? How about roleplayers? And playing 100 hours before starting the 'real' game is redicilous. If you are interested in some other games as well, work and don't play games every waking hour you are free, 100 hours of gameplay is incredible large. Also, what do you think bandits (not griefers, legitimate bandits) will do when they want something, which is available on a server that is also relatively low on hostility? They own the place. The game has to be in balance in that regard. Read around the forums how many people entered "no KoS" servers and where killed. Why? Because those servers are the best places to be a bandit.

Some things never change. Stranger Danger in Elektro
liquidje replied to chernojourno's topic in Gallery
While I probably would not have shot you, I think they were a bit on edge on how happy you were. Also standing in the corner probably made them hestitate a bit as well? -
[Suggestion] Sound mechanics which reflects human senses better
liquidje replied to Ken Bean's topic in General Discussion
It's not that easy, that requires a lot of additional checks taking up resources. Even so, why the whole elaborate coughing/sound mechanism? If we are wasting resources to 3rd person visibility checks, I'd rather have them hide the other player altogether for the 3rd person player. -
So... you dont have the same problem?
-
Alpha is for functionality, Beta is for content. I really think there are many other issues which are far more important. Also adding a new weapon will not change gameplay much, compared to fixing the issues at hand.

Wierd computer shutting down in the menus! PLEASE HELP!
liquidje replied to BloodBagBandits's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Check temps (using speedfan or similar), check power supply (using multimeter in a molex connector, or again speedfan or similar), test RAM (memtest). If you have it with other games as well, the issue is not with the game, but with your PC. Doesnt hurt to check if everything is up to date as well.
