So here is how it works now: (I think) Start with 2,000 Humanity Hero = 5,000 Humanity or more Survivor = 1 to 5,000 Humanity Bandit = 0 Humanity or Less (Must hit 2,000 to regain survivor status) I propose a fourth class, we could call it anything but I like the word "marauder". Here is how it would work: Start with 100 Humanity Hero = 5,000 Humanity or more Survivor = 1 to 5,000 Humanity Marauder = 0 to -2,000 Humanity (Must hit 500 to regain survivor status) Bandit = -2,000 Humanity or less (Must hit 0 to regain marauder status) Additional tweaks: Killing anyone other than a bandit will always result in a loss of humanity, although you will lose significantly less if the kill was done in self defense. Humanity loss will be increased if your target is unarmed, has a lowered weapon, or has a melee weapon and is 25 or more meters away. Self Defense: A kill will be considered self defense if the person killed was aggressive. Aggressiveness will work similarly to the combat timer, certain actions will cause a player to be considered aggressive for a period of time. Aiming down sights at someone who is not aggressive and in a higher humanity tier makes you aggressive.for a short period of time. (30 seconds) Shooting at anyone other than a bandit who is not aggressive makes you aggressive for a longer period of time. (5 Minutes) Killing anyone who is not aggressive makes you aggressive the longest period of time. (30 minutes) The idea is that people will have to try harder to maintain survivor humanity or better (thus making a survivor more trustworthy), but there is more leeway in between being a survivor and a bandit.

I know the inventory system is being redone in the stand alone so some things aren't as clumsy and switching equipment will be quicker/easier, but I was thinking it would be cool to have the option to equip an item faster by dropping your current item rather than putting it back in your inventory. For example, dropping your primary weapon to switch to your side arm. The same could be done with reloading; to reload faster you drop the old mag on the ground instead of putting it away.

When did I ever say anything about empty mags?

I think we should be able to light buildings and vehicles on fire.
-
Personally I don't see a problem with this. Buildings are repaired on server reset which usually happens multiple times a day. This is how I'm thinking it would work. You light fire to a building and for the first few seconds nothing happens (maybe a localized fire graphic), and then smoke starts the fill the building. It takes 2-5 minutes for the building to fill with smoke (depending on size) during which any players inside small but increasingly bigger hits of damage. Then after that period of time the entire building is on fire and people inside start taking large hits of damage and have a chance to acquire a "burn" status effect which does small amounts of damage and can only be cured by dousing your burn in a water source. After a few more minutes the building collapses and continues to smolder until server restart. If you walk on the smoldering remains you take damage and have a chance to get burned.

Locks and keys ( a different suggestion)
PohTayToez replied to gummygum173's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I like parts of the idea but I think you've made it way too complicated. What if any lootable building with doors had a really small chance to spawn a key to the building. More than one person could have the key to a certain building, but obtaining the key to any one building would be really hard/unlikely due to the low spawn chance. Breaching the door could be done with either a crowbar or explosive, crowbar taking longer but being somewhat quieter and explosives being instant but alerting every Zed within earshot. Also if this were implemented I think they should also allow the torching of buildings using a matchbox and filled jerry can. -

Oh man, you hate to see a server you play on regularly show up here. :( -
So tents suck, right? So I was thinking, what if there was a save feature added to packs just like vehicles and tents have. I think it would be awesome if I could fill a pack and stash it somewhere, and it would be a whole lot more realistic that shoving a tent in the middle of tree. In order to balance them with tents they could despawn faster, i.e. disappear if they aren't interacted with for two or three days. What do you guys think?

Savable Backpacks - An Alternative to Tents?
PohTayToez replied to PohTayToez's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Thanks for the input guys! I agree that it might be best to restrict it to certain packs (although I'm thinking maybe both Coyote and ALICE), and if it were up to me you would definitely still be able to use them to store weapons.
