This post is BS. When you have bandit skin, once your humanity is back up to 2000+ (Does not take that long with the passive regen) you will get a survivor skin again. I've swapped between survivor and bandit a dozen times now.

Is it possible to test DayZ before buying ARMA?
tunedbeats replied to ghsdrhdrhdgh's topic in New Player Discussion
I guarantee you won't be disappointed. Go go spend the 25 euros already. :D Not ONLY do you get to play DayZ, but Arma2 has very fun single player campaigns, mission builders, full modding support, other multiplayer gametypes, and tons and tons of custom content both MP and SP. If getting 100s of hours worth of gametime isn't worth 25 euros then I don't know whats wrong with you :P People spend 50 euros for a night of beers in the town no problem but 20 euro's for a game that will last them 100x longer is always an issue :dodgy: -
Wait..wait... what if!

Do you remember your first murder or murderer?
tunedbeats replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
My first murder was self-defense, I guess that falls more into manslaughter then? :) Second time playing, I spawned near a harbor, not sure which one it was anymore, was a small one though. I made my way over there (It was night time) and started scouting for supplies. I tossed a flare to the middle of the area to light up my search a bit. 10 seconds later as I'm crouching around I suddenly get fired at. 2 bullets wizz along my face as a third one hits me, I hit the ground for cover and the shooting stops. I crawl away and move towards a corner right between a house and a fence, bandaged up, took a painkiller and just waited.. Suddenly I heard footsteps behind me, my assassin had returned to finish the job! I kept my ironsights pointed at the opening in the fence, and just waited. I could hear his footsteps nearing the fence. As soon as I popped his head through the opening I unloaded 3 shots to his face killing him instantly. As I moved towards his corpse to see if he had anything on him, I suddenly noticed a second player closeby, clearly there were two of them! The other player shot at me and missed, I returned fire and he went prone, I kept unloading my clip into him killing him eventually. Both were still survivors, I now was a bandit, 2 murders on my hand. -

What kind of maps do you want to see in the full game?

Chernarus is perfect, just should be able to enter more (if not all) buildings. Then this game would be PERFECT. -
Attempted video commentary how to not sneak around zombies :D
tunedbeats replied to milancz's topic in New Player Discussion
Winchester is indeed my favorite weapon for taking out Zombies. 1 shot 1 kill, and the rate of fire and the reload is fairly quick. Other then that, hilarous movie and really shows well how a innocent stroll around town can turn very ugly very quick. Its why I personally almost always crawl in towns. If they look your way you're screwed :) -
So I logged in earlier for the second time and spawned on the beach near a harbor. Perhaps not the best move but I decided to have a look there to see if there were any supplies there. On the perimeter I noticed there were zombies about, but I wanted to avoid them if possible so started to sneak around. I tossed a flare far a away to distract them a bit and to give me some light to move around better while they scurry around the light. As I'm moving around, suddenly I get fired at. I managed to dodge most bullets but did get hit by one or two, I crouched away and hid in a corner. I tried to shout at my attacker to let him know I meant him no harm. I bandaged myself and stayed put for a few minutes while the attacker stayer quiet, when I started to notice movement close to my position, obviously the culprit was looking for me and he had no intention of exchanging pleasantries. As he leaned around the corner I fired two shots at him and managed to take him out. It turned out he was a friend who returned fire at me. I took him out as well. While the game-play was awesome, from my point of view I was obviously not the aggressor here, however now I'm suddenly flagged with two 'murders' and I'm labeled a bandit. Now I understand this is how the game works, apparently they were new players too trying to get easy pickings on me, and perhaps take my stuff for some extra supplies. However I'd rather not go around labeled a a Bandit for all my DayZ career, is there any way for me to get my humanity back from this ordeal? I was merely defending myself against aggressors but I have no intention of being a bandit. Is there any way for me to work my reputation back and remove my bandit status? tl;dr I had to defend myself against two players who were trying to take me out. I survived however I now have two murders on my hand and are labeled a Bandit. Any way for me to work my rep back up? Thanks :)

I see, 2000? Wow, it was quite a hassle getting it back up to 500 from -2500+, but I'll keep at it! :) Thanks for that info.

Ok so I got my Humanity back up to 500, but I still look like a Bandit :( It makes grouping up with others impossible because no one trusts me (Which is totally understandable :) )

Thanks for your responses everyone :) It is good to know I can go back to becomming a Survivor through hard work. Thanks!

Hey all, First off, thanks for taking your time to read through my questions! I was wondering how does the Survivor and Bandit system work exactly? How do you become a bandit? And if you are one is it possible to go back to survivor? My 'guess' is that when you kill another player you become a bandit? What happens when you kill another player that was out to kill you? Another thing I'm quite concerned about and the main reason why I'm opening this thread, I saw some posts concerning people afraid of getting perma-banned by looting weapons that are not allowed. I wonder though, how can it that these weapons exist in the game if they are not allowed? How can a player ever know what they can and can't do if its freely available in the game world? Are hackers bringing those weapons into the game? Some clarification on this would be awesome :) Lastly, I'm having extreme difficulty maneuvering through the dark, any tips? EDIT: Let me clarify that I LOVE the night time game play and the fact it's pitch black is amazing. The tension and atmosphere it creates is 2nd to none, so please do not see this as a complaint. Just some tips on how to be more effective in the dark when all you have is flares would be amazing :) Thanks a lot for any assistance and see you in-game :)

Am I the luckiest newbie player?
tunedbeats replied to MidnightReverie's topic in New Player Discussion
Nah I disagree, having developers adding features like that removes the opportunity for players to create the content. Yes you won't be able to global trade, yes people might screw you over. Thats the nature of the game. You want it to be more theme-park like, I disagree. -
