"New" map for pvp style Dayz, it's in beta but so far I've encountered no game breaking bugs. Some of the DE servers are now open to the public, you just need to whitelist at Zombies.nu. If you like exploring some place new and like pvp, this might be for you. :)

Looks great, liking the updated graphics, menu and options. Rip tying and kidnapping someone is just uber cool. Alas no DayZ for at least a month and a half but it's looking like December again in my opinion. That's not cool. Ho hum... :(

Correct me if I'm wrong, I usually am, didn't some of the better known streamers get invites to the closed Alpha? If so will we get to see some gameplay before the standalone is released? With the release, hopefully, weeks away it would be great to see it in action with servers of 50+ players. :)

I'm bored waiting now, plenty other games out there to play.

Even with a good card, gtx 560ti or better, that cpu might struggle on a high pop server.

It would be hard to tell until you play it, Dayz/Arma 2 is a weird beast when it comes to frame rates. The number of players, vehicles etc play just an important part. I can put on Escape from Chernarus, on my own with AI density set to 4 players and get 40-50 fps on high with a gtx 680. However set it to 7-8 and I get 25fps while using a i5 3450, while your i7 should be a lot better Arma 2 doesn't actually use hyper threading which is a big part of an i7. Simple answer is just play it and see, I'd say two sli gtx780 and 32gb ram is way more that you will ever use, let alone need. Unless you've already got them just try one card and 16gb.

Er....... All the console players who don't have a pc?

MS has State of Decay which will be an mmo on the xbox one, why would they need DayZ. They have half the ideas already and in 1-2yrs with their cloud servers will no doubt have an always online "xbox one" version of DayZ in Sod. PS4 is Dean and Co's best shot but even then it will need some major work to get around the keyboard/mouse issue. It's all a very long way off what even system they may or may not choose.

My five doesn't quite cut it then, lol.

My prediction : I just wait until it's done while playing the mod (sahrani at present) , Arma with gems like escape from Cherno and custom made missions, Arma 3 beta etc etc.
