Do people go out of THEIR way to kill new players?

If you couldn't kill other players and just "survive" against the zeds then Dayz wouldn't be half the game it is. While it is a pain not everyone shoots, i met a couple dudes last night. Also getting in and out of Cherno firestation, supermarket (with bandit tent out back :| ) and hospital past fly ridden corpses while they shot every zed in sight was truly epic. :D -

Its not flawless though, wouldn't work first time of trying for me. Works fine now though, i like the ability to easily downgrade a Arma beta version if you need to, saved my bacon last night. Also its great for pc new boys like me, easy to get to grips with and sticks every file where it needs to go. :D -

Walked all the way to Berezino, got kitted up and spawned back there again tonight. Got kicked, server just shut down without warning and next spawn was a Cherno, bit miffed but I can deal with it. Had to long logpng off again and new spawn is in debug plains, still had my gun so quickly logged off again. Now I've spawned with nothing, not even a bandage. What is the point.... :(

Defo update to server version, or most popular one used. I tried latest version tonight and suffered terrible artifacts so has to downgrade. Good job DayZcommander let's you do that now. :) -

I have all the updated files/beta through DayzCommander, in fact i didn't teleport until i updated last night. After that i jumped a few times and eventually lost everything. :| -

He shouldn't of been such a muppet and just ran between the house, you can easily lose zeds since the last update. There's no need to make such a racket by shooting at them. The only time I'm careful, crawling around, is if there are other players around town. Agro'ed zeds will give you away and someone will surely shoot you.

I lost two nights worth of kit last night through this, started just teleporting in random places then in the debug plains. After that I started with NO KIT, not even my backpack or bandage. It managed to remember my blood was a 11500 though. Very annoying. -

I've been having trouble to, 560ti 448 but it's worse in town. Levels out in the country side and altering video settings made jack all difference. I guess it's still in alpha so it's to be expected.

Surely all your saves should be backed up client side so this wouldn't happen?

Same just happened to me, spawned in three different places, last one with no back pack. I was on an English server to, 122 or 228 I think. Spent two nights sneaking about and was about to go back up north with loads of everything. :(

Doesn't seem much point in playing in its present state. While I love it to bits running into Electro every night is gonna get pretty boring, pretty quick.

If it was a zed or a bandit yeah but i might as well just been hacked Anyway it remembered my blood level but didn't even give me a backpack. Ran to Electro, found the hospital and two guys, told them i was friendly but had brought to many zeds with me. While they axed them to little bits i looked for meds and accidently ran past one and off went my head. So some poor dude has a murder on his record now, lol. GAME OVER... :|

I was thinking, in the standalone version that we should all have a permanent id, at least for the life of that game character. Then players, the good guys, could set up bounties on particularly evil bandits. Bounties being paid in goods, top bits of kit that players donate etc. Then if you choose to be a bandit, you take the risk of being hunted down from server to server. This would mean you could hunt them down but still be a good guy... :)
