As you say servers cost money and not everyone can afford it, myself included. It will just lead to resentments in the end, been there with fancy clan web sites/hosting etc. Also having a locked server would be just a waste, while we all hate hackers, DayZ wouldn't be Dayz without bandits etc. If you can't fear death then whats the point imo? I'm hoping the Standalone will fix most of the hacking, stop script kiddies mostly, there will always be some clever arseholes around but thats the same in any game on any system. :) Anyone know why this thread is broken and doesn't appear on front page anymore?

No you need to click connect, top left hand corner, then enter the server ip in the box that opens up. You can find the server ip in the temp shout box, link in my sig. You might have to trawl through the spam buts its a list of numbers. We should all be in one of the rooms.

It happens to us all, I hated the thought of killing but like you hated dying so often. Raged and slaughtered a few noobs for a while, then came to my senses and found god, now I'm a good person again. :) Best fun I had was being the Tensionator, just shooting at guys but not intending to kill, just to get their blood pumping, lol ;)

Join the Team speak server fella, server details in the shout box. You can download it here, it's free to use, you only pay to have a server. http://www.teamspeak.co.uk/ Worked a treat last night, we all met up from literally the four corners of the map lol.

Because direct chat only works over a very limited distance, so if we are on the other side of the map its unless. Also everyone close enough can hear your chatter, invites unwanted attention and death, I've been killed in Cherno because of it. :)

We've had this problem and have checked all settings in DayZcommander, some servers just don't seem to show on both. Will try the name search layer. :) -

What's the betting this thread don't get over 3000 views and 230 odd posts like another "popular" thread around here. :) Ok lets give this thread a reason to live. So how many oldies remember this as being your first home "console"? Circa 1976'ish. It was just versions of Pong you could play on your tv. I remember being bored after two days lol... :lol:

Scrap that, I was on a server last night and found a huge weapon dump in the middle of a field. Every weapon in the game and quite a few that aren't. May go back and pinch the satchel charges and blow it sky high. Didn't take anything! :)
