You should be able to use WINE (http://www.winehq.org). It allows you to run Windows binaries in a desktop environment (like Ubuntu). -

Hi DomiStyle, First off let me give a very big thankyou for writing and developing this tool. It's so far been the best, most featured and stable RCON I've used for ARMA 2 so far :) Just a few questions about the application (if they've already been answered, I apologise for wasting your time). 1) Is the "show remoteexec.log" e.t.c function dependent on the configuration of the filters on the server? I notice there is mention of having to enable an RCON output line (using 2 "whateveryouwantshowninrcon"). Is there any other way to pull this information using RCON? Obviously on DayZ Origins servers we don't have the option due to the lockdown of access by GamersPlatoon. 2) Is there a way that we can improve the behaviour of the reconnect after a server restart? Can we manually change the reconnect timer? If we know the average time until BEC shutdown and startup, we can configure the client accordingly so we have seamless reporting of server happenings :) I realise that the tool works primarily off the information gleaned from RCON, so I understand if these functions are not possible :) Cheers! -
This. I loved DayZ when I started playing it towards the end of last year because it was new, tricky and difficult. Now you're adding stupid food items, making zombies useless and not really fixing any bugs like tent duping (which has been around for AGES). I appreciate your continued efforts "maintaining" the mod, but there's so many much more important things to do to bring the mod to a shine than add silly named food items. Don't get me wrong, there's lots of great fixes in this changelog, but I play DayZ nightly, I'm not really part of the greater "community" and I care not for items which don't fit DayZ "canon" and just serve to waste more space in the gear screen. Bring back the difficulty, the fear, the excitement. DayZ has long been going down the path of being a loot simulator and not really about "ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE SURVIVAL", as it once was. There was a study done once into games a while ago that showed people liked new, difficult games that didn't hand-hold the player. The last patch had zombies at almost the right level of difficult IMO. Sounds like it's going backwards now. Spawning with backpacks, what next, 3 bandages, painkillers, a coke and a pistol?

Improve the idea and build the content (feature add). <-- YOU ARE HERE! Beta: Preliminary or testing stage of a software or hardware product. Iron out most bugs (preferrably all). Get ready for content/feature-complete release. <-- YOU ARE NOT HERE Release Candidate: The full game, with all content, ready for mass consumption. No major gameplay bugs. <-- YOU ARE NOWHERE NEAR HERE This game is in public alpha stage. Not Beta. Not Release Candidate. Alpha. That means, it's not ready, but it's available publically for testing and feedback (see the preliminary testing next to Alpha above? Getting the picture?). This thread and all it's comments are a side effect of people having no idea what Alpha means. I truly hope the devs DON'T read the forums and instead focus on people providing helpful, insightful feedback instead of RARGH MY FREE ALPHA MOD TO A GAME ISN'T WORKING 100% PERFECTLY I HATE YOU ROCKET. Side note; I personally love rocket and all the devs for making a great free mod. Can't wait to see what the full release is like. -

Graphical glitches are still occuring. All files within @DayZ\addons replaced. All drivers up to date. The same workaround of toggling graphics settings seems to fix it (i.e Video Memory between Medium-Default, Texture Details between Low-High, e.t.c). Thanks for the patch though, I love the rest of the changes :) Artifact seemed to be caused by dead bodies near the barn north of NWAF. Additionally, another glitch is apparent where a texture which looks like a close-weave chain-link fence appears above dead military bodies. -
Just had a thought, surely it's trivial to log to console when a player spawns an item? The engine can tell when someone spawns in an item, right? Why not just do something like; on SPAWN; if $item is not in %whitelist then kick/ban Not sure how my logic translates into the engine, but surely it's easy to implement an item whitelist/blacklist and then action the blacklisted items? Just a thought?
