I'm in the UK working a 9am - 5pm job, and by the time I get home, the servers that will give me a reletively good FPS/ping will also, unfortunately, give me about 2 hours of sunlight before I have to start playing with no light. Therefore, I get my real sessions in at the weekend if I'm not busy, or suck it up and play on a daylight server where I'm gonna get sucky pings. I know what you're saying though - as cool as the relative time system is, it's a little bit of a pain.

It really just doesn't fit into the whole ethos of DayZ. Zombies.. Bounty Hunting.. Zombies... Bounty Hunting... It's like trying to mix vomit and cigerette ash to form a nice moisturising facial scrub - it doesn't work, and well, it's really, really quite unplesant to think about.

It won't launch via Steam unless you've created a brand new shortcut for it - the Beta and Operation Arrowhead that you initially installed run from two seperate destinations. I run my DayZ by launching it from the DayZ Beta.cmd file that's floating about (sorry - I got mine from a TS file transfer, don't know the link for download) but I assume that Six Updater will apply all relevant, recent DayZ .pbo's - it should also apply and launch the appropriate version of OA, depending on what server you double-clicked 'Check' or 'Update' against. Bear in mind, also, that not all servers run the same combination of DayZ Code data and Beta patches.

Either the server hasn't updated to the latest build of the OA Beta, or you haven't. Check http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php and download the latest patch (93825) - this will enable you to get onto all servers that are running the 93825 beta.

Check the changelogs on the patch releases. This issue is being brought up regularly so I would have thought that this would be addressed on the changelog. However, I can't recall seeing anything about a fix being implemented yet.

Stupid idea - especially if you're wanting it just to look cool. Bandit skins have become engraved into the mindsets of all who play DayZ. They're associated with the word bandit, which means they'll probably try to kill you. You may not believe me, but I reckon if this was implemented into the next update, then all who equipped the bandit skin would gets shot at a lot more than those who were rocking survivor/ghillies/camo skins... not like KoS isn't already something that happens regardless of your skin, haha.

Agreed - this forum has so much potential, and is such a great source of infomation, suggestions and rolling fixes and updates. Unfortunately, it is flooded by either 15 year olds who think they are the nuts, people who think their suggestions are gonna be revolutionary and should be implemented ASAP, or general elitist arseholes. I hate people.

So last night, I've installed the latest update, killed off my old character to start a-fresh with just the torch, meds and bandage. I've spawned right near Elektro! Result! So I begin by sneaking into the docks, and start working my way in town... Somehow, despite my slow-kneel-duck-walk efforts, about 5, 6 zeds clock me, and start chasing. As per, I bolt it into town, whilst aptly sitting at my desk repeating a string of curse words. I get into the pub, and find I've hit the motherload. There's an M1191, plenty of food and water, a tent, bandages, and what I've been waiting for what seems like decades for - a motherfucking ghillie suit. Take out all the zombies, and go all Solid Snake on Elektro, creeping around in my ghillie suit. I get a bit gung-ho, and funnily enough, someone sneaks up on me dressed as a bush and simply discharges 2 Makarov rounds in the back of my head. Heartbreak Hotel - Population: 1

I never understood the point of fan-sites. Surely most of the sub-domains will be rendered useless, seeing as most survivor/bandit groups will have already created forums for whatever communique isn't covered over Teamspeak & Steam? If you do, however, decide to create a fan-site.. This is the winning name.

Have you secured a TS Server yet? Sounds potentially exciting.

I thought I would hate this modification but it's actually horrendous amounts of fun. No KoS attitudes from newbies, makes you have to be more covert or lose zombies chasing you... It's fan-fucking-tastic!

Hi all, Installed 1.7.1 correctly as per Six Updater/Launcher. Some servers are giving me the watermark saying I'm running the incorrect DayZ code file? Is this an issue server-side - as I'm definitely running the correct beta, DayZ files, etc...
