It would be really cool to see an urban map, where it's strictly just blocks and blocks of buildings for the new standalone. Imagine the sheer carnage/confusion!

If you're gonna be using the woods as a cover point, don't use the treeline; all it takes them is a quick scan and they'll identify you. Go prone deeper into the forest to reduce chances of being spotted.

I started playing DayZ for the first time in ages yesterday, and the first person I met is a ghillied-up mofo, who is armed to the f*cking teeth. I was intimidated, and despite giving me a blood transfusion, I pumped him full of e-bullets because, primarily, I was worried he'd do the same. Such is life on Chernarus.

Rocket has already said that his brother, who is a virologist, is working on a back story for the multiplayer.. I think it'd kinda detract from what DayZ is. Half of it is zombie survival, but, from a personal point of view, the fact theres other players on the same map is the essense of DayZ and what it's trying to achieve.

So I was crawling in Cherno last night with a sweet stash (considering I was 30 minutes into a new life) - Ghillie suit, double barrel, czech backpack loaded with cola and bandages. Life was good. Then I came to an opening and got shot in the face. I was less than happy and vowed to myself that playing in a team surely has to be more of a safe way to survive than going all Solid Snake on my own. I'm a 22 year old, and just want to play alongside a group who are of similar age/mentality, who take it seriously.. but not too seriously, if you get me.. Give me a shout if you can think of a group tailored to my preference!

I'm not sure if this is in keeping with what the thread is aiming for, but, what with my IRL reaction being a genuine facepalm, I feel my tale is appropriate. I've spawned near Cherno, and made my way straight to the Supermarket. Grab a few things from the aisles, and start to move into my back, hoping that I can find an ALICE pack knocking around... instead, I find a respectable young man toting a shotgun at the other end of the room, looking at the floor. I salute him, and start wiggling left to right, as if to say to him "YOU AND I ARE KINDRED. JOIN ME AND WE SHALL PILLAGE ALL THE BEANS IN THE LAND!" The second he saw me, he walked up to me and let loose a round in my face. Insta-kill, whilst still saluting.. What a d*ck.

The beautiful thing about this mod, is that it's only as hard as you make it. If you wanna sprint through town, shooting at anything that moves, then don't come running onto the forums moaning about how hard the game is becoming. If anything, the majority of the features that have been added are to significantly increase your chances of survival, so long as you play the game in a survivalist manner. If you keep low, keep cautious, and consider your options before spontaneously doing them, then I really don't understand how you can begin to kick off about how the game is progressively becoming more difficult.

Only just managed to get a couple of hours in, but from what I played: -Food is quite a rare spawner now. Only found one can on a dead zed, and by that point, my hunger was red! -Tried switching a crossbow for a Remmington; when I tried, the Remmington simPly disappeared. Apart from that; great! Zed's are a lot more responsive to the stealth system update!

At a complete guess, I'd say this wouldn't be modifiable as I expect it works from the Real Virtuality's physics engine.

Unfortunately not. Each character on the DayZ database is specific to the unique ID associated with your version of Operation Arrowhead, therefore, you cannot create a seperate character, unless you're happy to buy another version of Operation Arrowhead.. It's a pain, for sure! I have to share my character with my little brother :(

The only negetivity from myself is: - I wish all these mongloids would take their constant, repetetive 'ZOMBIE AI R SHIT' moans to the Bugs, or Suggestions area. The general forum has suddenly morphed into an arena for people to kick off about hotfix issues... tempted to go on a OMG NUB ITS IN ALFA rant.
