A musket wouldn't be the most practical of weapons, surely? I wouldn't mind a cheeky sword thrown in (if it's worth it after revealing how melee weapons work in the SA) I may just use my unique katana on WarZ until that day...

If it's broadcast like this, surely it removes the psychological value.. I mean, I vom on most things when I'm mad hammered; just because someone who walks past me chundering onto my own shoes calls me a 'tramp' or 'a disgusting young man' or whatever, won't really deter me from doing it next time I'm mashed up (sadly)

Come on man, believe in yourself some more! I'd like you to make me a video of a ghillie'd survivor on a bicycle, riding off a cliff-face (on any kind of map) with Queen - Fat Bottomed Girls playing. I only need it to be 10-15 seconds long. If you could do it artistically also, that'd be topper.

Just because you didn't get it for WarZ, don't think that DayZ will try cover that niché. Totally against this idea. It's not Skyrim. Everyone's meant to be on the same in-game standing. The only skill to the game is the decisions you make, not your characters stats.

I've found a ghillie suit twice out of my whole time playing DayZ. I found them both in a pub in Electro, however, they spawn in residential/military spawn zones, which can be found all over the map. Is there currently an addon for ArmA2, in the ways of trains? I'm just trying to think of the issue where all the vehicles can move in any directions... trains obviously only go where the tracks take them; and I'm not sure how easy it would be to make a vehicle that can only travel forward and backwards on a pre-designated route.. It would be cool though. Give those fresh-spawns some new opportunities - steaming it down the south coast of Chernarus, with a middle finger to bandit snipers from the window.

Personally, I think you should have the final shot pan in from the right, with the survivor overlooking a town (maybe some this setdamage 1'd vehicles to create smoke emerging from the town?) Something to consider!

Initially, I wasn't very happy with the changelog. It almost felt that someone who has been left in charge of the community mods was rolling out changes that had not been even raised with the forum... like there was no opportunity for the community to decide what should and shouldn't be implemented. I've changed my mind now, I think. All these do add to the whole survival thing, and I'm starting to think that maybe it will make a better survival experience. Knifes go blunt, as do axes, and matches don't last forever. My only quarm is: Do matches feel like they have a low spawn rate? It's one of the tools that I struggle to find the most. Additionally, does this mean that I would be able to use matches to create a fire in one location, and just come back and forth to that specific one, lighting it as I like, without using any matches..? Perhaps making a fireplace out of the wood alone would be worth considering, with matches required to actually light the fireplace...

I thought this was a thread suggesting someone making an NPC of Spawn, who gives fitness advice, motivation and Personal Trainer sessions in-game. Can't help but feel really let down now.

Because of the point I made of there being a danger of dumbing down the game if there's a port to the console. It'd be an absolute crying shame if DayZ was a long-term success, and it was suddenly brought down a few notches just to allow more sales on an alternative console; and personally, I can't see any way they'd be able to port it without some form of dumb down.

Yes, and here is why: I have a lot of doubt that the current generation of consoles will be able to run it. This will either result in waiting for the next generation of consoles to come out, and a whole load of optimization efforts to follow (would that detract from the time that could be spent on additional SA development?). The alternative being dumbing down the game, and releasing something onto consoles that flys the same flag, but isn't the same game we all rate. It's not about being fanboy or activation of troll modes (don't even know what you're getting at with that...) It's about the community wanting the game to be kept as fantastic as it is, and expressing their worries of a port to consoles.
