Of what I've heard, the swim to Skalisky Island is still something I wouldn't (and I suspect a load more people) wouldn't be down for. Bearing in mind you have to cross the island, and then swim again to reach Utes, where you could be shot at any second.. I'd rather find a boat first. -

Whilst I approve of your chivalry, you're gonna get a hell of a lot of visitors come a-knocking if you set up shop there... I'd try to make it as unaccessable as possible - otherwise, if it was in the harbor for instance, people would literally walk straight on board and tool up with some high-end gear. -

Well that's the thing about an unreleased storyline... you can justify everything by creating it's own circumstances. The carrier is still in it's original location because... it's where the virus originally broke out! it hit a mine and was disabled! the captain got shitfaced and humped the ship's generator until it gave in! I personally quite like the idea of the carrier. Naval staff zombies... High loot spawn... Hard to access. It could have a lot of potential - much like the oilrigs of Taviana. -
With the notes system being implemented into the Standalone, I don't see much need to create personalised maps when you can just write out co-ordinates or location guides onto a note and leave it on your corpse.

In all fairness, I can't do mean ninja flips like you can with the latest patch either... But I'm in agreement with the nay say; it'd just make the game feel icky and cheap if items glowed. I don't see why you'd need them to, anyway. Loot is very clear. It's not as if they all spawn as black items against a black background...

It's a good idea - it's been executed poorly though. It looks like a parkour vault more than anything... perhaps a forward flip.

I don't get the moral conudrum everyone's making it out to be. I watched Utopia (an awesome Channel 4 drama) last night and a man walks into a school and murders a bunch of adults and children.. That was broadcast on one of Britain's terrestrial channels.. I don't see why potential zombie-fied children in a computer game should be tabboo'd if that's already happening.

It will be reduced. It's like porting Battlefield 3 to iPhone. It just doesn't work, in my mind. I hope it stays as a desktop exclusive, just so it's not watered down.

Disconnected while flying in standalone

I think a pretty neat idea would be for the server to send details of your location (like it always does), but it should also include elevation and also whether you was in an air vehicle at the time, so when you reconnect and it recognises that you disconnected whilst flying, you are spawned in the same elevation/location and start floating down with a deployed parachute. I don't think there's going to be many ways to save the vehicles if you disconnect (if you're solo anyway...) -

There'll most definitely be an animation of some kind when you chose to eat; no-one can comment on how realistic or how much depth the animation will cover, as no-one's played Standalone yet/not sure if they've even done the eating anim yet. -

I'd definitely be against it if it was a regular occurance, and done as Fraggle says up there ^ It'd just be a bit too easy if every body suddenly generated what's essentially a massive neon sign visible for miles saying GET YOUR LOOT HERE! Plus, I think the sound of flies is just perfect. Don't think that needs to be removed/modified in any way (bar the hidden body bug) -

It would be better if it wasn't a guaranteed thing, but I really like the idea. It would definitely create a panic/decision making process before people unload lead.

It appears people are still being dickheads and making very specific proclaimations to release date without any form of viable, fundamental basis.. It really winds me up. That's not how development works...

I think when they're released, I'm just going to stalk players, snipe their dogs and then move onto the next. Not because I'm a complete bastard. Because there's something that doesn't sit right with me about pressing a button and having your dog home in on the nearest survivor.
