Are you ready for the standalone?
mzltv replied to BEASTWolverine's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I'm preparing for DayZ Standalone by shooting any other player on sight, and practicing my duping skills. -

Yes. -
The Killing Of Derpy Hoooouuuuuuuves
mzltv replied to Steak and Potatoes's topic in DayZ Mod Gallery
I gotta say, the helicopter crash was pretty fuckin' epic. -
Aw man, the second lunchtime rolls round, I'm all over this video. Woke up to this, and genuinely got so outrageously excited:
-
It may also be a way for them to test the Steam data pipeline that they're going to implementing in the Standalone for the update in features and that...
-
Should cause a slight decrease in 'HOW TO INSTALL?????' threads popping up. I wouldn't put my money on it, but it's cool that there's a straight forward, idiot-proof method to getting onto the mod.
-
Re-modelled them to have no legs, and drag themselves, more than crawl you mean?
-
My brain don't work too good today, but does anyone know/seen anything regarding the actual disease system? Is it something we can expect to see in the initial foundation build of the standalone, or is it something that will be developed gradually with new builds?

Is DayZ Popularity declining?
mzltv replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Bear in mind that despite the fact that popularity isn't dwindling, a lot of people decided to take a break from the mod until the initial standalone release. edit: also, I enjoyed the bit where he said 'Fuck you' to Inception. people who get so, so god damn angry, and still can't bring themselves to fully type out a swear word  -
How long have you survived for!?
-
Not to sound condescending or anything, but you do realise there are a range of markers available in the Armed Assault map function, and they don't have to be displayed to everyone else on the server? Personally, I think the map is effective enough in the mod...

I would like to see more "signs" of the zombie apocalypse.

mzltv replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Whilst I strongly agree with you, I think you have to look at what's possible and what's not. The level of ambience we desire with a post-zombie-apocalypse map will require, as you've listed, a lot of extra items and objects to be implemented into the map or into the actual game script. I'm no wise-ass when it comes to development, but I can just imagine that such an extensive and immersive ambience would require a very significant amount of work, with optimization to ensure it doesn't effect the performance of the game. Work has been done to create a more detailed environment though - interiors have been redesigned to include eerie qualities, like discoloration and old blood splatters. The screenshot of the crashed helicopter/plane (can't remember which) in a street also gives me hope that Chernarus will be stepped up massively to fit into the context of DayZ. I do think some of your points would be more easy to implement into the game code though. The hoardes of zombies walking randomly across the map, and some functioning/unfunctioning street lights, etc. (also, your English is pretty good man!) -
That was awesome. Loved how he gradually took off the bandages to turn back into a positive-humanity survivor.. Beans for you and your bunny.

What's the weirdest thing that's happened to you in DayZ?
mzltv replied to Holograph's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I heard gunshots, and saw a guy taking down some zombies. Stayed back and just watched him. He started teabagging dead zombies, on his own. Was pretty weird, to be honest. -
Maybe it's not so much single player, but more of an offline bug testing environment for devs and that? I don't know. All I know is that I've not heard of any plans to include a single player mode.

You absolute bloody hero. My beans... you have them. :beans: :beans: :beans:

Limited Capacity Testing has begun.
mzltv replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Stoooked! Now... just a matter of waiting for the key :D -
You'll know if your suggestion is accepted because it will either be discussed about in the social media pages, or implemented into the Standalone/Mod. Additionally, there is no way in hell that the dev team would have time to PM feedback; otherwise, we'd never see the SA. Just be happy that there's always the chance that your suggestion may bring the attention of a developer.

Tips on being a successful DayZ player?
mzltv replied to JesusWatchesAnime's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Completely avoiding people you encounter is sometimes better than trying to interact with them.
