  1. Probably not bud. As you've seen, Matt gave us a little update to tide over the time until the next complete DayZ Dev Blog - he says they're extremely busy at the moment so you may have to wait until the big guy is back before you have a formal update!
  2. Not pointing fingers, but after reading through the content of this thread, I genuinely do think there should be some form of age verification or IQ test before you can create a forum account.
  3. Ignore what you've been told. Have you tried it?
  4. Now, let's see how long it takes people to shit themselves over 'communication issues' in this thread... Appreciate the update Mattchoo! edit: Daz, you ninja bastard...

Shouldn't have to apologise mate - I'd rather you were busy with the standalone than busy spell-checking a Dev Blog.

Someone has to draw a line somewhere on this communication issue; I think this passes the line. Whilst there should have probably been better handling of the communication with the DayZ community (be it right here, Reddit, Twitter or DayZ Devblog updates), they are still of a professional calibre that is uncomparable with The WarZ. Those guys are otherworldy, in regards to communication and PR practice.
  7. Play in black and white and you'll never notice when the color is taken when you go into shock. Simple.

I know, right? I'd rather be reading updates about how Rocket is at Everest and how they're still testing AI and server capacity than accept that the Dev Team are working on it. They're so selfish, etc!

    New map for DayZ: SA?

Considering the obscene amount of work put into Chernarus, this may qualify as the most counter-productive suggestion ever. I agree that the general scene of Chernarus may be a bit weary - I've been playing since a month into the original release so the scenery of Chernarus is all far too familiar, but that's why they've spent a lot of time on Chernarus Plus; to give it a fresh, sassy feel.. Think of it like Gok Wan doing up a chubby lady to make her look less of a brute. I personally would like to see Chernarus with a complete island shape. It kinda bugs me how we're on the island of Chernarus but you only have the south and west coast of it available to you.
  10. Hahaha. Completely missed this thread. Wow. I can understand why you wouldn't a fan of these things but at the end of the day, your regieme is never, ever going to be in place. There's no way you could ever enforce the things you'd want, unless it was hard written into the game (which won't happen) - so.. all in all, this thread just makes you seem like a bit a child throwing toys from the pram.
  11. You know you love DayZ when you're pleading your girlfriend to call you a Hero at the moment of climax. Seriously though, I don't do that.

    Standalone Armory

Whilst I agree with you on the level that it could help to have the Armory function, as many people learnt using this/editor in regards to choppers and that, but... it's the only feature that would need to be included in the Armory subset... I dunno.. If that's the case, it just hardly seems worth creating if you can just learn through the game itself / through other people.

I was gonna say, my rule of thumb is if there's no devblog by the time I get back from the pub at lunch, there's no devblog today.

Holding a key to raise weapon? Your thoughts

I actually quite like the idea. It'll be a bit of a pain when you get stuck into a proper firefight, but I think it'd definitely be worth implementing even just for an experiment.

The man's right ^ This thread isn't to discuss moderators.. we're here to annoy Rocket and Matt over devblog updates. and on that note!..

What's with your complete boner for objectivity? I've not read anything that outrightly says they don't do a good job, neither did I claim you said such a thing, but I felt to annouce how I think the moderators here enforce the server rules and keep things appropriate whilst still having personality. It's something that makes people more relaxed and at will to put forward their opinions, as opposed to thinking the ever-watching eye is gazing at every sentence they type, with a desire to come down on them like a tonne of bricks. I agree to the point where people will side with the moderator because they have a name in blue and a moderator member status, but to be honest, that's that person's call. The only way you could avoid this is to remove all the credentials anchoring one person as a moderator, and even if that was to happen - how could a moderator have his words or warnings taken seriously by a member of the forum if there is no proof of their status? I'm sure if this is a genuine issue then a load of other forums have the exact same problem... If a person chooses to side with the moderator every time, regardless of their original standpoint - it's their call. Perhaps the use of 'elitist bandwagon' wasn't used properly there. I meant it in the sense that your use of 'mere mortal' said to me that you have an issue with the moderator staff being in a position of authority on the forums. That's how I read it atleast, but then again, I am a moody fuck.

Not any more a hint than handing a can of beans for an outstanding contribution to the forums... but I too am praying it is a hint, aha.

I'm not gonna go on too much because it's already been phrased by a good few people but there is literally zero requirement for moderators to start defining under which persona they're posting: moderator or person. The forum staff here are very down to earth, and it literally takes no time to realise when they are putting people in their place or throwing their input in. I want these forums to feel like more like a pub than they do a prison. I, for one, know that I'd make a shit forum moderator because I'd 'yard/delete half the threads made here and probably end up banning for less than honorable reasons. The forum staff do a grand job, and a vast majority of the regulars here will agree. I personally think herbster is brewing up a shitstorm and jumping on the elitist bandwagon for the sake of it. edit: now, back on topic... potential devblog today? if I remember right, I saw on Twitter that Rocket pre-wrote one on the way to Kathmandu?

Dayz SA to be a failure

Yeah, I suppose you're right but I can't see why he'd request the mod to stop being developped by the community, unless they were completely ruining it... Y'know. Big Head mode, fast travel to NWAF and a starting kit with an AS50.

Dayz SA to be a failure

False. Whilst you can expect the numbers of players of the mod to drop, you can also expect to see people continue to playing the mod. It's going to be updated by Razor and his bunch of chaps still, too.

Dayz SA to be a failure

I think they were more of a neccessity to keep the DayZ Mod player-base ticking. Without the use of Private Hives and Whitelisting, there wouldn't be half as many people still playing/into DayZ, as the sheerr amount of scripters and hackers would have overpowered us and resulted in many losing interest. Obviously though, they allowed loads of people to take the game into their own hands and create custom scripts and loadouts, which in my eyes is where it went wrong. All the customisation options server/mission side has given players the choice of how they want DayZ to be.. and now they have that... people want the Standalone to be tailored to how they've played the Mod.

    DayZ Mod 1.7.6 Update

I've yet to identify the one in a Krispy Kreme box of 12 that holds the ellusive custard-filled doughnut. Keep picking the one packed with chocolate sauce every damn time... and I never learn my lesson.
