DayZ Double Developer Blog 14th May 2013
mzltv replied to mattlightfoot's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
I AM SPENDING THE LAST 40 MINUTES OF WORK GOING OVER THIS AND SAVOURING EVERY SINGLE WORD. -
Excuse me, Sir. Do you have a moment to talk about Jesus Christ?

Very strange... I'm not entirely sure but give this a whirl, see if it does the trick:- Open Global Chat and enter '#vote admin 1' (failing that, #vote admin [your ingame name here]) If it approves you and now flags "Admin" next to your name, then simply type '#missions' and select the relevant DayZ game file, and launch from the briefing menu.

In what respect? Your question is full of non-specifics and generalities. -

Anything to avoid the monotony 'eh? ;) and hells yeah to the Star Trek discussion - saw it last night and it literally melted my face with joy. -

Nah, seriously though - there's no real rush for the devblog. I'm sure the second they've got sexy new updates, they'll be dropping them on here. -
I do think that IED's are a lot more plausable than satchel charges, especially if all weaponary is getting toned down in regards to miltary-graded gear... UAVs... Just no.

The very same - where roundabouts and grey, industrious buildings rule supreme.

Fuck that, we should have the colorful city of Milton Keynes.

Anyone ever get robbed trading?

^ That's quality man. It's a good thing we've got the approved trader's listing on the forums, eh! -
Setting up a large survivor 2017 event, need server owner and open minded people
mzltv replied to thelonewarrior's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
If you're gonna do this, you should probably think carefully of a few factors. Obviously, if you're the bandit who's gonna kill people when no-ones looking, that'll be quite hard if they can just voice comm and say 'it's him! it's him!", which will mean that the only element of danger would be removed, and it'd literally be a walk from one side of the island to the other. Zombies are no real threat in the mod, therefore, maybe you should reassess and possibly assign a complete seperate team who roleplay as containment teams or general bandits or something. food4thought. -
Solid effort Gews. Whilst the dinnerbell does pack a punch, I'm backing the Winchester all day, every day. It looks gnarly too.

Looking for a good Private Hive. Read for specifications.
mzltv replied to Ominous (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Check out either BalotaBuddies.net servers or British Sargeants Mess servers. They're the two hives I've stuck to whilst playing the mod and I can't recommend them enough. -
If I remember right, there are specific makes of components that aren't really that compatible when it comes to running ArmA. Your specs look pretty gnarly to be honest, so I wouldn't expect it'd be much to do with that. Have you tried comparing FPS with different graphic settings..?

Do not go to Green Mountain. OH NO, I'VE ALREADY SAID TOO M- -
It's abit too Dead Rising for me, in respect of computer games at least... I say that - it's only because I don't think my heart would be able to cope with encountering a zombie clown at midnight in the middle of the forest...

Whilst the animations and physics completely detract from the word epic, that was still pretty cool.

To be honest mate, you could only optimise up to a certain point. There's a few threads on the forums regarding optimising DayZ (they may be pinned or alternatively, search for the keyword 'optimize') but if you're using outdated equipment, then the poor frame rate may be something you have to live with until you've got the money to upgrade your desktop!
-
Simply enough, you need a better computer. Is that a laptop? 4gb RAM should be okay for DayZ, but that GPU could probably do with an update.

I'm from the little village of Bor... which is actually an ironic name, seeing as life there is far from Boring! *chortle chortle*

Remap your keys, or stop being stingy and buy a new mouse. Bosh.
